Carman Lynne Fish, 63, of Bedford, passed away at 10:40 P.M. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her daughters residence.
Born August 18, 1958, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Arthur Collier and Carroll (Baker) McCullough. She retired as an associate at Walmart.
Survivors include a son, Joseph R. Fish (Kayla), of El Campo, TX; two daughters, Bobbette R. Magers (Lane), and Ashlee D. Fish-Stroud, all of Bedford; grandchildren, McKinzie, Leo, Morgan, Logan, Malloree, Emmalee, Elijah, Madilyn, Donald, and Wesley; a brother, Rusty Collier, of Bedford; her mother, Carroll McCullough, of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Collier, and a grandson, Dason Isaiah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Nick Mullis officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be her son, sons-in-law, and grandsons: Joe, Lane, Tyler, Morgan, Elijah, and Logan.

Leonard McCullough, 79, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at his residence.
Born August 20, 1942, in Bargersville, he was the son of Roy and Carman McCullough. He married Sharon Chapman and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2014. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked at General Motors and the Highway Department. He retired from RCA and was a member of the Southland Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie McCullough, of Oolitic; a brother, Albert McCullough, of Mitchell.
Private graveside services will be conducted. No visitation is scheduled.

Casey Lee Wright

Casey Lee Wright, 66, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his residence.
Born August 6, 1955, in Gary, he was the son of George Elmer and Nora Elizabeth (Tincher) Wright. He married Linda Faye Triplett in March of 1988.
Casey had been employed at Indiana Limestone and was a 1973 graduate of Mitchell High School. He was a good cook and enjoyed fishing, planting flowers, and was an avid gardener. Casey collected arrowheads, fossils, and artifacts, and loved to ride motorcycles.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Wright of Huron; sons, Tyler Dalton Wright of Mitchell, Travis Dean Wright of Huron; sisters, Sally Ann Lewis of Bedford, Judy Kay Todd of Mitchell.
His parents preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen.
A celebration of life will be at a later date with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery.

William Albert Magner, 91, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Mitchell Manor.
Born March 30, 1930, in Orleans, he was the son of Wilbur Glenn and Wilma (McCart) Magner.
He retired from Mitchell Transport and was a farmer. Bill was a member of Fishing Creek Chapel and White River Valley Antique Association.
Surviving are his children, Peggy Ann (Mike) Corbett of Corydon, Jackie Sue (Steve) Hammack of Corydon, Dennis William (Sandra) Magner of Orleans, Terry Ray (Sharon) Magner of Orleans, Mac William (April) Magner of Bedford; stepchildren, Ronald Scott (Lisa) Cole of Bedford, Deborah Jo (Bob) Lewis of Bloomington; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Magner of Corydon, Harold Magner of Ellettsville, Wendell Magner of Peoria, Illinois.
His parents; companion, Betty Jane Ratkovich (2-9-2019); and brother, Glenn Magner, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Kyle Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery.

Lisa K. Stephens (Cobb) 54, of Ellettsville passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her home with her loved ones.
She was born in Lawrence County to David K. Cobb and Shirley A. (Kern) Kinser.
Lisa Married Steve Stephens October 1, 1994. She loved to go on road trips even if it wasn’t far, dirt track racing, 4-wheeler riding, mushroom hunting, Jeepin, spending time with her kids and grandchildren, and kid rock.
Lisa is survived by her husband; her children; Jessica Watson (Joe), Mystica Kinser (Jason), Kristina Richardson (Ben), Angela Green (Brian), and Austin Stephens (Katy); her grandchildren; Jacob, Jordan, Larissa, Colton, Jacey, Braxton, Chase, Kinsley, Kamdyn, Kartyr, Kayne; brother; Keith Cobb of Bedford, sister; Karen Moore of Bloomington, Step-sister; Pamula Kinser, Sister-in-law; Bambi Lawson (Jimmy), Step-brother; Phillip Kinser Jr. and brother-in-law; Bryan Stephens (Jeanette),as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle James Cobb, Aunts; Linda (Cobb) Stillions, and Jennie (Kern) Edwards.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Phil Kinser, step-brothers; Leon Kinser and Chad Kinser, Aunt, Varda “Jackie” Briscoe, father-in-law Clayton Austin Stephens and mother-in-law, Carolyn Malone.
Visitation will be before the funeral from 11 – 1pm Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at The Funeral Chapel, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.

Connie Leigh Lewis, 69, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at her residence.
Born September 12, 1952, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Jackie Lee and Maxine Agnes “Mickey” Doub. She married Steven Joseph Lewis June 7, 1984, and he preceded her in death October 12, 2009.
Connie was self-employed as an upholsterer. She was a member of the Work of God Church. Connie loved spending time with her grandchildren and landscaping.
Surviving are her Children, Keely (Travis) Armstrong of Orleans, and Trevor (Jamie Brown) Johnson of Mitchell; Grandchildren, Joshua (Ellie) Spradlin, Megan Spradlin, Melissa Arp, Summer Arp, McKenzie (Joel) Beasley, Veyla Beasley, and Kaiya Johnson; Step-grandchildren, Austin Armstrong, Dillon Armstrong, Cooper Armstrong, Jordan Rio, and Jasmine Rio; Siblings, Cary (Beth) Doub of Mitchell, and Carmen (Les Goldsby, deceased) Burton of Mitchell; Brother-in-law, Amel Kern of Williams.

Dale W. Deckard age 63 of Mitchell passed away on January 26, 2022 at 4:58 Am at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Bedford on December 31, 1958 to Kenny and Brenda (Clemons) Stalcup. Dale married Susan Collins and she survives.
Dale attended Tunnelton school and BNL, he was a US Army veteran, serving in 101st Airborne Division. He was a Diamond belt sawyer at Independent Limestone Company in Bloomington.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Deckard of Mitchell, children, Justice (Billie Jo) Deckard of Mitchell, and Stephanie Hurd of Williams, step-daughter, Valerie Mitchell of Mitchell, his father, Kenny Stalcup of Leesville, sister, Tammy (Monte) Williams of Leesville, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, special cousins, Mike and Robert Bell
Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, and one brother, Mike Stalcup.
Cremation was chosen.

Paul Elliott, 58, of Bedford, lost his battle with cancer after a long hard fight, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at his residence.
Born January 2, 1964, in Olney, IL, he was the son of James B. and Mary Ann (Kirk) Elliott. He married Elaine Meadows on November 3, 1995, and she survives.
He was a truck driver for Hancock Trucking. He was a wonderful husband, friend, and neighbor. He raised Arabian horses and was a member of ECAHS.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of Bedford; a brother, Thad Elliott and wife, Angela, of California; a niece, Jayme; his father, James Elliott and his wife, Milly, of Bedford; his grandmother, Yozelle Kirk, of Vincennes; his loyal dogs, Olive and Blue.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann; his grandparents, Paul Kirk, Vernon and Lela Elliott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Born August 7, 1957, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Carl Edwin and Mary Louise (Crain) Smith. She married Tony Duane Arnold May 7, 2016.
Pam enjoyed her job delivering newspapers for the Times Mail, Herald Times, and the Indy Star. She raised and bred American Eskimos.
Surviving are her husband, Tony Duane Arnold of Williams; children, John Andrew (Erin) Clampitt of Heltonville, Jeffrey Philip (Daniela) Clampitt of Bloomington, Jared Timothy Clampitt of Williams, Jonathan Michael Clampitt of Williams, Joel Benjamin Clampitt of Lafayette; Step-children, Tony (Tracey) Arnold, Jr. of Bedford, Brookes Owen (Holly) Arnold of Springville, Michael Cody (Mandy) Arnold of Mitchell; 13 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, David (Kathy) Smith of Stanford.
Her parents and sister, Carla Timms, preceded her in death.

