Fields – Gladys F. Fields of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, September 30, 2005, at StoneBridge Health Campus. Born May 30, 1923, in Washington County, IN, she was the daughter of Milo and Daisy (Collier) Brewer. She married Kenneth Batchelor who preceded her in death and then married Charles E. Fields who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Diana Sue Carte, of Mitchell, IN; one son, Jim Batchelor, of Mitchell, IN; two brothers, Otho Brewer, of Leipsic, IN, and Delbert "Dutch" Brewer, of Salem, IN; one sister, Blanch Varvel, of Mitchell, IN; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands; sons: Wesley Slaughter and Alan Batchelor; brothers: Homer, John, and Noble Brewer; sisters: Martha Mann, Verle Hoggatt, Wilma Hamilton, and Flossie Horner; and a grandson, Dennis Carte.
She was formerly employed at General Electric and Reliance Manufacturing Comany and was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church.

Foddrill – Mary Marguerite Foddrill of Bedford, died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Westview Nursing and Rehab. Born July 19, 1915, she was the daughter of LeRoy R. and Pansey V. (Frank) Carter. She married Kenneth Dwight “Shorty” Foddrill on August 13, 1933, in Jeffersonville, IN. They were married for sixty-eight years until his death on June 5, 2002.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth S. Foddrill and his wife, Judith; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a 1933 graduate of Bedford High School. formerly employed at the Well’s Shop of Fashion on the Bedford square. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 1st from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Courson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the service time Saturday at the Day and Carter Mortuary.
Powell – Mary Alice Powell of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born November 25, 1919, in Wayne Co., KY, she was the daughter of Charles and Luanna Jane (Keith) Thompson. She married Hobert Powell on May 5, 1936, and he died on April 12, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana Martin and her husband, James, of Bloomington, IN, and Dolores L. Collins and her husband, Doug, of Springville, IN; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Arter Thompson of Springville, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Donny and Eugene Powell; one daughter, Donna Powell, one granddaughter, Alice Webb; and several brothers and sisters.
She was a pharmacy technician at Kirkwood Pharmacy in Bloomington, IN. She was a member of the Springville Methodist Church and the Early Bird Homemakers Club.

Logsdon – Mauzee M. Logsdon of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at Westview Health and Rehabilitation. Born Sept. 3, 1919, in Murray, KY, she was the daughter of Joseph Marvin and Gertrude (Gooch) Farmer. She married Clarence S. Logsdon Feb. 15, 1940, and he died April 5, 2005.
Surviving are one brother, Jerry Brooks Farmer of Arizona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, JoAnn Logsdon Teague and her husband Bud, Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Charles Wayne Logsdon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Bunch – Elsie Mae Bunch of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, September 25, 2005' at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born December 18, 1926, in Greene County, IN, she was the daughter of Charles V. and Sarah E. (Freeland) Gabbard. She married Edgar (Wacky) Bunch on January 9, 1950 and he died November 24, 1983.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandy Jones and her husband, Laverne, of Springville, IN; one son, Tim Bunch and his wife, Marita, of Bedford, IN; two brothers, Chet and Junior Gabbard, both of Terre Haute, IN; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Robert Bunch, Sr.; and one brother, Elzie Gabbard.
She was a caregiver and former employee of RCA in Bloomington. She attended the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.

Patton – Margaret J. Mathews Patton of Bloomington, IN, and formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Hospitality House of Bloomington. Born October 23, 1921, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Harry L. and Mary (Lewis) Mathews. She married Tom Patton and he died in 1959.
Surviving are two sons, John Patton and wife, Jane, and Robert Patton and wife, Paula, of Bloomington, IN; one sister, Jane Braman and husband, Frank, of Mitchell, IN; granddaughters, Natalie Puchalski and Valerie Patton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Robert Lewis Mathews.
She was a secretary and sales clerk for many years at the King's Shop. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1940 and was a graduate of Stepens College. She was a member of Tri Kappa and St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Chastain – Mary L. Payton Chastain of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, September 23, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born October 30, 1920, in English, IN, she was the daughter of William and Maudie (Kellams) Burlington. She married Tom A. Payton who preceded her in death and later married Wilbur Chastain who is also deceased.
Surviving are sons, William G. Goldsberry and wife, Rebecca, Donald L. Goldsberry, and David E. Payton and wife, Phyllis, all of Mitchell, IN; one daughter, Barbara J. Mundy and husband, James S., of Mitchell, IN; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by one son, Charles Ray Payton; three brothers: William, Charles, and Estel Burlington; one sister, Mildred Waggoner; and one grandson preceded her in death.
She was a home health caregiver, and a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 9107 Auxiliary, and Order of Eagles No. 654.

