Teresa Roberts Obit

Teresa Roberts

Teresa Roberts 92, born October 2,1931 passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, of natural causes, where she resided in the home of her daughter Sabrina Walters and son in law Brett Walters of Bedford.

Mama was preceded in death by her husband Herbert of 57 years, just 16 days after his passing, Mama is survived by a beloved son Roy Villalobos, a daughter Sabrina Walters, son in law Brett Walters, three sisters Zelmira, Luz and Fulvia. Four brothers, Olger, Alberto Rene and Sigifredo. Grandchildren Ella Gadau, Garon Gadau, Michael Morrow and wife Lindsey Morrow.

Mama was born and raised in the mountains of Costa Rica; she was one of thirteen children. She lost her mother at the age of six due to complications of the birth of her fourteenth child, a son and neither child nor mother survived. Mama grew up quickly after the loss of her mother and much later she gave birth to a baby boy, my brother Roy. On August 4, 1964, our amazing and courageous mother brought her little son to the United States she wanted him to have all the opportunities he could have living in America.

On January 27, 1968, she married our dad Herbert Roberts, and they lived a very long and happy life together.

Mama was always outside tending to the yard and the many flowers and flowering trees and fruit trees and shrubs that bordered our home from the road.

I remembered when Daddy got home from work after supper, he would work with her in the yard until dark. It was beautiful, our yard, a fantasy land for me and my brother when we were little and then later for my own children. She loved nature, birds and flowers were her favorite things on earth aside from her children and grandchildren and husband.

Mama is greatly missed by all wo loved her and even people who barely knew her. She was the kind of person one doesn’t forget. She had her eccentricities; however, she was a kind and very sweet lady and gave her family her all.

She had a beautiful singing voice which she passed onto her grandchildren. Even at 92 she could still sing like an angel.

Rest in peace sweet, sweet Mama our lives will never be the same without you, but we will carry our beautiful memories of you with us forever.