Timothy Earl “Tim” Rosenbaum

Timothy Earl “Tim” Rosenbaum, 72, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at his residence.
Born on June 28, 1949 in Bedford, he was the son of Clyde E. Rosenbaum and Mary Kathleen (Cecil) Rosenbaum. He married Arvetta Fender on November 5, 1977 and she survives.
Tim was a graduate of Tunnelton High School class of 1967 and was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 in Bedford. He was a volunteer fireman with Shawswick Township and was of the Christian Faith. Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandson Justin Sons.
Tim retired from General Motors and from the Army National Guard. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Tim is his wife, Arvetta; his daughter, Tawnya Sons; grandson, Justin Sons; brother, Anthony Rosenbaum; niece, Elizabeth (George) Brace; and nephew Robert (Brandy) Rosenbaum.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Kathleen Rosenbaum.

Margaret R. Bruce

Margaret R. Bruce, 100, formerly of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away in Bedford IN on Monday, January 17, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Chazy on October 10, 1921 the daughter of James and Blanche (Duprey) Corrow. She grew up on the Miner Farm and attended Chazy Central Rural School. She married Clarence Bruce on September 9, 1937 and together they had five children.
Following Clarence’s death, she began her career at the County Home, which would become the Clinton County Nursing Home, as a housekeeper. She then trained to be a nurses aide where she lovingly cared for the residents for many years. Her devotion to the residents continued even after her retirement as she continued to volunteer for many more years. Nan, as she was adoringly known by all, was an avid reader and finished every crossword puzzle she started. She enjoyed attending sporting events, plays, recitals and school events for her grandchildren and great-grand children. She was a member of St. Peters Church in Plattsburgh.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Brim of Bedford, IN, her son Dennis Bruce of Beekmantown, NY, her sister Katherine of Buffalo, NY, a brother Jerry of Port Henry, NY, fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, daughters Patricia (LaPorte) Frederick and Donna Lindsay, son David, and eight brothers and sisters.
Services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in West Plattsburgh Union Cemetery.

Veva Elaine Allen, 75, of Bedford, passed away at 5:20 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born November 18, 1946, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Strunk) Slaton Stout. She married Harold Paul Allen on July 28, 1967, and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2012.
She began working for North Lawrence Community Schools in 1987 as a Title I Aide and was a custodian until her retirement in 2006. She attended the Living Word Church in Bedford and was a member of SoTA quilting club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Hackney and husband, Dave, of Leesville, Jamie McGarvey and husband, Rick, of Bloomington, Geri James, of Bedford; two sons, Josh Allen and wife, Jennifer and Scott Allen, all of Heltonville; seven grandchildren, Tyler McGlocklin, of Bedford and Gunner Allen of Heltonville, Jacob Perry and wife, Taylor and Mikala Haag, both of Leesville, Chase Allen, of Heltonville, Nathan and Evan Williams, both of Bloomington; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Stout and wife, Julie, of Bedford, Ron Slaton and wife, Linda, of Scottsburg; two sisters, Janna McArtor and Sherrie Dawn Johnson and husband, Danny, all of Springville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-father, Fred Stout; a brother, Chester Stout (in infancy); one great-grandchild; sisters, Henrietta Cochran and Sylvia Bailey; a brother-in-law, Eugene Phillips who was like a father to her.

Larry Ray Tirey, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Bedford.
Born March 17, 1943, in Lawrence County, he was the son of George Henry and Ada (Smith) Tirey. He married Shirley Ann Vaught December 23, 1967.
Larry retired from NWSC—Crane. He was a member of Dive Christian Church and NARFE. He was a 1961 graduate of Mitchell High School and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Larry was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ann Tirey of Bedford; children, Susan L. (Daren) Eads of Bloomington, J. Lynn (Trent) Middleton of New Albany, Bret Tirey of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Eric (Gabbie) Eads, Cheyenne Middleton, Dakota Middleton, Hope (Matthew) Hershey, and Luke (Hannah) Balaban; siblings, Don (Marilyn) Tirey of Oolitic, Bobby (Pam) Tirey of Oolitic, Rhea Dawn (Monte deceased) Anderson of Bedford; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.
His parents and siblings, Ella Pearl (Walt) Allbright, Mary Jane Tirey, John Henry (Mary Alice) Tirey, Alvy (Mildred) Tirey, Wayne (Charlotte) Tirey, Phyllis (Robert) Tucker, and Dee (Robert) Grubb; and sisters-in-law, Patty Jo Tirey and Roberta Tirey, preceded him in death.

Born June 15, 1935, in Lawrence County, he was the son of George and Pearl (Evans) Baker. He married Wanda Thompson July 19, 1964, and she survives.
Marshall had worked for Stone City Construction and retired from the North Lawrence School System. He was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; daughter, Deanna (Bryan) Cain; son, Brian (Jena) Baker; sister, Sylvia Pritchett; grandchildren, Ashly (David) Kirts and Alayla Mitchell; and great grandchild, Easton Kirts.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Jane (Lester) Hall, Melphia (Bill) Morris and Mary (Winfred) Wigner; brother, Opal (Vonda) Baker; grandson, Darrean Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Richard Pritchett.

Teddy “Gene” Anderson, 94, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Evansville.
He was born October 10, 1927, in Monroe County, to Charles and Clara Williams Anderson. He married Phyllis Jackson on April 15, 1950, and she survives.
Gene graduated from Bedford High School and attended First Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, U. S. Navy veteran, member of American Legion Gillen Post #33 and prior member of the Elks Club. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a mail carrier and had also worked in Weights and Measures for the State of Indiana.
Surviving Gene are his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Rita (Jim) Mullen-Spence; grandchildren, Shawn Whalin, Dustin Whalin, Andrea Mullen and Michael Mullen; three great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Ritchison.
Preceding Gene in death are his parents; daughter, Judy Whalin; grandson, Jacob Whalin; brothers, Frank and Paul Anderson; and sister, Anna Blackwell.
Funeral services for Gene will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with Pastor Jason Filler officiating. Virginia Rose Brown, 92, of Orleans, passed away at 1:45 AM on January 25, 2022 at Paoli Health and Living Community.
She was born December 14, 1929 in Orleans, IN, the daughter of Charles Herman and Lillie Rebecca (Foster) Hunsucker. She married Robert R. Brown and he preceded him in death on September 3, 1994.
She was a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church and Knit Wits. She graduated from Orleans High School, class of 1947.
She is survived by one step-son, Robert Dale Brown of Mitchell; three grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Cox and Lois Hunsucker and three brothers, Herman, Ernest and Charles (JR) Hunsucker.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Purkhiser officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.

Gloria Gayle Hawkins passed away at 8:00 am on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at the Bliss Place, Bedford.
Born September 25th, 1932, in Lawrence County, to Raymond C. and Helen (Fisher) Reuter. She married Zelbert B. Hawkins, Jr. on March 8, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 11th, 2013.
She was a very active member of Dive Christian Church. She retired from Ford/Visteon after working there for over 26 years and was a former member of the Friendly Club and of the WBCCI Airstream Club. A euchre club and the Dive Ladies Aide.
Survivors include two children: Son, Jerry Hawkins and wife, Linda, of Bedford, Daughter, Debbie Maze and husband, Jon, of Bedford. Five grandchildren: Missy Brown and husband, Stacey, Mindy Kimbrel and husband, Justin, Justin Pogue and wife, Michelle, Marci Bennett and husband, Bryce, Heath Hawkins and wife, Angel. Eight great grandchildren Jordan Taylor and husband, Dustin, Taylor Brown and wife, Kaitlyn, Clayton Brown, Dalton Brown, Brynlea Bennett, Kaedyn Bennett, Ella Pogue and Lilly Hawkins. Two great, great grandchildren: Amelia Brown and Nora Brown. A sister-in-law, Wilma Jeanie Reuter.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, a son, Randy Hawkins and wife Emily and another daughter-in-law: Debbie Hawkins and one brother, Charles Dean Reuter.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 27th at the Dive Christian Church with Taylor Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Dive Christian Church cemetery immediately after the service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 26th at the Day and Carter Mortuary from 3:00-8:00 and from 1:00 pm until the funeral service begins at Dive Christian Church.