McNeeley – Dorothy M. McNeely of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, September 23, 2005, at Hospitality House. Born December 26, 1923, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Elmer and Merlean (Burton) Stroud. She married Donald McNeely August 2, 1941, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Kathy Bolton and husband, Buddy, of Mitchell, IN; two sons, William Patrick McNeely and wife, Cathy, of Mitchell, IN, and Michael McNeely and wife, Joyce, of Villa Rica, GA; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Rodger Stroud.
She retired from the Lawrence County Treasurers Office and was a 1941 graduate of Mitchell High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tri Kappa Associate Chapter, and Spring Mill Stitchers.

Riley – Violet Garland Riley of Bedford, IN, died at 11:20 am on Thursday, September 22, 2005, at the Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born April 26, 1927, in East Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Roy W. and Viola (Mickler) Duke. She married Willie Garland on April 8, 1950, and he died in 1981. She later married Benjamin H. Riley on May 6, 1982, and he died on June 14, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Burnie of Bedford, IN, and Doris Jones of Mitchell, IN; one son, Roy Thomas Garland of Arizona; six grandchildren: Susan, Danny, Jerry, Misty, Mark and Debra; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Rhodabrger of Clinton, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and one grandson, Jeremy J. Smith.
She was a nurses aide at Dunn Memorial Hospital for twenty-three years and had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Bedford.

Anderson – Juanita M. Anderson of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on March 14, 1917, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Tollie Garland and Lola May (Brown) Ray. She married Frank Russell Anderson, and he died in 1973.
Surviving are several cousins: Laverne White of Indianapolis, Alice Berryman of West Covina, CA and Robert Dale Kinser of Eugene, OR: nieces, Betty Ritchison and Anna Blackwell; nephews, Gene and Paul Anderson; and her best friend for many years, Mary Gabbard of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Wayne James Ray, who died in 1987.
After graduating from Heltonville, Juanita went to Central Normal College for two years to qualify for a teaching license. She later finished her degree work earning a BS in education in 1959 and an MS in 1963, both at Indiana University.
She had been a teacher in Lawrence County since 1936, having taught in the regular classroom and later art classes at the old Dive School north of Bedford. Heltonville, Shawswick, Tunnelton and Englewood. , teaching grades 1-6 at all schools and high school level classes at Heltonville, Shawswick and Tunnelton. She retired in 1982. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Eastern Star, Altrussa, Women’s Department Club, NEA-ISTA, AARP, IU Varsity Club, and Indiana Retired Teachers. She joined Peerless Baptist Church in 1936.
Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 24th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jon Lineback officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and from 9:00 am until the service time Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to North Lawrence Community Schools Scholarship Fund for the Juanita Anderson Scholarship.
Houston – Helen Clara Houston, 90, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter where she resided for the past 10 years. She went to be with her Lord.
Helen was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Monroe County to Morton C. and Dessie M. Mitchell. She enjoyed a career in sales starting with her first job at Buddy Sherwood's Drug Store in Bedford, as well as being a chief for Weight Watchers. She was also a member of Lasalle Department Store 25 year club. Helen also was a member of the Toledo Garden Club and lifetime member of Weight Watchers.
She enjoyed swimming, dining out, dancing, gardening and cooking. Her family said she made the best biscuits in the world.
She is survived by her brother Lester Wayne "Coke" Mitchell and wife Avanell; son John Kirkman and wife Sue; daughter Nancy Goodman; grandchildren Kyle Kirkman and wife Chris, Lori Patton West, Jim West, Brian Goodman and wife Penny, Jenna North and husband Tony and Emily Kirkman. She was so proud of her great-grandchildren Candace, Nicole, Jacob, Shannon, Jessica, Samatha, Mariah and one great-grandchild. Also surviving is longtime family friend Jim Patton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Coyle Funeral Home, Toledo. Interment will follow at New Belleville Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ozechowski – Michele Renae (Shelli Jones) Ozechowski of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born April 9, 1966, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Lonnie and Barbara (Owens) Jones. She married John Ozechowski on August 1, 1987, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Autumn Ozechowski ,at home; one sister, Teresa Tow and her husband, Toby, of Avoca, IN; her parents of Springville, IN; two nieces, Brittani and Cherith Tow; one nephew, Tanner Tow; many aunts, uncles and cousins and her maternal grandmother, Maudie Owens of Springville, IN. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clarence Owens; her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Helen Jones.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise in Bedford.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 24th, at Cornerstone Worship Center with Pastors Rodney Reynolds, Terry Jones and Jeff Nikirk officiating. Jaggers – Stephen Dean Jaggers of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at his residence. Born November 12, 1945, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Edward Russell and Alice M. (Stevens) Jaggers. He married Nancy Lee Stevens on July 12, 1989, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Edward Russell Jaggers of Bedford, IN, and Stephen Dean Jaggers, Jr. of Mitchell, IN; two step-children, Brian Keith Stevens and Dawn Marie Fox, both of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Sondra Kay Powers and husband, George, of Slidell, LA, and Bettina Randolph and husband, Charles, of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Lawrence Jaggers and wife, Brenda, of Mitchell, IN; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A 1963 graduate of Bedford High School, he was employed at NTN Drive Shaft in Columbus. He was a U. S. Army Air Bourne veteran.

