April 30, 2018 Roberta H. (Eck) Cave Aug. 9, 1934 — April 26, 2018 Roberta H. Cave, 83, of French Lick, entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Martin County, on Aug. 9, 1934, and lovingly raised by her mother Mary Louise “Wagoner” Eck and stepfather, George Eck. Roberta married Ernest Glen Cave on Sept. 5, 1950, and he survives. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather; one son, William Mark Cave; one infant sister, Linda Kay Eck and four brothers, Donnie as an infant, Robert, James and William Henry. Roberta was a member of the Crystal Community Church. She is survived by her husband, Glen Cave of French Lick, one son, Robert Lee Cave of Dubois; one daughter, Kathy Jo Eads (David) of Darlington, South Carolina; one sister, Mary Jane (Bobby) Noe of Mitchell; two brothers, Charles Henry Jr. of Newland, North Carolina and Kenneth Henry of Winnabow, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Drew, Danielle, Brandon and Blaine; and two great-granddaughters, Emmie Jo and Mia The funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Mike Stout at 2 p.m. today at Crystal Community Church. Patricia Ann (Jones) Brettnacher Feb. 1, 1936 — April 22, 2018 Patricia Ann Brettnacher, 82, Beaumont, Texas, died peacefully at home at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018. Her last breath came during the last decade of the Rosary that her family was praying by her bedside. This liturgical year, April 22, was the date that the Roman Catholic Church celebrated as “Good Shepherd Sunday,” which seemed fitting and brought great comfort to the family. Born Feb. 1, 1936, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Jones and Lucine (Padgett) Jones. On Aug. 30, 1958, she married Philip A. Brettnacher Jr. They were married 50 years. He died in 2008. She was a graduate of Klondike High School in West Lafayette, Class of 1954, and Purdue University Class of 1958, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and gardening and had lovely flower gardens. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas, where she attended daily Mass. Prior to moving to Texas, she had been a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford for many years, where she and her husband were involved with the local chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was also involved with the Ladies of Columbus, a Ladies Auxiliary organization for the Knights of Columbus in Bedford. In 1967, while living in Loogootee, she joined the Daughters of Isabella, another Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights, where she served as secretary. In 1968, she joined the Tri Kappa Service Sorority, a unique philanthropic organization existing only in the State of Indiana. Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Christopher) Cullather of Beaumont, Texas; two sons, Jeffrey (Ellen) Brettnacher of Murphy, Texas and Barton Brettnacher of Bargersville; two sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Lannerd and Carolyn McKay of West Lafayette; one brother, Larry (Tina) Jones of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Church of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Lafayette. There will be a Rosary recited before the Funeral Mass at 9:40 a.m. with a visitation at the church between 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette (Section J, Juan Diego). (Harrison) Broughton Jan. 16, 1945 — April 26, 2018 Carolyn J. Broughton, 73, of Williams, died at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Todd Dickey Nursing Home in Leavenworth. Born Jan. 16, 1945, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William E. and Vivian V. (Goen) Harrison. She married Frank D. Broughton on June 14, 1975, and he survives. She retired from NSWC Crane and attended Englewood Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Donita G. Day of Loogootee and Rebecca A. Cantrell of Indianapolis; a son, Michael D. Perry of Springville; a stepdaughter, Rhonda L. Carr of Loogootee; two stepsons, Steven R. Born March 12, 1935, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Kirzey and Blanche (Davidson) Pridemore. He married Rose Stancombe on May 21, 1956, and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2014. He retired from Ralph Rogers Redi-Mix in 1992 and attended New Hope Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. April 24, 2018 Gregory Kent Norman Aug. 19, 1958 — April 22, 2018 Gregory Kent Norman, 59, of Bedford, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Aug. 19, 1958, in Bedford, he was the son of Roy Frederick and Sarah Lou (Bailey) Norman. He married Terra Albietz in May of 1980 and she survives. He spent his life working in the Lawrence County Limestone industry and played in the Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band as well as many other bands in the area. Survivors include his parents; his wife, Terra of Bedford; a son, Joe Norman and wife Jamie of Bedford; a son-in-law, Eric Everage of Bedford; four grandchildren, Zoey, Logan, Drew, and James Norman; two brothers and two sisters, Jeff Norman and Kathy Norman, both of Bedford, Shelley Smith and Bob Norman, both of Heltonville; his father-in-law, Bob Albietz of Inglis, Florida; and his mother-in-law, Jane Mundy of Shawswick. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Norman Everage. He loved without condition, smiled without effort, and lived without selfishness. Edmund Laverne ‘Tuck’ Doane June 19, 1932 — April 20, 2018 Edmund Laverne (Tuck) Doane, 85, of Bedford, died at 7:46 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan. Born June 19, 1932, in Huron, he was the son of Kenneth and Eupha (King) Doane. He married Marie “Janet” Perry and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2002. He was a sign painter and accomplished artist. He retired from General Motors. A member of the Oatman, Arizona Ghost Riders and McKnight Rangers in French Lick, he was an avid old West re-enactor and gunfighter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Survivors include children, Michael Doane and wife Laurie of Bedford, Leann Pace and husband Bruce of Winchester, Kentucky, Amy Hamilton and husband Robert of Bedford, and Melissa Rinehart and husband Charles of Sullivan; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Roger Doane; and a grandson, Kenneth May. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the Gillen Post No. 33 American Legion in Bedford. Robert Lee Houtchings July 3, 1935 — April 22, 2018 Robert Lee Houtchings, 82, of Mitchell passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Garden Villa in Bedford. He was born in Lawrence County on July 3, 1935, to Matilda “Buck” Houtchings and Charlotte (Hall) Houtchings. Robert married Barbara Rogers on July 14, 1956, in Bedford and she survives. Robert served in the Indiana National Guard and was a retired foreman from Samco Company in Bedford. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Houtchings of Mitchell; one daughter, Cathy Shields of Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Yolanda Houtchings of Clayton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James Houtchings of Bedford; and one sister, Linda Gray of Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carl Houtchings; and three sisters, Jean New, Edna Sears and Ruth Kidd. William Mahlon ‘Bill’ Robbins April 24, 1926 — April 19, 2018 William Mahlon “Bill” Robbins, 91, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on April 19, 2018. Bill grew up in Sparkman and married Mary Lea, in 1950. After military service in World War II and Korea, Bill worked for General Motors, a job which led his family to Bedford, for 17 years. Bill enjoyed an active retirement fishing, growing a vegetable garden and driving the boat for his grandkids as they water-skied at Lake Catherine. A proud father and loving grandfather, Bill’s family will remember his playful sense of humor and his deep faith. We will remember his extraordinary devotion to his wife, Mary, and his gentle ways. And we will always remember his strength and his willingness to fight through and get back up. Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; and two children, Rex Robbins and Sandy of North Little Rock and Peggy Thomas and John of Bedford; as well as three sisters, Joye, Barbara and Melba; and brother Ronnie; five grandchildren, Jamie, Brett, Megan, Kelly and Mary; and six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dylan, Tori, Tobin, Stella and Weston. He is preceded in death by five siblings, Donnie, Charline, Lewie, Rosa Lee and Martha Nell. His family would like to thank his pastor, Donis Smead, for his many hours spent visiting and providing comforting words and to all the members of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Malvern who have sustained them and provided friendship. He was a member of Dive Christian Church. Houchin, 83, of Bedford, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at Westview Nursing & Rehab. Center. Born Oct. 3, 1934, in Gleesan, he was the son of Robert L. and Dephne Mae (DeJarrett) Houchin. He married Betty Jo Bottoms on Nov. 21, 1953, and she survives. He retired from General Motors in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Jay-C’s in the late 1960s and a member of the Lions Club, where he helped make many floats for local parades. He was a U.A.W. retiree, where he was past president. He enjoyed woodworking and loved his family and grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Bedford; a son, Burel Keith Houchin of Berry, Kentucky; a daughter, Gaye Lynn Copeland of Bedford; three grandchildren, Kassandra Bollinger of Fort Lee, Virginia, Heather Copeland and Garrett Keith Houchin, both of Bedford; one great-grandchild, Killian Gmachowski of Fort Lee, Virginia; a sister, Alice Marie Mason, of Pacific, Missouri; and a brother, Carol Wayne Houchin, of Washington. Chrystal Allene (Hart) Patton Aug. 17, 1922 — April 19, 2018 Chrystal Allene Patton, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Bedford to Joseph Allen Hart and Blanche Violet (Isom) Hart-Faubion. Chrystal attended Bedford High School and graduated in 1940. She moved to Indianapolis and started working at L. Strauss and Co. and stayed 27 years as a sales consultant. Chrystal enjoyed traveling with her sister, Genie and went to a number of National Parks, where she had fun hiking. She also loved going on cruises and making new friends. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Keating; and granddaughters, Kristie Keating and Jamie Keating Lord (Matt). She treasured her two great-grandchildren, Will and Libby Lord and enjoyed visiting with them. She also has several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Jean Patton; her brother, William S. Hart; and her sister, Emogene Hart. April 20, 2018 Marilee (Prince) Atteberry Dec. 25, 1961 — April 18, 2018 Marilee Prince Atteberry, 56, who lived in Bedford with her husband of 38 years, George Atteberry, passed away at IU Hospice House in Bloomington, on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, 3:47 p.m., surrounded by family and loved ones. Marilee was born Dec. 25, 1961, in Lawrence County to Judy and Roger Prince. She attended Bedford North Lawrence High School. Marilee and George were married June 16, 1979, they had six children, Mary Jane Atteberry and Clifford Edmonson, Cheryl Atteberry and Michael Baker, Robert Atteberry and Deanna Spilker, Charel Atteberry and Tommy Terrell, Amber Atteberry and Leekeysha Atteberry, along with eight additional grandchildren. She was a loving wife and home maker as well worked at Times-Mail as a paper carrier for many years. She enjoyed reading and caring for her grandchildren. Spending time with family was a very important aspect of her life. She attended services at The Gospel Assembly Church and The Body of Christ Fellowship. Marilee is survived by her husband, six children, eight grandchildren, two sisters, Susan Deckard and Sandy and Brian Hazelip; two brothers, Brian and Kelli Prince and Brent Prince; and two sisters-in-law, Viola and Denny Buchanan and Phyllis Atteberry; and mother-in-law, Iola Atteberry. She is predeceased by her parents, Roger and Judy Prince; along with several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday April 21, at Body of Christ Fellowship. Margaret L. ‘Peg’ Wiley Nov. 26, 1940 — March 20, 2018 Margaret L. “Peg” Wiley, 77, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Bliss Place, a retirement community in Bedford. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Edward and Marie Wiley on Nov. 26, 1940, and was the youngest of three children. Her Bedford connection is her niece, Jenny McGlinchey, sister, Janice (deceased) and Jan’s husband Dave Wagner. Her cremated remains will be buried on the Wagner farm with her family. Peggy graduated from the University of Colorado and traveled to Israel, living in a Kibbutz, learning tree grafting and becoming fluent in Hebrew. She worked as a tour guide at United Nations upon her return and for British Airways more than 20 years, making many lifelong friends along the way. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Scott; and sister, Janice Sue. She will be remembered for her generosity, love of life, sense of humor, keen wit, great laugh, and a deep intellect and spiritual core. Born July 19, 1922, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Harley and Mary Jane (Davis) Blake. She married Curtis Andis on Jan. 11, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1979. She was a homemaker and worked on their dairy farm. Survivors include three daughters, Janet Morrow and Barbara Perry and husband Bill, all of Springville, Teresa Turner and husband Rick, of Williams; three sons, James Andis and David Andis and wife Susan, all of Springville, Mike Andis of Mitchell; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Helen Southern, of Bloomington. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, Nicole Eilar, Evan Eilar, Derick Lambdin, Haley Chastain, Logan Chastain, Logan Bland-Chastain, Zachary Kirkman, Ashlyn Trask and Isaiah Hicks. Freeda Lena Younger July 27, 1922 — April 5, 2018 Freeda passed away recently in Mesa, Arizona, from complications of congestive heart and lung failure. She was an amazing 95 years old. Freeda was blessed with a wonderful life starting out in Heltonville and Bedford, (on the farm as she would say ) and there met her husband and great partner of which led them to embark on their many experiences, love, ups and downs and all their beautiful chapters of life. Both of them traveled westward after the trials and tribulations of the war and found many great friends and years in Lakewood, Colorado. They enjoyed their 2 kids, Jane and John, and all the crazy times with them and their growing up, schooling, partners, friends, pets, travels, and had amazing times during that run of years. When those golden years started (who knows when that was) they traveled all around the 50 states enjoying its amazing places while still managing to get back to the ole homestead and be sure it was always in good shape. At the passing of Everett in 2003, Freeda embarked on a sole chapter of her life and moved to Arizona and ended up at the Apache Wells Community in Mesa, Arizona. She continued there with more new friends, extended family and new activities (she was especially good with those creative ceramic pieces) until her passing on the morning of April 5. Freeda was the epitome of life, a great lady, very caring, did it all in a nice simple way, and she will have fun again up in heaven and be welcomed by Everett and all those wonderful friends who went before her. Freeda will have a cremation as per her wishes and her ashes spread up at Meeker, Colorado. There will be three get together memorials for Freeda, one in Mesa, one in Colorado at the ole house on July 27 in the afternoon and one in Indiana sometime in the fall — as that was one of her favorite times with all the colors of the trees. April 09, 2018 Byron Lee ‘Barney’ Tolbert Feb. 21, 1921 — April 7, 2018 Byron Lee “Barney” Tolbert, 97, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Johnson Christian Village in Bedford. Born Feb. 21, 1921, at home in Orange County, he was the son of Edward L. and Stella N. (Pruett) Tolbert. He married Lou Alma Reynolds June 11, 1942, and she preceded him in death Oct. 17, 2001. Byron worked with the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) for a year fighting fires, planting trees, working with natural resources and driving an ambulance to pick up wounded soldiers at Union Station in Indianapolis and take them to/from Fort Harrison. He joined the Army in August 1942, during World War II, where he spent time in Missouri, Arizona, California, Hawaii, New Guinea, and the Philippines as part of the Allied Forces fight against Japan. Byron was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, and Purple Heart Medal. He was honorably discharged in February 1946. He was unable to work for approximately one year due to his injuries. After that he worked for various companies including Crawford Morris in Mitchell, Hancock Construction in Mitchell, and retired from Rogers Group in Bedford where he worked 23 years. He was a graduate of Campbellsburg High School, Class of 1938, and a member of Saltillo Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family, being outside, and staying active by taking care of the yard (until he was 94.) Barney was known for his great sense of humor. Phyllis June (Bowden) Harris Feb. 24, 1922 — March 29, 2018 I am writing this obituary. I am her son, Stephen, and I wanted this expressed from the heart. Mom was born Feb. 24, 1922, to Frank and Elsie Bowden in Bedford. Frank was a highly respected stone mason and carver, and Elsie was a dutiful and loving homemaker and mother. Mom resided contently and happily through her high school years in Bedford. Cheerful and wanting to help others feel the same. She married her high school sweetheart, John David Harris, who preceded her in death in 2004. Dad was a Bedford tax consultant and Indiana University accounting specialist for the majority of his professional career. I was so blessed to be their son. Mom was always upbeat and friendly to friends and co-workers, as she was an Executive Assistant to leadership at Crane for some 27 years. She was courageous in times of her illnesses, but always focused on consoling and supporting those she cared about and who cared about her. I can’t praise her enough; words alone cannot reflect the love, respect and admiration I have had for her over all these long years. When you know there is someone who never waivers from their dedication to you, that is always “in your corner” and loves you unconditionally — then there can be no other meaningful tribute to this lady who sacrificed and dedicated herself to me and mine, other than to say, “Mom, you gave everything to make us feel secure, loved, happy and special. Born March 8, 1924, in Frontenac, Kansas, she was the daughter of Anthony F. and Catherine (Delaney) Neary. She married James “Tim” Colglazier on Dec. 26, 1945; he preceded her in death in November 1980. She married Harvey L. Porter; he preceded her in death in September 1989. Sarah was a graduate of Frontenac High School. She attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She retired from General Motors. Surviving are her daughters, Linda Rollman of Bedford and Kasie (David) Templeton of Maryville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Sean (Darnel) Brooks of Elkhart, Stacy Brooks (Al) McCourt of Bristol, Stephanie Gehle of St. Marys, Ohio, Natalie (Jack) Frye of Spencer, and Darin “Butch” Rollman of Bedford; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Jackie Brown, of Indianapolis and family, and Adrienne (Henry) Clouse of Mitchell and family. Allen, 92, of Bedford, passed away on Monday April 2, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. James Hattler Pittsford Jr. Aug. 17, 1939 — March 31, 2018 James Hattler Pittsford Jr., was born in Austin, Texas to James Hattler Pittsford Sr. and Evelyn Eula (Steifer) Walker on Aug. 17, 1939. He passed from this life to the Life Eternal on March 31, 2018, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington, in the company of family and a cloud of Heavenly Witnesses. His passing marked the end of a six-years long battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was preceded in death by both parents and three sisters who doted on him, Viola Pittsford, Dorothy Cox her husband Walter and Emma Frazer and her husband L.U. “Hoot;” and a nephew, Wade Pittsford. Surviving are his wife, Janice Elaine (Phipps) Pittsford; one daughter, Jeannie Market and husband Jim; two sons, James Hattler Pittsford III and Jerry Michael Pittsford and his wife Cheryl; one granddaughter, Claire Pittsford; seven grandsons, Matthew (wife Jessica), Michael, James Tatom, Jackson Tyler Market, James Hattler Pittsford IV, Alexander Michael and Harrison Glenn Pittsford; his step-mother, Madge (Middleton) Pittsford; brother, Terry Pittsford and wife Judy; sisters, Cheryl Melancon and husband, Roger, and Cathy Goodman and husband Gary; sister-in-law, Jean Tarr and husband, Roy, and