Emma Jean (Jeanie) Clark-Judah, 90, of Bedford, passed away on January 22, 2022, at her residence.
Born January 27, 1931, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Walter Jenkins and Mary (Dalton) Gilbert. She married John H. Clark and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1967. She later married Charles Judah and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2009.
She worked for General Tire, in Wabash, IN for ten years, and RCA for three years. She owned and operated Sudden Beauty Salon for 28 years and was a home health caregiver for 24 years.
Survivors include two children, George Rogers Clark, of Austin, TX and Nancy Jean Acton, of Springville, IN; four grandchildren, Jeremy Clark, of Tunnelton, IN, Michael Corps, of Springville, IN, Jamie Clark, of Bedford, IN and Monty Clark, of Springville, IN; two brothers and six sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son, one brother, and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, January 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

David Estel Abel age 50, of Loogootee, passed away January 22, 2022, at the Daviess Community Hospital in Washington.
He was born March 9, 1971, in Bedford, Indiana to Dale and Darcus (Howell) Abel.
David was a 1991 Graduate of Loogootee High School and was a diesel mechanic for many years.
He is survived by his mother, Darcus Abel; children, Jennifer Abel and Dalton Abel; grandchildren, Zane Holland and Lavinia Holland; one brother, Eric Abel; and three nieces, Kayla Abel, Danielle Abel and Olivia Abel. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale E. Abel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor Ed Frost will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.

Jerry was an artist and cartoonist. He loved music, writing songs, and working on self- published comic books. He was a member of Dive Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Heidi Canary of Bedford; daughter, Cinnamon Honey Canary of North Vernon; grandchildren, Riley and Joseph; sisters, Rita Euhl and Sheila Luttrell.
His parents preceded him in death.

Mary Jerene Geary-Graves, 96, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Mitchell Manor.
Born March 17, 1925, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Loyd R. and Anice C. (Bex) Miller, Sr. She married Charles W. Geary in 1945 and they had two children, Brent (Carla) Geary of Bloomington, IN and Lake Wales, FL and Brenda (Dana) Dunbar of Mitchell. She later married Phyl Graves in 1970 and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Mary was an active member of the Mitchell First Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years and was also very active in the Women’s Guild.
Mary was a 1944 Mitchell High School graduate and a proud classmate of astronaut Virgil I. Grissom. She was a former member of Order of Eastern Star No. 503, Gideon’s International and a volunteer for Hospice Care. Mary also served with the Hoosier Uplands Latch Key Program where she enjoyed working with children, and was a Pink Lady volunteer at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Mary is survived by siblings, Lloyd (Wilma) Miller, Jr. and Sue Miller Acton of Mitchell; grandchildren, Heather Dunbar Parker (Brian) of Franklin, TN, Derek Dunbar of Bedford, Brent (Renee) Geary of Fairfax, VA, and Josh (Jennifer) Geary of Bloomington, IN, great grandchildren, Jack and Dane Parker, Ryan and Finn Geary, and Josephine Geary. Mary is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Martha Kendall, brother, Phillip Miller, sister, Edna Merry, and her close in-laws Perry Kendall, Ray Merry, Mary Ellen Miller, Bill Acton, and niece, Susan Merry Fortner.
Mary was a loving grandmother and enjoyed bingo, cooking, sewing, and reading her Bible daily. Her favorite TV shows in her latter years were Jeopardy and 60 Minutes. She loved traveling and had been fortunate to have traveled in South America, Europe, Mexico, and in many of the North American states.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.

Joandel Shaber, 80, formally of Mitchell, passed away at 8:32 PM on January 21, 2022 at her home.
She was born February 6, 1941 in Mitchell, IN, the daughter of Lowell and Ruth (Melvin) Isom. She married Mark Shaber on June 11, 1966 and he survives.
Joandel graduated from Mitchell High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mitchell. She was employed for many years at Merle Norman Cosmetics and Smith’s Jewelry. Joandel enjoyed being with her friends at a Bible study group once a week and also spending winters in Bradenton, FL.
She is survived by her husband of Mitchell; and one daughter, Melissa Shaber of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janice (Isom) Sell.
A graveside service will be private on Tuesday at Cresthaven Memory Gardens in Bedford with Pastor Reggie Clark officiating.

Ryan Wells, 49 of Marengo, IN passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Harrison County Hospital surrounded by his family.
Ryan was born on May 6, 1972, in Bedford, IN. to Robert and Sandra (Combs) Wells.
Ryan is preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents and his best friend Brent Bledsoe.
He is survived by his twin boys, Jesse and Owen Wells of Corydon, IN, his girlfriend Dawn Wright of Marengo, his parents, Robert and Sandra Wells of Marengo, IN, his sister Susan Wells of Sacramento, CA, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ryan was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed going to car shows and fishing with his twin sons. He operated heavy machinery at Hilltop LLC. He was known as an animal lover, but most of all he was proud to be a dad and loved his kids.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2022 from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at 1:00 P.M at Dillman – Green Funeral Home in Marengo, IN.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M with Pastor Brian Combs to officiate. Cremation was chosen according to Ryan’s wishes.

James (Jim) Ray Leinart

James (Jim) Ray Leinart, 79, of Seymour, passed away on January 19th, 2022. Born in 1942, in Lee County, Virginia, he was the son of James Claude and Gladys Ray (Snead) Leinart. He married Sharon Kay Tyree on August 13, 1967, at the First Christian Church in Mitchell, Indiana and she survives.
Jim graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1960. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967. Jim’s first job was teaching Industrial Arts in Smithville, Indiana. After teaching for a few years Jim went on to work as a salesman and later district manager for Lawson Products Inc. where he was responsible for covering most of Southern Indiana. Jim was an avid storyteller and enjoyed sharing anecdotes with everyone he met and both skills served him well in his job and life.
Jim’s favorite pastime was playing golf and most often he could be found playing around with his friends or planning a golfing trip to some of his favorite spots. During his golfing career Jim was to achieve two “holes in one”- which presented him with a couple of good stories to share! Jim also enjoyed following NASCAR and took frequent trips to Daytona and Bristol with family to watch the race.
Surviving to share fond memories of Jim is his wife of 55 years Kay; one son, Chad (Heidi) Leinart; three grandchildren, Ally, Marci, and Marshall Leinart (who he proudly chauffeured throughout the area); one brother, Sam (Carol King) Leinart; stepsisters Sue (Rick) Haydon and Ann Henderson; and step-brothers Sam (Debbie) Henderson and Davis Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Robert Henderson, and various uncles, aunts, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Voss & Sons Funeral Home from 3pm until 5pm, January 23, 2022. Reverend Michael Williams with Mt Horeb Baptist Church will officiate a graveside service on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, IN. Fred Donald “Donnie” Lewis, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 22, 1944, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Frank Burton and Goldie (Hopkins) Lewis. He married Sandra Kay Guthrie May 17, 1983.
Donnie had been employed at Regal Beloit for 25 years, Visteon, and retired from Baxter. He loved to fish, hunt, and watch racing.
Donnie was proud of his family, a friend to everyone, and would do anything for anyone. He attended the Bride of Christ Fellowship.
Donnie was a graduate of Mitchell High School in 1962 and received a bachelor’s degree from Northwood Institute.
Donnie was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250 Honor Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Lewis of Mitchell; children, Mark (Tony) Lewis of New York, Marty (Monica) Lewis of Indianapolis, Jason (Sylvia) Lewis of Seattle, Trevor Guthrie of Mitchell, Teesa (Chris) Fitzpatrick of Mitchell, Allison (Chris) Hale of Ferdinand; grandchildren, Andrew, Walt, Gwenna, Elizabeth, Katherine, Tristan, Grant, Tyler, Kyle, Darby, and Dillon; 3 great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January, 24, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Richard “Dick” Ross Bauer, 84, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard was born June 3, 1937, in Bloomington, IN to parents Michael and Blanche Bauer and was one of fourteen children.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Bauer (née Todd); daughters Kimberly Bauer (husband Eric Hatfield), Teresa Bauer Pruett Staggs (husband Greg Staggs) and Christina Bauer Sullivan (husband Matt Sullivan), brother Bill Bauer (wife Sandy), sister Alice Bennett; 8 grandsons (Randy, Richard and Samuel Pruett, Dustin Staggs, Jacob, Joshua and Elijah Hatfield and Jonah Sullivan) and four step grandchildren Charity Herold, Lacie Adcock, Casey and Rocky Staggs and a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews.
Richard was the epitome of a “hard worker.” He retired in 2008 after 39 years with General Motors in Bedford, IN as a tool and die maker. A graduate of Bloomington High School, Richard enlisted in the Navy and served 4 years. Later in life he served in the Army reserve, as a Drill Sergeant. Richard taught vocational technical classes in Anderson, IN and Bedford North Lawrence H.S.
Richard pursued several entrepreneurial endeavors including his real estate broker’s license in 1979, Bauer Property Management, D&D Rentals and Abilene Construction, revitalizing nearly 100 homes in Lawrence County. Richard was a member of United Auto Workers (UAW) and the American Legion. He also mentored youngsters as a Boy Scout Leader. He attended the First Assembly of God church with Dorothy.
Richard had a passion for golf that began when he started caddying at 8 years old. He continued to play up until the last year of his life. He participated in many tournaments & scrambles, winning many and enjoyed golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Biloxi. He always got a kick out of betting his playing partners and often collecting on those wagers. Dick thought side bets made anything more interesting.
A lifelong Chicago Cubbies fan and Bears fan. He loved bowling, softball, croquet, and lawn darts. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the track to admire the horses and greyhounds and taught his daughters fractions via the odds board and how to create a trifecta.
He loved country music and his favorite artist was Hank Williams. When it came time to dance, Richard had a truly unique style that resembled what many described as “a chicken scratching and catching raindrops”. It was truly a style all his own.
Richard’s greatest love in life was his wife, three daughters and their children. He lived and worked diligently to provide for his family. He loved his home filled with family, friends, and his children’s friends. The door was always opened, and many requested his advice.
Richard would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, a friend, or stranger. He touched many lives throughout his time on this earth and that is the legacy that he will leave behind.
A celebration of life was held at the Downtown Depot in Bedford on Saturday, January 15th. Many family and friends attended to honor the life of Richard Bauer. Private cremation services will be held at a later date.