Terrell – Alma Wagner Terrell of Bedford, IN, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at her residence. Born September 8, 1918, she was the daughter of Obel and Emma Belle (Roberts) Wagner. She married Cletus Dale Terrell on May 1, 1952 and he died March 24, 1978.
Surviving are one son, Larry Wayne Terrell and his wife, Loretta, of Bedford, IN; two grandsons, Larry Dale Terrell and Luke Daniel Terrell, both of Bedford, IN; one sister, Audrey Terrell and her husband, Faye, of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband; and three brothers: Alva, Arkansas (Bud) and Arza Wagner.
She was a homemaker.

Wever – Duard E. Wever of Bedford, IN, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at StoneBridge Health Campus, Bedford. Born April 29, 1910, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of John Eck and Sarah (Gilstrap) Wever. He married Ruth Hawkins May 31, 1930, in Lawrence County, IN, and she died in 1981. He married Alma Allen Nov. 26, 1983, in Lawrence County, IN, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Gene Wever and wife, Marcia, of Indianapolis; three daughters: Betty Simmons of Bedford, IN, Wilma Johnson and husband, Jim, of Peoria, AZ, and Joyce Gray and husband, Robert, of Columbus, IN; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; three step-sons: Walter Allen Jr., of Mitchell, IN, Jerry Allen of Madison, IN, and Michael Allen of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Barbara Ann Fish of Bedford, IN; and 10 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, four brothers, and two sisters.
He was the retired owner and operator of Wever's Service Station.

Corps – Lena Rose Corps of Springville, IN, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1979. She married Michael Corps, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are her mother, Joyce Daugherty and her husband, Mike, of Bedford, IN; her father, Charles C. Stannard of Bedford, IN; one son, Nathan Lester of Bedford, IN; three daughters: Courtney Stannard, Destiny Stannard and Haley Lester, all of Bedford, IN; five brothers: Tracy White, Claude Stannard III, Shawn Stannard; Joseph Stannard and Shane Stannard, all of Bedford, IN; and her grandmother, Sharon Trueblood of Bedford, IN.

Latham – Michael L. Latham of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born November 17, 1959, in England, he was the son of Frankie and Norma (Weber) Latham.
Surviving are his mother, Norma of Bedford, IN; two brothers, Frank Latham of Wisconsin and Harlan Latham of North Dakota; one sister, Shara Pigors of South Dakota; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Greta Diehl.
He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Bedford.

Baugh – Geneva J. Baugh of Elnora, IN, died Saturday, September 17, 2005, at her residence. Born November 16, 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Richard and Ethel (Nickless) Mitchell. She married Victor Baugh on July 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1972.
Surviving are one son, Ed Baugh and his wife, Peggy, of Elnora, IN; two grandchildren, Michael and Lizzie Baugh both of Elnora, IN; one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
She was a homemaker and a unit clerk at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford.

Luttrell – Florence R. Luttrell of Mitchell, IN, died Saturday, September 17, 2005, at her residence. Born March 11, 1940, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Hearvy and Lucretia (Speer) Eisele. She married Orris Luttrell and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Kathy Artman, of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Kenneth Eisele, of Mitchell, IN; two sisters, Barbara Pridemore of Mitchell, IN, and Linda Henderson of Bedford, IN; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Avon, William, and Leland Eisele; and one sister, Delores Austin.
She was formerly employed at RCA and Dana Corporation.