Martha McGaw (life partner of sister Viola); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive. Mr. Pittsford graduated Ellettsville High School with the Class of 1958. He entered active duty with the U.S. Navy upon graduation, having previously enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve. On completion of his military service he returned to Monroe County and began work at Sarkes-Tarzian Company where he met Janice. They were married after a six-week long courtship and enjoyed their 57th wedding anniversary on Feb. 25 of this year. In 1961 he followed what would become a long line of Pittsford kin and entered the pipe trades apprenticeship with United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 515 (now LU 136). He worked at the trade for 25 years before being elected field representative for LU 136 in 1986, a position he held until near his retirement. He was truly a master of his trade and a tireless advocate for organized labor. Among his peers he was regarded as fiercely loyal, highly principled, and as independent as a man could be. Family, faith and Texas were Mr. Pittsford’s highest priorities. He was baptized into Salvation at Ellettsville First Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for many decades before transferring his membership to Bethel Baptist Church. Given the opportunity, he would tell you all about his children, grandchildren and his kinfolk in Texas. He was also proud to be a Past Master and 50 years member of Ellettsville Masonic Lodge No. 245, a 50 years member of the Order of Odd Fellows, and a member of Ellettsville Order of Eastern Star No. 454, and Bloomington Elks No. 446. He served his community through participation on many advisory boards, most notably the White River Labor Council. He also assisted the officials and coaching staffs at many junior league and high school sporting events by sharing his thoughts and advice at full voice! As a mark of his faith, Mr. Pittsford knew that “to be absent from the body,” is “to be present with the Lord.” For this reason his family and all who loved him know that he has received the gift of Eternal Life and now eats of the Hidden Manna. During his long battle with ALS Mr. Pittsford became fond of reminding himself and others of this sustaining truth: “God is good!” Viewing will be held at Ellettsville United Methodist Church on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Mount Pleasant Church (2394 Mt. Richard Lee Beavers Dec. 7, 1953 — March 31, 2018 Richard Lee Beavers, age 64, of Medora, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Bloomington Hospital on at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Richard was born on Dec. 7, 1953, in Seymour, to Elzia Beavers and Eula May (Lonsberry) Beavers Murphin. On April 8, 1972, he married Brenda (Piatt) Beavers in North Vernon and she survives. He was a logger his whole life. Richard started working at Hall’s Saw Mill in Medora at 16 years old. He went to work at the Medora Brick Company at age 17 and stayed there until its closing. After the brick company he went to work at various jobs until reentering the logging business. Richard started working for the Hamilton Logging approximately 22 years ago where he was able to show his passion for the logging business. Throughout his years in the logging business, he was able to share his knowledge of logging and running the equipment for logging. He worked with a lot of people during his career sharing stories and teaching the art of logging. He enjoyed running the skidder the most. Anyone who worked with Richard knew he was driven with this job. He was a loving father and grandfather. His family was his heart, they were his world. He shared his love of old muscle cars with family and friends. Richard is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Brenda; his sons, Shawn Richard Beavers and Joshua Dale Beavers; two granddaughters, Darian and Josie Beavers; a grandson, Damian Elzia Beavers; two sisters, Connie (Marvin) Reynolds and Peggy (Eddie) Smoot; and a brother; Steve (Pat) Beavers. Richard I. ‘Ric’ Corbin-Settle Feb. 1, 1952 — Feb. 28, 2018 Richard I. “Ric” Corbin-Settle, 66, passed away on Feb. 28 as he wished, at home in his bed with his dog curled beside him. Born in Washington, he graduated North Daviess High School, and was trained as an LPN while serving in the Army. He worked at the Bedford Ford/Visteon plant then moved to the Washington, DC Metro area as an LPN and cared for the wounded warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, then as ward clerk for Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia as his health failed. Gary LaDuke Sept. 9, 1940 — March 30, 2018 Gary C. LaDuke, 77, of Mitchell, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington. He was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Orleans, the son of Maurice and Goldie (Mulvaney) LaDuke. He was married to Delorah (Williams) LaDuke for over 40 years. He worked as a carpenter, was an Army veteran, a past member of VFW of Mitchell and the Mitchell American Legion Post 250, and was a member of the Carpenter Union. He enjoyed woodworking, going to auctions, spending time at Lillie’s with his buddies, and around the pool with his grandchildren and family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