Born April 18, 1925, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Mitchell) Inman. On January 7, 1943, she married Raymond R. Easton, who was killed during World War II in Italy. Her second husband was Willis Slone whom she married December 16, 1967, and he preceded her in death March 24, 1991.
Eva Mae and Willis repaired and refinished antique furniture for 22 years.
Her parents, both husbands, and brother, Harold E. Inman, preceded her in death.

Born March 21, 1942, in Monroe Co., he was the son of Earl William Lucas, Sr. and Alice (Butcher) Lucas. He married Janice Wisley on August 23, 1963, and she survives.
He graduated from Smithville High School and attended Indiana University. He owned APW Automotive Store in Bloomington and formerly owned Divine Automotive, and co-owned Full-O-Pep Automotive and ARCO Motors. He was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church and a charter member of the Lions Club. He loved his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Fayetteville; a son, Greg Lucas (Brooke), of Bedford; four granddaughters, Alexis Ann Lucas, Lilly Christina Lucas-Whitmire, Isabella Maryann Lucas, Presley Jayne Lucas, and Brooke’s son, Greyson Lingenfelter; two brothers, Danny Lee Lucas (Cozetta) and Dwight Douglas Lucas (Linda).
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim L. Tolbert, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 16, 2022, at I. U. Hospice House in Bloomington.
He was born November 5, 1958, in Bedford to Jerry L. Tolbert and Carolyn Sue “Roberts” Tolbert. He married Vickie “Dusty” Rout on October 5, 1979, and she survives.
Tim was a 1976 graduate of Mitchell High School. He had worked for Jay-C Foods for 11 years and retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 25 years of service, primarily at Orleans. He was a member of Fishing Creek Christian Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and elder. He was an advisory board member for Bono Township.
Tim enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was also a hunter and trapper in his younger years, and he loved to play pool with his grandsons and his devoted best friend since high school, Frank Hodges.
Survivors included his wife, Dusty; mother, Sue Tolbert; son, Sam (Katie) Tolbert; grandsons, Wyatt Campbell and Wil Tolbert; best friend, Frank Hodges; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2022, at Fishing Creek Christian Church, 752 Bono Road, Mitchell, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Kyle Stewart officiating. Visitation will also be Friday at the church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Talbott Cemetery.

Kim grew up in Plainville, Indiana and was a 1978 graduate of North Daviess High School. She worked at Ace Hardware/Ben Franklin for over 20 years. Kim was a member of the American Legion PostNo. 250 Auxiliary and former member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
Kim enjoyed reading, sewing, and crafting. She loved her family; especially her grandbabies and dogs.

She loved her time with her friends, playing bingo at the Eagles and assisting with those operations while she was able, and playing euchre at the Legion. She had a lot of friends who she cared for very deeply and who she hoped knew how important they all were to her. She also had a deep appreciation for those serving as first responders. Vicki was an EMT and later worked at Crane.
She is survived by a son, Bradley Williams, brother, Monty Tow and his wife, Janet, of Roy, Utah; a sister, Rhonda (Tow) Matthews; nephew, Evan Matthews and his wife, Leanna and his son and daughter, Kameron and Hannah; and niece, Sandra Mathews, all of Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Jean Tow; stepfather, Roy Tow and her maternal grandparents, Ruth (Park) and Carl Scott, all of whom rest in Shoals at the Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of services, due to increased Covid outbreaks, a celebration of life will be held when family can travel home more safely. Information relevant to that celebration will be provided at a later date.

John F. Pinnick, 78, of Orleans passed away on January 16, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in July 30, 1943 in Orleans, IN, the son Fred and Amy (Brooks) Pinnick. He worked at Paoli Inc. for over forty-seven years.
John enjoyed woodworking, collecting guns and watching stock market.
He is survived by one brother, Bill Pinnick of Bedford; one sister, Rheta Pinnick of Bloomington; companion of forty years, Brenda Elrod and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Philip Pinnick, Clyde “Rex” Pinnick and Glenn Pinnick in infancy.

Jason had been employed at Donnelley & Sons Book Binder and was a QMRP for group homes. He enjoyed working for the Special Olympics and loved to do genealogy.
Surviving are his wife, Sheri Lane of Mitchell; twin brothers, Jack Stephen Lane of Terre Haute, Joseph Scott Lane of Terre Haute.
His parents preceded him in death.

Nina Jean Conner, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Born on November 22, 1941, she was the daughter of Juanita (Kennedy) Martin and William Martin. She married Jack Conner on May 23, 1959, who preceded her in death on November 30, 2021.
Nina graduated from Bedford High School and was retired as a secretary from the Joint Services Co-op. Nina was a faithful attendee of the Church of the Nazarene where she served in many different capacities. Nina had a passion for gardening, sewing, cooking and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kim (Matt) Golden and Rhonda (Brian) Martin; two sons, Greg (Lisa) Conner and Gerry Conner; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Shelton (Claire) Kennedy.
Preceding Nina in death were her parents; and husband.
Funeral services for Nina will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford. He was born on December 13, 1943, in Crane, Indiana to Lester Elvis and Mary Jane Newlin Jones. Clyde married Rita Edwards on November 4, 1972, and she survives.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, and 4-brother’s, Herb, Bobby, Woody, and Clifford.
He was retired from Gaylor. Clyde enjoyed riding ATV’s, hunting, and fishing, and spending time with his family.
Clyde was a National Guard Veteran.