Born August 16, 1920. he was the son of Louis “Connie” Sons and Goldie Mae Hughes. He married Betty Hill on August 27, 1939. and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1984.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda C. Johnson and her husband, Ed, and Patti Branaman, all of Bedford, IN; five grandchildren: Jeff Johnson of Indianapolis, Lisa Brinkworth of Bedford, IN, Sherri Hampton of Greenwood, IN, Kristy Endris and Tim Branaman, both of Bedford, IN; twelve great-grandchildren: Josh Chastain of Anderson, IN, Joseph Chastain, Jade Brinkworth, Michael Endris, Hannah Branaman, and Madison Branaman, all of Bedford, IN, Andrew Hampton, Ali Hampton, and Aaren Hampton, all of Greenwood, IN, Kelli Johnson, Ethan Johnson, and Molly Johnson, all of Indianapolis; one brother, Morris “Red” Sons of Carmel, IN; and one sister; Donnie Troxel of Bedford, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, John and Marvin Sons; and one son-in-law, Gene Branaman.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, IN, and was a WWII veteran serving in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33, the Brookside Lodge # 720 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the Murat Shriners of Indianapolis; a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge # 654, VFW Post #1686, Moose Lodge # 689, and also a member of the UAW Local # 1111.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21st, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Gary Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Chandler – Arnold (Arnie) Richard Chandler of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, September 15, 2005, at his residence. Born July 8, 1949, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Elza and Beatrice Mae (Colglazier) Chandler. He married Rosalee (Sis) Butcher on August 8, 1970 and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are three sisters: Virginia (Ginny) Hawley and her husband, Robert of Bloomington, IN, Jeannette (Net) Silvers and her husband, Billy, of Pinhook, IN, Marsha Ryan and her husband, Rickie, of Bedford, IN; one brother, Russell (Rocky) Chandler and his wife, Marilyn, of Pinhook, IN; his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Mildred Butcher; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many special cousins; one great aunt, Nina Colglazier of Bedford, IN; one great uncle, Merla Craig of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was employed by Schwermann Trucking, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea during the Viet Nam War and was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion.

Pendley – Charles E. Pendley of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, September 15, 2005, at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born March 25, 1927, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Perry and Louise (Rainey) Pendley. He married Mary Empson and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Scott Pendley and his wife, Linda, of Springville, IN; one granddaughter, Stacy Pendley of Springville, IN; two sisters, Phyllis Curren of Bedford, IN, and Marylee Davis of Anderson, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, and one sister, Ruth Fish.
He was retired from the Ford/Visteon plant in Bedford and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church and IUE/CWA Union Local #84907.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, September 19th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Harris – Mary L. Harris of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, in Owensboro, KY. Born January 7, 1917, in Oolitic, IN, she was the daughter of Felix and Josephine (Vaughn) Chenault. She married Paul V. Harris in January 1935.
Surviving are three daughters: Barbara Byrd and her husband, Dick, Peggy Lambert and her husband, Gerald, both of Remington, IN and Shirley Haynes of Owensboro, KY; two brothers, Ira and Larry Chenault; four sisters: Margie Pillow, Evelyn Eads, Norma Jean Ryan and Patty Cain; six grandchildren: Bradley Gould of Champaigne, IL, Gregory Chastain of MA, Tammy Grigsby of KY, Mark Gould of SD, Debbie Ray and David Gerkin both of KY; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Kenny, Bucky and Ray Chenault; two sisters, Helen Hollars and Juanita Bennett.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mitchell Christian Church.

Bundy – Barbara Ann (Todd) Bundy of Bedford, IN, died Monday, September 12, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born August 14, 1933, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Ralph and Laverne (Norman) Todd.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara “Bobbi” Nardi of Bloomington, IN, and Becki Bundy of Indianapolis; one son, Jeff Bundy and his wife, Kathy, of Indianapolis; three grandchildren: Joseph, Adam and David Nardi; two sisters, Rosemary Manzenberger and her husband, Frank, of Oolitic, IN; Ruth Ellen Ballantyne and her husband, Robert, of Bedford, IN; three brothers: Bill Todd and his wife, Rowena, of Heltonville, IN, John Todd and his wife, Sue, of Georgia, and Jerry Todd and his wife, Norma, of Anderson, IN; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Foster Todd of Carterville, IL; two aunts, Cora Pope of New Castle, IN, and Helen Todd of Bedford, IN; one uncle, Ermil Norman and his wife, Lola, of Bedford, IN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Todd.
She retired in July 2000 from the Bedford Regional Medical Center as Controller and Business Office Manager. She was an active member of Hillcrest Christian Church.

