She was loved and raised by Louis and Juanita Fiddler. Sharon married John Richard Crane in April of 1973 at Grace Methodist in Bedford.

Sharon worked at RCA and Kmart for several years each. She then went to work at Ford/Visteon and she eventually retired from there.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Sharon are her three sons, James Michael (Rachel Fields) Crane, John “Johnny” William (Rikki) Crane, Jeremy Richard (Kristen) Crane. Sharon married the love of her life, John, in 1973. Tragically, she lost him in 1983 after only 9 years of marriage. That nine years solidified a love and a bond that, to this day, has not broken. If you talked to her, his name always came up in the conversation because her love and her grief were as fresh as on the day he passed.

Sharon had a beautifully large family and loved spending time with them. She loved to tell stories about her childhood and about those who had major impacts on her life. Her Uncle Boomie Vaught, her stepfather Brit Spellings, her siblings, and grandparents George and Florence Vaught were the subject of many of those wonderful stories. She always enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, gatherings on the family lot, and bragging about her children and grandchildren. She never minced words, and you always knew where you stood with her. If she loved you, you knew you were loved. She will be missed by so many.

Funeral services for Sharon will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00am at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with pastor Mark Duncan officiating. Adam Tyler Hendrickson Crouch Obit

Adam Tyler Hendrickson Crouch

August 8, 2000 – November 1, 2024

Adam Tyler Hendrickson Crouch, 24, of Bedford, IN, passed away on November 1st, 2024. He was born on August 8th, 2000, in Bloomington IN.

Adam was a light in many people’s lives. He took pride in many of his aspirations. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, welding, online gaming, and spending time with friends and family. Adam worked in Florida as an environmental spray technician, where he spent time with iguana’s, alligators, snakes, ducks, and operated air boats, tractors, and pulled heavy equipment. He worked in Bloomington as a tech at a mental health hospital, wanting to help others who were fighting the same battles he fought so hard. These two jobs described Adam very well. His passion for these jobs was admirable. He had more sad times than most will ever know, and he stayed conscientious, caring, moral and strong for many years. He was outgoing and enjoyed exploring, but also cared about the well-being of others and was always sticking up for people anytime he saw they needed it.

If you met Adam, you were guaranteed to learn something interesting. He was a person who carried a heavy interest in learning and devotion to understanding. His ability to learn every detail was beyond astonishing. Most people know Adam for his selfless behavior. He didn’t need a reason, benefit, or desire to provide you with his company. Adam had the personality to fill a room with laughter and he was an avid protector of his mother and his two siblings.

Saying goodbye so soon isn’t something we had planned. The memories, laughter, and love Adam has given us can bring us joy as we remember him. In every memory we find and hold onto a part of him. His smile, laughter, selflessness, and charismatic soul echoes deep into our hearts.

Adam is survived by his mother, December Hendrickson; his sister, Kristin Mullis; his brother, Axl Smedley; his brother, Joshua Crouch; his sister, Lydia Smith; his brother, Ashton Crouch; his sister, Kya Crouch; his aunt, Jennifer Duncan; his uncle, Brandon Duncan and his cousin Miah Duncan who were also his second family; his best friend, Brady (Hailey) Bowers and Adam’s niece who brought him so much joy, Ellie Bowers; his Grandad Bruce (Jennifer) Crouch; as well as many other aunts uncles cousins and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carol and Michael Hendrickson; his Grandmother, Inez Duncan; his great Grandad and Granny, Rolla (Christine) Hendrickson Sr.; and his great Grandparents, Joyce and Roger Croy.

Services will be Saturday November 16th at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Indiana, time pending. Times will be posted at www.FergusonLee.com as soon as everything is finalized.

The care of and arrangements for Adam have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.

Laramie “Larry” Dale Hillenburg

Laramie “Larry” Dale Hillenburg, 87, of Bedford died at 11:45 pm on October 31, 2024, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.

Larry was born February 7, 1937, in his grandparents’ home in Bedford, Indiana to Dorothy Mae McKee and Winfred Dale Hillenberg.  Dorothy and Winfred Hillenberg raised Larry in Lawrence County, Indiana and also in Crawford, Texas along with his younger sister, Judy Hillenberg. Judy,of Williams survives.

Larry worked for a time at Philco in Bedford before joining the Air Force.  The Air Force used Larry’s name as written on his birth certificate “Hillenburg” which was an overlooked typo never corrected. Larry was a Military Policeman and stationed in Germany & Japan.  Larry was a very good shot with a rifle.  He participated in sharp shooting competitions while serving in the Air Force in Honolulu Hawaii.

Laramie “Larry” Dale Hillenburg Obit

On December 23rd, 1961, Larry married Sharon Kay Waggoner and they moved to Washington DC where Larry was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base.

On November 22, 1963, Larry was sleeping after working an overnight shift when he was called in to duty “stat” after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Larry was a witness to Jackie Kennedy arriving back to Andrews Air Force Base in her pink dress covered in her husband’s blood.

After serving 8 years in the US Air Force, Larry was honorably discharged and moved back to Bedford, Indiana with his family which then included a daughter, Tina Mae Hillenburg and later a son, James “Jim” Hillenburg.

Larry served his community for 21 years rising to the rank of Major on the Bedford Police Department while also working part time as an EMT for Dunn Hospital on his days off.  After his retirement from the BPD he continued to serve the community as a BPD dispatcher.

Larry was a member of the Spice Valley Church of Christ, a life-long Democrat, and a member of the F.O.P. #94.

Larry’s life was far more than his jobs. He was a brother who seemed at times more like a second dad to his younger sister. He was a devoted husband who to the end of his life always thought first of his wife’s needs over his own.  He was a father who did his best to raise his children to be good people.  He was a grandfather who shared his knowledge and love of hunting and fishing with his grandson and let his granddaughter beat him at checkers just to see her joy over winning. A man who cared for his friends, community, and country.

Larry was loved by his family and is already missed.