Steven Loyd Norman of Bloomington, Indiana was born May 2, 1951 in Lawrence County, Indiana, passed away in his home on January 12, 2022.
Preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Bland; and father, Ralph Norman.
Survived by his wife, Lana Hendrix Norman; daughter, Angela Todd (Mike); and step-daughter, Jessica Spurrier; Grandchildren, Tara, Kaylee, Emily, Blake,Joseph and Jocelyn; Great-grandchildren, Tatelyn, Callie and Logan.
During his life Steven served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard, worked in the stone quarry and at General Electric. He served five terms as President of Local Union 2249 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Steve and Lana enjoyed motorcycles, horses and hunting. Steve taught many friends gun safety and shared his hunting skills with several close friends and family.
Passionate in his political, social, and civil rights beliefs, he leaves behind a strong presence “Fight for what you believe in and stand together.”
Steve will be cremated with a private memorial service for family and close friends at a later date.

Rebekah Sue Dwyer, 68, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born September 24, 1953, in Livonia, she was the daughter of Harold and Edith (Walts) Martin.
Becky retired from Carpenter Body Works and was currently employed at Regeneration. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and mushroom hunting. Becky loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Surviving are her son, Shannon Dwyer of Indianapolis; daughter, Heather (Eric) Taylor of Bedford; grandchildren, Elaina Grace and Chloe Renee Taylor; siblings, Judy Pittman of Tennessee, Joan Martin of Mitchell, June Morlan of Warrensburg, Missouri, John Martin of Mitchell.
Her parents and siblings, Harry “Bud” Martin, Shirley Briscoe, and Reva Mundy preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, at Mitchell Cemetery with Brother Darrin Chastain officiating.

Clifford Dale Patton, 81, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his residence.
He was born December 15, 1940, in Lawrence County, to Enoch and Gertie (New) Patton. He married Karen Sue Bailey on January 25, 1961, and she survives.
Clifford was a Needmore High School graduate and of the Baptist faith. He was a Journeyman and retired from Navistar.
Surviving Clifford are his wife; children, Karlita Sue (Tim Grider) Patton and Tim Patton; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Don, George, Ronnie and Keith Patton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Clifford in death were his parents; siblings, Sam, Mildred, Virginia, James, Kenneth and Linda.
A private, family burial will be held at Mundell Cemetery with Pastor Stephen Carter officiating.

Steve Turner
Steve Turner made waves on this earth for almost 74 years. He was an active boy born January 23, 1948 to Eithel and Margie (Bartlett) Turner, and they preceded him in death.
Steve kept his parents on their toes and on their knees throughout their lives. His sister, Karen (Mike) Atchison, can vouch for that. At 16 he was baptized, but didn’t really make Jesus his Lord. Although his parents “started him off on the way he should go” as instructed in Proverbs 22:6, he lived a wild, risky life that put him near death more than once. He wasn’t proud of his mistakes, but was responsible enough to own up to them. He began settling down as he got older and was sorry about the way he lived. God was merciful and forgiving as He is with us all. Steve decided to “seek the Lord while He may be found; and call on Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 And so the prayers of his family were answered, “when he was old he did not turn from the way he should go.”
He married his wonderful wife, Sherry Ryan, in 1987, and she survives. They had their ups and downs as all couples do, but they took care of each other and loved each other. She was always there for him and he made sure that everything was in order for her. They spent his last month holding hands as he prayed the ABC’s. If you knew Steve and your name started with any letter of the alphabet, you were most likely in his prayers this winter.
He leaves behind a son, John Cummings and daughter-in-law, Lynessa. Although John wasn’t his flesh and blood, and Steve missed out on being his dad the first 12 years of John’s life, Steve was a dad in every sense of the word. He worked hard to make sure that John didn’t make the same mistakes that he did. They didn’t see eye to eye at first, but eventually became very like minded. Steve loved John and would never have dreamed of leaving him. He was a true, loving father. They definitely enjoyed their time together. Steve and Lynessa were the family “outlaws.” They had a tight bond from the moment she entered the family. They spent a lot of time in conversation, encouraging each other through all the rough times and laughing together whenever they could.
Steve was an excellent Papaw to Will and Faith. They had him wrapped around their little fingers from day 1. He played with them when they were little. They sat on his lap and watched John Wayne movies or talked. They shot BB guns and played with the dog. Even as they grew into the young man and young woman they are today, they never tired of listening to his stories and laughing because of his great sense of humor.
Steve also leaves behind nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed here, but his parents are rejoicing that they have been reunited. As the apostle John wrote, “Yet some people accepted Him [Jesus] and put their faith in Him. So He gave them the right to be the children of God.” and “God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent Him to save them!” and “My Father wants everyone who sees the Son to have faith in Him and to have eternal life. Then I will raise them to life on the last day.”
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors John Wisely and Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Born March 21, 1949, in Bedford, he was the son of William E. and Patricia (Johnson) Reynolds. He married Bonita Jones on June 15, 1974, and she survives. He was a retired factory worker and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Bonita, of Bedford; three children, Elisha Reynolds, of Bedford, Jari Reynolds, of Mitchell, and Ashley Reynolds, of Bedford; his father, of Mitchell; seven grandchildren, Kierra Weaver, Kayla Weaver, Kameron Lawyer, Kerrigan Lawyer, Treven Reynolds, Trenton Reynolds, and Brooklyn Mattingly.

Born June 1, 1942 in Bedford, he was the son of Winford and Alice (Chase) Case. He married Janice Hauger March 10, 1962.
Tom retired from General Motors with 43 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and building computers. Tom was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ and had served as an elder and deacon. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1960.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Case of Mitchell; children, Marsha Wolf of Madison, Wisconsin, Lanny (Deanna) Case of Orleans, Rebecca (Tharon) Hall of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Leah (Justin) Jones, Isaac Hall, Jeremiah Hall, Priscilla Hall, Elizabeth Case, and Steven Case; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Nicholson of Campbellsburg.
His parents preceded him in death.

Maxine Agnes “Mickey” Doub, 89, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Indiana University Health Paoli Hospital.
Born August 1, 1932, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Walter and Jenny (Gentry) Gilstrap. She married Jackie Lee Doub October 15, 1949, and he preceded her in death October 31, 2013.
Mickey had been employed at Head Start. She was a member of the Mitchell Presbyterian Church and founding member of the White River Bowhunters where she received several awards. She and Jack were leaders for the Boy and Girl Scouts. Mickey was an expert seamstress and wallpaper hanger. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and grandma “mamaw.” Mickey will be remembered as a loving, caring, and kind woman.

Shirley Ann Cheatham Peachee, 70, of Salvisa, KY formerly of Indiana, wife of George L. Peachee, II, passed away January 11, 2022 at Baptist Health Lexington.
Daughter of the late Elrod Cheatham and Elma G. Lane Cheatham, she was born January 14, 1951 in Scottsburg, Indiana.
Shirley received an Associate’s Degree from Vincennes University in Vincennes, IN and worked as a computer programmer for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, IN. A member and served on the Decorating Committee at the Salvisa Baptist Church, she enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, and painting. She was a member of the Kentuckiana Decorative Artist Society in Louisville, the Bluegrass Tolers Decorative Artists in Versailles, and the Lake Cumberland Decorative Artist Society in Somerset.
Including George, her husband of 50 years, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer L. Peachee-Harris and her husband Shannon of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Finch T. Harris and Odin A. Harris; two sisters, Loretta (husband Dean) Tyler and Ruby (husband Richard) Gobber; and a brother, Jim Cheatham.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15th from 12 -1 PM followed by the service at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Johnathan Jones will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery in Anderson County, KY.

She was born in Ono, Pennsylvania on February 6, 1933 to H. Carl Shuey and Ernestine (Albert) Shuey. She married Rev. Herman K. Noll on April 18, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2012.
She attended the Bedford Free Methodist Church, she attended Jonestown High School, she previously worked at the Hershey Chocolate Factory and was in the Ministry with her husband for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Sexton of Bedford; two grandsons, Dr. Jonathan (Suzanne) Dillman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ryan Dillman of Bedford; one brother, Larry (Martha) Shuey of Ono, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Carlena (Glenn) Spitler of Ono, Pennsylvania, and Jean (John) Yount of Greenville, South Carolina; seven great grandchildren, Kathryn Dillman, Madison Dillman, Meghan Dillman, Claire Dillman, Everlee Dillman, Ashlan Masse, and Kirsten Sexton.