Deckard – Glenn Deckard of Bedford, IN, died Monday, September 12, 2005. at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on July 19, 1923. in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Otto and Flossie Deckard. He married Bernice Kinser on July 5, 1944, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife is one daughter, Brenda England and her husband, Roger, of Bedford, IN; two sons: Eugene Deckard and his wife, Linda, and Larry Deckard and his wife, Sandra, all of Bedford, IN; two sisters: Juanita Bray of Bloomington, IN, and Lenora Eads of Smithville, IN; three brothers: Richard, Leroy and Vernon Deckard, all of Bloomington, IN; seven grandchildren: Joe Deckard, Becky Tumey, Lisa Eagans, Heather Hearth, Travis Norman, Tevin Norman and Glenn-Aden Deckard; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Gilbert Deckard and two brothers in infancy.
He was a quarry worker for Woolrey in Bloomington and was a member of the Laborers International Union Local #741.

Flynn – Vicki Elaine Flynn of Bedford, IN, died Monday, September 12, 2005, at the home of her special friend and caregiver, Suzi Mowery. Born September 12, 1957, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Hansel and Barbara (Kirkman) Flynn.

She had been a medical assistant for Dr. Jesseph in Bloomington and later was a directory assistance operator for SBC for eleven years. She was a graduate of BNL with the class of 1975 and Watterson College. Vicki was a member of the Calvary Chapel Church in Bedford.

Richards – Debbie Richards of Mitchell, IN, died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at her residence. Born July 29, 1957, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of William Glenn and Loretta (Munsey) Richards.
Surviving are one daughter, Amber Richards, of Mitchell, IN; her mother, Loretta Richards, of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Robert Richards and his wife, Nancy, of Bedford, IN; one nephew, Kyle Richards, of Bedford, IN; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, Dan and Glessye Munsey and Leon and Mary Richards.
She was a 1975 graduate of Mitchell High School and a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.

Wever – Susie A. Wever of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, September 10, 2005. Born January 1, 1922, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of James and Winnie (Watson) Kelly.
Surviving are two sons, Randy and Steve Wever, both of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Susan Tolliver of Bedford, IN; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Porter of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters (two in infancy).
She retired from Westinghouse in Bloomington and was a member of the Guthrie Christian Church.

Johnson – Ronald Reuben Johnson of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, September 9, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington. Born July 10, 1940, in Mitchell, IN, he was the son of John Reuben and Ruth Irene (Gilbert) Johnson. He married Vickie Ann Capien on July 2, 1960, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are sons, Steven Wayne Johnson and Tony Lee Johnson, both of Mitchell, IN; four sisters: Sue Gilespie and husband, Burl, Jane Johnson and husband, Wayne, Pat Winegar, and Judy Hackney and husband, Harold, all of Mitchell, IN; four brothers: David L. Johnson and wife, Louise, of California, John E. Johnson and wife, Rita, Eddie D. Johnson and wife, Angie, and Joey R. Johnson and wife, Kelly, all of Mitchell, IN; one grandson, Ronald Lee Johnson, and great-grandchildren, Lillian Joana and Drew Allen Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Amanda Sherrie Johnson.
He was a 1958 graduate of Mitchell High School and attended Northwood Institute. He was retired from Lehigh Portland Cement Company. He was a member of the Mitchell First Christian Church and Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post #250.

Holt – Elzora M. Holt of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Mitchell Manor. Born Aug. 28, 1913, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Everett and Della (Bailey) Pate. She married Virgil Holt Sr., on April 18, 1931, and he died on Aug. 19, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Virgil Holt Jr., of Bushnell, FL; two daughters: Betty Bush, of Mitchell, IN, and Sharon Haley, of Paoli, IN; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Robert and David Holt; two daughters: Norma Taflinger and Barbara Young; two sisters and three brothers.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship, Mitchell.

Moore – Ruth Ethel Moore of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the home of her daughter. Born April 5, 1924, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Ona Franklin and Mary Wilma (Sharpe) Roberts. She married Joe Hackett in 1942 and he preceded her in death. She later married Clyde Moore in 1984 and he survives.
Surviving with her husband, Clyde are: two daughters: Mary Adams of Bedford, IN, and Libby Simms and her husband, Ray, of Georgia; two sons: Dan Hackett and his wife, Barbara, and Frank Hackett and his wife, Debbie, all of Bedford, IN; two step-daughters: Gayle Finney and her husband, Doug, of Columbus, IN, and Jacque Freeman and her husband, Bob, of Bedford IN; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Viola Bunch, Betty Colburn, and Virginia Massey and two brothers: Jim Roberts and Harry Roberts.
She retired with 20 years of service from RCA in Bloomington, Indiana. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Bedford, Indiana, Omega Nu Tau Sorority Epsilon Chapter and was a Pink Lady Volunteer at Dunn Memorial Hospital.

