It’s been termed a Bucket List. These are wishes you aspire to come true prior to your departure to the great beyond.
Until just recently, I was relatively unaware of this concept. Some can take an entire lifetime to compose one of these. Mine was thrown together when someone suggested the timing was right.
Life has not been ideal lately, so my deadline was moved up expeditiously. So far, I have accomplished one of these aspirations. My significant other and I attended a James Taylor concert in Noblesville in June.
In a word, it was “spectacular.”
Make no mistake, other “special mercies and blessings” have come my way, but none that sincerely “rang my bell.”
In the interest of unselfishness and upon the realization of the astronomical improbability of acquiring or achieving the others, I am pursuing just one last goal.
I’ve written a Christmas book devoted to my parents and wish to sell it to make money for the Lawrence County Community Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of Eli Lilly Inc., a 2/1 match is available for every $20 book sold. That results in a $60 contribution for each one purchased.
Please, don’t misunderstand. I do not want anyone to spend a penny on an item they do not want. After all, this is my Bucket List item, not yours.
I do think it makes an ideal gift for clients, co-workers and friends. The few reviewers who have read it have been extremely encouraging.
Whatever is generated from this effort will be utilized to support such popular charities as the White River Humane Society, the Warming Shelter, Becky‘s Place, Bertha’s Mission, Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services, the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County, and several others.
I am hardly a business tycoon, simply a small-town writer. Hence, my business acumen and marketing plan is less than perfect.
If you know someone, especially not affiliated with Facebook, who may want to take advantage of this opportunity, please let them know. The books are available by messaging me or calling me at the contact info below.
Either way, God bless you. May you and your loved ones enjoy a very Merry Christmas.