Jewell M. Storms, 103, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Stone Bridge Health Campus, Bedford.
She was born March 22, 1918, in Orange County, Indiana, to Noble and Minnie (Tolbert) Felknor. She married Herman Michael Storms on October 3, 1936, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2003.
Jewell attended Bedford High School and was a homemaker. She was an avid bowler for almost 50 years and later belonged to Broadview Senior League, Club #55. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She loved sports, especially the Pacers, I. U. and the Colts. She enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She was one of a kind.
Surviving Jewell is her daughter, Beverly (Kenneth) Ikerd of Bedford; grandchildren, John (Kelly) Storms, Kenneth (Donna) Ikerd II, both of Bedford, Lisa (Greg) Conner of Sevierville, Tennessee and Mark Storms of Vincennes; eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
Preceding Jewell in death were her parents; husband; a son, Michael M. Storms; one great grandchild; five sisters; and one brother.

Janet S. King of Springville passed away January 12, 2022.
She was born January 21,1937 in Springville, IN. She was the oldest of three siblings born to Cledis and Coy (Hall) Hubbard. In 1955 she married the love of her life, Larry E. King and remained happily married for over 65 years. They had three children, Barry W. King (Michelle), Byron S. King (Kimberly) and Melissa L. (King) Noel (Eric).
She is survived by her husband Larry, her brother, Michael (Deniese), sister-in-law, Ruby, her children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and well known throughout the community. She graduated from Oolitic High School in 1955, then went on to earn a Master of Education from Indiana University after dedicating several years focused on family. She taught kindergarten at Parkview Elementary in Bedford for 15 years, retiring in 1994. Janet was active, with Larry, in square dancing, and genealogy. She also volunteered countless hours, alongside Larry, to bring The Lawrence County Museum of History from a dream to a reality. Together they also volunteered with the interpretive staff at Spring Mill Park reenacting historical stories in the Pioneer Village. Janet was also an accomplished musician. She served many years as the accompanist for the Springville United Methodist Church.
Janet attended Springville United Methodist Church where she and Larry served in many capacities and cheerfully volunteered to help with many church programs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Springville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Born February 4, 1943, in Bedford, he was the son of Coy and Hazel (Sullivan) Johnson. He married his wife, Janie (Jones) on January 25, 1970 and she survives.
Richard (Dick) was a hard-working truck driver for many years. He was an amazing, smart witted, loving husband, dad, papaw, and brother who loved his family deeply. He loved to go fishing, deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. He wanted to teach all the great grandkids how to fish with him. He especially loved his wife cooking him breakfast that was his favorite meal of the day. Also, we can’t forget about his dogs. He took his dogs everywhere with him specially to go get a cheeseburger.
Survivors include his dearest wife, Janie Johnson, of Bedford; a brother, Lloyd Johnson, of Heltonville; children, Sonya (Tim) Lagle, of Bedford, Richard Johnson, Jr., of Bedford, Shannon (Carol Banks) Johnson, of Bedford, David Johnson, of Bedford; grandchildren, Stacia Johnson, Kyiana (David) Hess, Keasha (David) Cobb, Richard Johnson, Brittany Grissome, Mathew (Taylor) Johnson, LaShay Asbury, Dakota Stinson, Javen Workman, Kaylynn (Jordan) Cavins, Dakota Johnson, Gage Johnson, Alexus Johnson, all of Bedford; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Johnson; sisters, Norma Box, Betty Smith, Wonda Harley, and Mary Black; a great-grandson, Blaydon Cobb and a great-granddaughter, Legacy Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18th at the Peerless Trinity Pentecostal Church, 30 Peerless Church Road, Bedford, with Pastor Aaron Swafford officiating. Burial will follow at Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the church.

Ashlynn Skylar Gilmore was born into the arms of the angels at 1:54 a.m., January 8, 2022, the daughter of Erica Nichole Taflinger and Lucas Donald Gilmore of Bedford.
Ashlynn is survived by her maternal grandparents, Mick and Sarah Taflinger of Bedford and Carrie and Thomas Gordon of California; paternal grandparents, Timothy and Elizabeth Gilmore of Bedford; maternal great grandparents, Patricia and Gary Luttrell of Bedford, Sharon Baker of California, Terry and Calvin Gordon of California and Debby and Joe Wilson of Bedford; and paternal great grandparent, Ann Patton of Bedford.
Preceding Ashlynn in death were her maternal great grandparents, Michael Baker of California and Michael Taflinger of Orleans; paternal great grandparents, Donald E. Patton and Jimmy D. and Sandra Gilmore.

Lena Ann (Ross) Woodward, 95, of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at I. U. Hospice House, Bloomington.
She had been a resident of Stone Bridge Health Campus for eight years. She was born March 4, 1926, in Bedford, to John and Mary Rose (DeMarca) Ross. She married Burl George Woodward on April 21, 1943, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2015.
Lena attended Oolitic High School and worked at RCA, Bloomington, for 32 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the St. Vincent Altar Society and a volunteer at the St. Vincent Thrift Shop.
Surviving Lena are her sons, John (Libby) Woodward of Virginia Beach, Virginia and David (Jane) Woodward of Bedford; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susie Woodward of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lena in death were her parents; husband; son, Thomas Woodward; one grandchild; two brothers, Joe and Jim Ross; and six sisters, Angie Eagan, Sophia Markiano, Mary Ruth Capperilla, JoAnn Moscato, Mary Ross and Frances Fish.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Jegan Peter and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. A Rosary will be prayed preceding the Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, also at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. There will be no public visitation.

Born January 8, 1948, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of William and Ruth (Gahimer) Southworth. She married Leroy Vanscoy April 6, 1966, and he preceded her in death December 6, 2018.
Lillian had been employed at the Jay-C Deli and had assisted her husband with his business. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was a very sweet and generous person.
Lillian was a member of the Mitchell First Church of God.
Surviving are her son, Lee (Christy Ann) Vanscoy of Mitchell; grandchildren, Cody, Audriana, Jazlyn; twin sister, Janet Spain of Ohio; brothers, William Southworth of Shelbyville, David Southworth of Shelbyville.

Dorene M. Dakin age 71 of Bedford passed away on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at 4:29 pm at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington.
She was born in Taylor County, Kentucky on November 24, 1950 to Wesley Pace and Ruth (Dix) Pace. She married Emery Dakin on December 25, 2001 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2011. Dorene was a truck driver for Werner Trucking.
Survivors include her daughter, Valleri (Jeff) Tirey of Bedford, son, Sean (Christine) Ireland of New Albany, one brother, Robert Pace of Tennessee, one sister, Mildred Comstock of Florida, four grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Stanley E. Guthrie age 80 passed away on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at 2:34 am at White River Lodge in Bedford.
He was born in Jackson County on July 1, 1941 to William R. “Sharkie” Guthrie and Mollie (Murphin) Guthrie. Stanley married Brenda Cochrane on March 31, 1973 and she survives.
Stanley attended Sparksville School and graduated from Medora High School Class of 1959, he was an Injection Mold Technician at ITT Plastics in Medora, then Cummins Engine Company, and at Visteon in Bedford, he was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Guthrie of Seymour, one daughter, Melissa (Greg) Spence of Brownstown, three grandchildren, Caleb (Heather) Spence, Joshua Spence, and Kimberly Prewitt, two great grandchildren, Ella Spence and Jensen Campbell, one brother, George R. (Arlene) Guthrie of Columbus, one sister, Clara (Jerry) Deaton of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Melinda J. Guthrie, five brothers, Jim Guthrie, Mike Guthrie, Arthur Guthrie, Patrick Joseph Guthrie, and Johnny Guthrie in infancy, two sisters, Myrtle Arnold and Grace Guthrie in infancy.