Spaulding – Larry Joseph Spaudling of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 31. 1937, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Ellis H. and Margaret (Lavender) Spaulding. He married Lois Jeanine Fletcher on Dec. 22, 1962, in Bedford, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are his mother, Margaret Christenberry, of Mitchell, IN; one daughter, Jennifer MacDonald and husband, Jon, of Mitchell, IN; three granddaughters: Christina, Sarah and Cheyenne MacDonald, all of Mitchell, IN; two brothers: Ronald Spaudling of Mitchell, IN, and Gary Spaulding of Paoli, IN; two sisters: Nancy White of Bedford, IN, and Julia Fullen of Rivervale, IN; and one half-sister, Martha Lipira, Stewart, FL. He was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Christina Spaulding at birth in 1966; one brother, Robert Spaulding; one sister, Molly Marie Spaulding; and two half-sisters: Georgetta Overton and Kay Howard.
He was retired from Crane and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Air Force for eight years. He was a member of Dive Christian Church, serving as a deacon.

Martin – John D. Martin of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital. Born Feb. 27, 1926, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Emery and Agnes (Allen) Martin. He married Edna Turpen on Aug. 3, 1947, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are three sons: Bob Martin and his wife Paula of Heltonville, IN, Jim Martin and his wife Lynette of Leesville, IN, and Jack Martin of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren: Greg Martin and his wife Jeanette of Heltonville, IN, Holly Wagner and her husband Kenny, and Jaime Young and her husband Brian, all of Bedford, IN; six great-grandchildren: Brooke, Courtney and Amy Martin, all of Heltonville, IN, Chris and Matt Wagner and Jolee Young, all of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Martin; one grandson, Joey Martin; and one brother, Charles Martin.
He retired after 30 years at General Motors in Bedford. He was a member of UAW Local No. 440 and the Erie United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the Merchant Marines.

Morrison – Jay Morrison of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at his residence. Born Jan. 5, 1947, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Carroll C. and Ruth E. (Fish) Morrison. He married Susan Faye Kopp on Jan. 1974, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are his parents, Carroll C. and Ruth E. Morrison, of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Michelle K. Hicks and her husband, Matthew, of Madison, IN; one son, Jon Patrick Morrison, of San Diego, CA; one grandson, Benjamin M. Hicks, of Madison, IN; one brother, Jed H. Morrison and his wife, Jane Anne, of Bedford, IN; one sister, Radonna Jean Holmes and her husband, Gary, of Avoca, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Jay Morrison, on Aug. 12, 2005; and one sister, Janice K. Bair, April 16, 1998.
He had worked in the finance, insurance and automobile industries for 31 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Bedford High School and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Father William Garrity Council #1166, and American Legion Gillen Post #33, Bedford. He was a U.S. Army veteran, 1966-69, serving in Vietnam with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade during the Tet Offensive of 1968; was Past Adjutant of the American Legion Post in Danville, IN, and was a volunteer basketball coach for Bedford Boys' Club Little Biddy, Big Biddy and Senior League, 1979-2004.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9th, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford, with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Tillette – Norman Amos Tillette of Mitchell, IN, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born April 29, 1926, in Tennessee, he was the son of Lewis and Martha (Kines) Tillette. He married the former Marie Turner and she survives.

He was retired from National Gypsum Co., in Shoals, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a life member of the Mitchell VFW Post No. 9107 and the Mitchell American Legion Post No. 250.

Tolbert – Scott “Newt” Tolbert of Saltillo, IN, died Monday, September 5, 2005, at his residence. Born February 19, 1920, in Orange County, IN, he was the son of Edward and Stella (Pruett) Tolbert. He married Jean Gould March 21, 1941, and she died July 5, 1990.
Surviving are one son, Scotty Tolbert and wife, Jane, of Saltillo, IN; three daughters: Sue Baker and husband, Ron, of Orleans, IN, Brenda Hall and husband, Tim, and Cassie Moore and husband, Tyree, all of Bedford, IN; one sister, Mildred Jackson, of Saltillo, IN; one brother, Byron Tolbert, of Mitchell, IN; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Willis Tolbert and Wayne Tolbert; one sister, Imogene Hall; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He retired from Mitchell Transport, was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the 186th Infantry in the South Pacific, and was a 1983 graduate of Campbellsburg High School. He was a member of Saltillo Christian Church.

Mayden – Phillip N. Mayden formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital. Born July 9, 1949, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Morris N. and Stella (Krutsinger) Mayden.
Surviving are cousins: Debbie Beeler, of Mitchell, IN; Judy Deckard, Indianapolis; Mike Ritchie, Indianapolis; and Mike Mayden, of Mitchell, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, an aunt, Paula Ritchie, and uncle, Mendell Mayden.
He was a member of the Mitchell First Baptist Church and attended LARC Connections.

Brock – Mary Lois Brock of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on September 26, 1918, in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Nina Theopoline (Gipson) Tolliver. She married Ralph B. Brock on February 12, 1939, and he died in April 1973.
Surviving are one son, Ronal Dean Brock of Bedford, IN; one sister, Dorothy Maxine Smedley of Bedford, IN; two sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Brock and Eva Margaret Brock, both of Bedford, IN; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three sisters: Rosetta Tolliver in infancy, Sara “Billie” McHugh and Georgianna Baker.
She was retired from G.M. Central Foundry and was a 1937 graduate of Mitchell High School. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 9th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dan Goens officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday from 5- 8 at Day & Carter. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hurricane Katrina Victims or the Asthma Unit of the Riley Hospital for Children.
Eisele – Stella Marie Eisele of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, September 5, 2005, at her residence. Born August 8, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Mancil and Hautice (Mustain) Dotts. She married Avon Eisele and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are children: Avon Eisele and his wife, Margaret, Barbara Strunk and her husband, Mike, Avonelle Lake and her husband, Jerry, Scott Eisele and his wife, Sharon, and Max Eisele, all of Mitchell, IN, Steve Eisele and his wife, Linda, of Paoli, IN, and Louise Fullen and her husband, Stanley, of Fayetteville, IN; siblings: Ruth Allen and her husband, Walter, Linda Edwards and her husband, Lee, Roy Dotts and his wife, Jeri, Roger Dotts and his wife, Ann, and Kathy Blake and her husband, Guy, all of Mitchell, IN, Virginia Chandler of Chiefland, FL, David Dotts and his wife, Sue, of Leesville, IN, and Lela Helms and her husband, Marvin, of Bloomfield, IN; 9 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and special caregiver, Kathy Crossen. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dotts and Lee Dotts.
She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1950, and was a 45 year member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She retired from RCA with 35 years of service.
Funeral services will be at 10: 00 a.m. Friday, September 9th, at the Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor Steve Epley officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the church.
Pridemore – Mary Jane Pridemore Pace of Mitchell, IN, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at StoneBridge Health Campus, Bedford.
Surviving are four daughters: Judy Dalton and husband Alan, of Leesville, IN, Jan Terry and husband Bobby, of Mitchell, IN; Donna Hart and husband Dave, Indianapolis, and Wanda Eliason and husband Doug, of Centerville, IN; four sisters: Lois Johnson and husband Noble, of San Diego, CA, Eva Garrison, of Mitchell, IN, Kathy Caceres, of Chicago, and Helen Ackerman, of Mitchell, IN; six brothers: Wayne Pridemore and wife Rose, of Bedford, IN, Marvin Pridemore, Roy Pridemore and wife Ruby, and Stanley Pridemore and wife Marsella, all of Indianapolis, Charles Pridemore and his wife Paula, of Greenwood, IN, and Michael Pridemore of Georgia, ; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several beloved nephews, nieces, in-laws and cousins.
She was a homemaker and member of Pinhook Christian Church.