Born September 21, 1945, in Bryantsville, she was the daughter of William Milton and Violet Pearl (Ryburn) Grissom.
Vilena drove a truck for FedEx and later in life, she was a home healthcare provider.
She graduated from Mitchell High School with the Class of 1963.
Surviving are her son, Brent (Melissa) Price of Salem; grandson, Lane Price of Salem; granddaughter, Mallory Price of Salem; several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; sister, Martha Atchason; four brothers, Douglas, Ryburn, Richard (Dick), and Forrest; and nephew, Doug Atchason, preceded her in death.

Barry retired from Cook Medical and was also a funeral director. He was of the Christian faith.

Joseph “Smitty” Blaine Schmidt, 69, of Bedford, passed away on January 9, 2022, at I.U. Health Hospital in Bedford.
Born August 13, 1952, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of John David Schmidt and Betty Jean (Gambrel) Schmidt.
Joe was a graduate of Bedford High School and attended Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. He was an artist by trade working for Johnny’s Signs, being self- employed and most recently, HD Graphix, where he retired from in 2016. He was old school when it came to pinstriping and painting signs, all freehand. He enjoyed drawing with fine point ink and composing manuscripts. When the weather was nice, he was always on the move, taking joy rides to Spring Mill State Park or Williams, Indiana. He loved spending time with his family and 3 grandchildren. Joe was a faithful member of Work of God Church in Mitchell.
He was the proud father of son, Jonathon and wife, Natasha, of Bedford and brother to siblings, David and wife, Kathy, of Temple Terrance, FL, Danny, of Bedford, Winston and wife, Liz, of Cincinnati, OH, Nancy Ashley and husband, Gregory, of Bedford. Proud grandpa of his three grandchildren, Kingston, Bryson and Beckham and good ole’ Uncle Joe to his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dr. Raymond Duncan of Bedford died on Saturday, January 8 at Bliss Place Senior Living Facility where he was a resident.
He was born in Bedford to Benjamin and Maggie (Willman) Duncan on October 17, 1922. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian (Guthrie) and two brothers, Rex and Russell Duncan.
He was the proud father of four children, Ben Duncan (Bloomington, IN), David Duncan (Indianapolis, IN), Laura Herthel (Bedford, IN), and Sarah (Troy) Kinder, (Bedford, IN). His family also includes four grandchildren, Chad Kinder (Bloomington, IN), Leah (Eric) Moorman (French Lick, IN), Kara Herthel (Bedford, IN) and Kristen (Dan) Sanchez (Indianapolis, IN) and one great-grandson, Ivan Moorman.
Dr. Duncan was a graduate of Bedford High School (Class of 1940). He was also a graduate of both Indiana University and Indiana University School of Medicine. He practiced Medicine in the Bedford area for 42 years. He was one of the founding physicians of the Edgewood Clinic which is now IU Health Bedford Hospital.
He was a proud Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford.
The Funeral Service will take place at Cresthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jeffrey Bower officiating. There will be visitation prior to the service from 11am – 1pm.
Final resting place will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Born September 5, 1925, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Oscar and Bernice (Harner) Sorrells. Jeanne married Robert L. Edwards on January 8, 1944, and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Shoals.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Jerry) Waldron of Bedford, Connie Jones of Jasper; one son, Bob (Renita Brown) Edwards of Bedford; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Qualkenbush of Shoals, and Marilyn Hardwick of Shoals; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and sister in infancy, and two grandsons, Bryan Edwards and Josh Waldron.

Frank Chase
On Dec. 28th, 2021, days following the loss of his loving wife of 73 years, Frank Chase left us.
He will be remembered by his three sons Steven & Beth Chase (Albuquerque), Brian & Vicki Chase (Minnetonka, MN), and David Chase (Albuquerque); grandchildren, Alexandra Chase (Albuquerque), Amanda Chase & James Blaine (Las Cruces, NM), Kathleen & Ben Wilinski (Minnetonka, MN), Andrew Chase & Bridgette Eickhoff (Shakopee, MN), Christopher Chase (Albuquerque), Mattia & Mitchell Espinosa (Alexandria, VA); great grandchildren, Noah, James & Lucas Wilinski (Minnetonka, MN).
Following his tour of duty as a radio operator on the super cruiser USS Toledo, Frank returned to his hometown of Bedford, Indiana, where, along with his new bride Eva Dossen, he began a successful career in the automobile business as President of Chase Chevrolet, Inc. Frank & Eva retired to Albuquerque, NM in 1982.
Frank loved Indiana University sports as well as Indianapolis Colts football… (especially when they won)! He was a founding member of the Hoosier Hills Ham Club of Lawrence County, served on the board of Bedford Federal, Ideal Club, Masonic Lodge and the Bedford Elks Club. A joint memorial service will be held with his wife Eva, at a later date.

Billy Jack Lashlee, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at his residence.
Born October 10, 1953, in Malvern, Arkansas, he was the son of Billie Benson “Red” and Virginia Lee (Burton) Lashlee. He married Kimberly Louise (Hart) Smoot October 15, 2013.
Jack retired from Naval Weapons Support Center — Crane. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1971 and was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Indiana National Guard.
Jack was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 250 and a past director of the Legion Riders. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M. and La-Or-Ma Shrine Club.
Jack loved his family, dogs, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid reader and enjoyed golf and rodeos. Jack was well known for his red beans and rice.
Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Lashlee of Mitchell; children, Kristina Marie (Rusty) Sears of Mitchell, Kyle Benson (Jody) Lashlee of Franklin; step children, Scott (Mindy) Smoot of Mitchell, Stephanie Jones of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Jackie Sears, Alexandra (Shannon) Jones, Chase Sears, Tevin Lashlee, Dayson Lashlee, Preston Lashlee, Owen Smoot, Willy Smoot, and Gunner McNabb; brother, Bob Burton Lashlee of Kokomo.

Warren worked at Lowes and Walmart before he retired, he was a proud member of the Eastern Greene FFA and former member of the Springville Odd Fellows.
Surviving relatives include his father, Bobby R. Meek Sr., one brother, Bobby R. (Elizabeth) Meek Jr., one sister Rebecca (Chris) Clayton and his niece and nephews.

Born December 24, 1937, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Wallis and Delia (Moore) Gilbert. She was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1956. She married Jack Pace on February 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2010.
She retired as a factory worker from RCA and M. Fine & Sons. She enjoyed sewing, walking, gardening, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Korvela, of Bedford and Sandy Young and husband, Marty, of Norman; a son, Dennis Pace, of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Kama Stigall and husband, Dan, Jennifer Baum and husband, Chad, Marty Young, Jr. and wife, Abbigail, Kray Korvela, Kody Korvela and wife, Leann, Landrey Pace and Jack Pace; six great-grandchildren, Cole, Claire, Cosbee, Shade, Pace, and Maddy; a brother, Voy Gilbert, of Oolitic.

Patricia Louise Lyons, 83, of Springville, passed away on January 5, 2022 at her residence.
Born on January 27, 1938, she was the daughter of George and Dova (Mason) Cummings. She married Larry Ray Lyons on October 19, 1957 at the Bedford Free Methodist Church, and he survives.
Patricia attended the Free Methodist Church of Bedford, was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a former member of the Eagles and the Bedford Boat and Sportsman’s Club. She had attended Heltonville Schools and graduated with the Shawswick High School class of 1956. She had worked at G.E. in Bloomington and Hooks Drugs before staying home as a homemaker.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Patricia is her husband Larry; one daughter, Donna (Ken) Ikerd of Bedford; two sons, Gary (Marla) Lyons of Heltonville and Chris (Amanda) Lyons of Williams; six grandchildren, Eric Lyons, Brandi Clark, Sean Lyons, Stephanie Brock, Kevin Ikerd and Kaci Ikerd; two step grandchildren, Jacob Blackburn and Caleb Blackburn; and nine great-grandchildren.