Snow – Wilma Jean Snow of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 15, 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Earl and Mary (Reeves) Davis. She married Charles Archie Snow on June 20, 1942, and he died October 23, 1983.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth A. Snow and his wife, Donna, of Mitchell, IN; one daughter, Mary Jane Hall and her husband, Kenneth, of Toledo, WA; four grandchildren: Marci Pittman, Jennifer Snow, both of Bedford, IN, and Jim Hall of Fresno, CA, and Charlie Hall of Toledo, WA; two great-grandchildren, Madison Pittman and Cameron Jeskewich, both of Bedford, IN; one brother, Bill Davis of Bedford, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; and three brothers: Charles Davis, Fred Davis, and George Davis.
She was a homemaker and a 1942 graduate of Needmore High School. She was a member of Erie United Methodist Church in Lawrence County and was active with United Methodist Women.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 6th, at Erie United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted Murphy officiating. Burial will be follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens in Bedford. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. until services Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Erie United Methodist Church.
Turpen – Evelyn Jean Turpen of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1961. She married Kevin Turpen, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Rose Noel and her husband, Scott, of Bedford, IN; her mother, Patricia Henderson, of Bedford, IN; and two brothers, Brad Henderson and wife Diann, of Williams, IN, and Bob Henderson and his wife Debbie, of Mitchell, IN.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 7th, with burial to follow at Patton Hill Cemetery. Friends my call from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville.
Young – Randall L. (Randy) Young of Mitchell, IN, died Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital. Born December 30, 1946, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Ralph and Helen (Blackwell) Young. He married Avril Hunt March 2, 1968, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Randy Young and his wife, Robin, of Mitchell, IN; his mother, Helen Young of Mitchell, IN; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Roberts, of Mitchell, IN; two grandchildren, Clayton and Chloe Young; and one nephew, Brandon Senger. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Monta Sue Senger.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7th, at Chastain Funeral Home with Reverend Lewis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Hawkins – Mary Helen Hawkins of Bedford, IN, died Friday, September 2, 2005, at her eldest son’s residence. Born February 8, 1923, in Georgia, IN, she was the daughter of Henry and Maggie (Taylor) Starrett. She married Richard Harold Hawkins on February 27, 1940, in Paoli, IN and he died August 11, 2001.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law: Joyce and Charles Totten of North Vernon, IN; three sons and daughter-in-laws: Harold and Rosetta Hawkins and Kenneth E. and Karen Hawkins of Bedford, IN, and Kenneth R. and Jean Hawkins of Coshacton, OH; seven grandchildren: Richard Hawkins, Debra Wright and Shannon Rose of Bedford, IN, Julie Allen of North Vernon, IN, Marie Stapleton of South Carolina, Tracey Hawkins of Georgia and Todd Hawkins of Pennsylvania; thirteen great-grandchildren: Anthony and Daniel Allen, Jarret, Brandon and Ryan Hawkins, Anna and Laura Hawkins, Logan Hawkins, Eric, Elysse and Adam Stapleton, Ellisa Rose; and Matthew Wright; one sister, Glettus Starrett of Connersville, IN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; three brothers: James, William, and Roy Starrett; and four sisters: Addie Sanders, Viola Owen, Robertine Honeycutt and Lula Holt.
She worked twenty-seven years at Sarkes Tarzan Electronics plant in Bloomington, IN. She was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader in the 1950’s. She was a past member of the Model A Club of Bedford and of the Free Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 7th at Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors John Dodd and Glen Duncan. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Rush – Arie I. Rush of Bedford, IN, died Friday, September 2, 2005, at White River Lodge. Born on April 15, 1933, in Wayne County, KY, she was the daughter of Harley Kidd and Pearlie (Thompson). She married Ora Rush in 1990, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are seven children: Danny Porter and his wife, Arlene, of Rineyville, KY; Mike Porter and his wife, Carol, of Bedford, IN; Debra Ritenour and her husband, James, of Hobart, IN; Brenda Heath and her husband, Dave, of Smithville, GA; Cheryl Brown and her husband, Scott, of Smithville, IN; Donald Rush of Crown Point, IN, and James Rush and his wife, Shelly, of Indianapolis, IN; eight grandchildren and two great grandsons; two sisters: Dottie and Wilma, both of Seymour, IN and two brothers: Gola and Ernie both of Bedford, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
She was retired from Dunn Memorial Hospital where she worked in dietary. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Springville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Roscoe Godsey officiating. McDonald – Timothy McDonald, Jr. of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born August 25, 1937, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Timothy McDonald, Sr. and Dorothy McDonald.
Surviving are his mother, Dorothy, of Florida; two sons, Jim McDonald and Tim McDonald and his wife, Kathy, all of Bedford, IN; three daughters: Teresa Harris and her husband, Robert, of Springville, IN, Mary Thomas and her husband, Alan, of Heltonville, IN, amd Lisa Hayes and her husband, Rod, of Texas; one brother, Ken McDonald of Florida; one sister, Meg Hicks of Chicago, IL; twenty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Nancy Barrett; and one son, Michael McDonald.
He retired as the office manager from the Parkridge News Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6th, at the Crossroads Community Church with Pastor Ken Ransom officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the service time Tuesday at the Crossroads Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. The family asks that friends consider contributions be made to the mortuary to defray funeral expenses.