Osie Kathleen “Kathy” Ashabraner, 69, of Orleans, passed away on at 1:10 AM on January 5, 2022 at Mitchell Manor.
She was born November 12, 1952 in Orleans, IN, the daughter of Ruel and Hazel (Coulter) Terrell.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacy Morgan of Pekin, IN; one son, Jeremy Ashabraner (Teresa) of Mitchell; six grandchildren; Casey, Alex, Shalyn, Jacob, Dakota and Justice; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Tim and Jeff Terrell and one sister Mardie Terry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Terrell.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans with Thomas Bostic officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.

Katheryn L. “Katie” Mullinax, 77, of Bedford, passed away January 2, 2022, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
She was born October 22, 1944, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to Lawrence and Helen (Vaught) Ellis. She married James David Mullinax I, on August 23, 1967, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1984.
Katie graduated from Deputy High School in Indiana, class of 1962, was a U. S. Army Veteran and worked at Crane (Army side) in Ammunitions. She attended Highview Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion Cecil C. Martin Lodge Post #250 of Mitchell. Katie loved riding horses and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was very generous and kindhearted.
Surviving Katie are her daughters, Lisa (Keith) Roler of Bedford and Mindy (Troy) Scott of Heltonville; son, James David Mullinax II, of Bedford; grandchildren, Logan Eric (Sydney) Scott Bloomington and Tyler Lee Scott of Heltonville; sisters, Marilyn (Don) Tirey of Oolitic, Becky (Ronnie) Pierce and Sue McPherson, both of Mitchell; brothers, Eddie Joe (Linda) Ellis and Don Charles (Judy) Ellis, both of Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; special extended family, Joe and Connie Scott; and her dog, Gunner.
Preceding Katie in death were her parents; brother, Dean Ellis; and brother-in-law, Terry McPherson.
Funeral services for Katie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with Pastor Danny Goens officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Cecil C. Martin Lodge Post #250 of Mitchell with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Ferguson-Lee Chapel.

James W. Pemberton, 88, of Mitchell, formally of Orleans, passed away at 8:24 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his residence.
He was born November 18, 1933 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Oscar James and Marguerite (Sullivan) Pemberton. He married Norma (Eigel) Pemberton on July 3, 1955 and she survives.
James was a veteran of the United States Airforce. He was an operations manager at Kimball International in Jasper for several years. Jim attended the Faith Mission Church in Bedford. He graduated from Orleans High School, Class of 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of Mitchell; three children; Marilyn “Susie” (Brian) Hutslar of Paoli; Travis J. (Tammie) Pemberton of Loogootee and Brandi (Tim) Johnson of Orleans; three grandchildren; Zachary, Elijah and Gavin; one brother, Alan (Dana) Pemberton of Bedford, IN; two sisters; Joyce (Leland) Barley and Brenda (Loren) Williams, both of Orleans, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eddie Pemberton and Gary Pemberton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home with Bro. J. Stevan Manley and Bro. Aaron Wardlaw officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Orleans, IN.

Nancy Jo Eagan age 64 of Bedford passed away on Sunday January 2, 2022 at 3:18 Pm at IU Health in Bedford.
She was born in December 28, 1957 to Paul Eagan and Sue (Conolty) Eagan. Nancy was a Hairdresser for 35 years.
Survivors include her children, Natalie Banks Morales and husband Richard of Bedford and Nicholas Banks of Bedford, her mother Sue Eagan of Bedford, two brothers, Steve Eagan and Jeff Eagan of Bedford, one sister, April Eagan Dorsett of Bedford, three grandchildren, Paislee LuAllen, Payton Morales and Tucker.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Eagan.
Cremation was chosen.

Susan Elaine (Moore) Furnace age 45 of Bedford passed away on Monday January 3, 2022 at IU Health in Bedford.
She was born in Bedford on July 25, 1976 to Thomas Moore and Pamela (Brown) Moore. Susan was a 1994 Graduate of BNL High School and worked many years at Pizza Hut in Bedford. She attended the Bedford First Church of God.
Susan is survived by her two children, Logan Furnace (Haley Sykes) of Bedford, and Tori Furnace (Trayton Fisher) of Bedford, her parents, Tom and Pam Moore of Springville, one brother, Terry (Vanessa) Moore of Bedford, one sister, Jennifer Smith (Jason Guthrie) of Mitchell, four nieces and nephews, Gaven Moore, Makena Moore, and Easton Moore all of Bedford and Madison Smith of Mitchell, aunts and uncles, Debbie (Dave) Southern of Heltonville, Eva Chenault of Bedford, Monty (Dawn) Brown of Mitchell, Edward (Dixie) Moore of Bedford, Carol (John) Fish of Bedford and Rick (Angie) Moore of Shoals, several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis and Margie Moore and Hurstle and Ocie Brown.
Funeral services will be on Friday January 7, 2022 at 1:00 Pm at the Bedford First Church of God at 3131 16th Street Bedford, Indiana. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Bedford First Church of God, and on Friday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at the church.

Virginia Rose Lane, 92, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Hanover Nursing Center.
Born April 8, 1929, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Elwood and Mabel (Bennett) Newlin. She married Ernest William Lane July 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death August 9, 2006.
Rose was a 67 year member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church and had been custodian for many years. She had served as past director of the Wesleyan Women. Rose enjoyed reading and was a 1946 graduate of Paoli High School.
Surviving are her children, David Keith (Susan) Lane of Gallatin, Tennessee, Martha Rose (Barry) Banks of Madison; grandchildren, Rebecca Lane, Sarah McDaniel, Michael Helton, Robert (Amy) Helton, Melody (Rory) Martin, Angela Banks; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Derek, Jesse, Natasha, Clarissa, Donavon, Katie, and John; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, at the Mitchell Wesleyan Church with Reverend Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Vonda L. Bunch, 51, of Bedford, died on December 31st at IU Health Bedford.
Born September 21, 1970, in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of Rodger Terrell and Merle (Watson) Hughes. She married Brian Bunch on June 15, 1990, and he survives. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Brian, of Bedford; five children, Natosha Caudill and husband Kevin, of Bedford, Kelsey Bunch and husband Chris Marksberry, of Bedford, Jacob Bunch, of Silverville, Brittney Bunch, of Bedford, and Justin Bunch, of Bedford; eighteen grandchildren; two sisters, Rhonda Cole and Fonda Drehobl, both of Bedford; three step-brothers, Tommy Hughes, Jesse Hughes, and Brian Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Thomas Hughes; and a sister, Shawnda Terrell.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 6th at Patton Hill cemetery with Clarence Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Michael David Johnson

Michael David Johnson completed his earthly journey and was welcomed into the mansions of heaven on Thursday, December 30th, 2021.
A forty year resident of Bedford, Indiana, Michael lived a life of service and sacrifice to the state and nation, both as a serviceman and a distinguished police officer. Michael was the founder and president of the American Police Canine Association. With vast experience as a Master Trainer for patrol and narcotics, Michael trained over 7000 canine police dog handlers and their canines throughout the country. Many canine experts owe their careers to his mentorship and passionate expertise.
Mike earned his criminology degree from Arizona State University. Over three decades, he served various ranks as an officer within the Bedford Police Department beginning as a DARE officer. Prior to his law enforcement career, he served seven years in the US Navy aboard the USS Norton Sound and the USS Pelalu.
Michael was born August 23, 1957, to Milan and Marilyn Ruth (Stewart) Johnson in Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by Bonnie, his wife and partner of 32 years. His four children, Michelle Miller (Bo) of Bedford, Indiana, Amanda Wilson (Joey Belviy) of Charlestown, Indiana, Phillip Mills (Ashley) of Martinsville, Indiana, and Matthew Mills (Marina) of Henderson, Nevada, will miss their father deeply. His nine grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews adored their grandfather and uncle. He is also survived by his mother, Marilyn Ruth Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona, and one brother, Dr. Fred W. Johnson of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Preceding him in death are his father, Dr. Milan H. Johnson, his sister, Tasha Faye Vatistas, and his brother, Norman Todd Johnson.
Among Michael’s last words were these: “The quality of my life is measured by serving the God that I love, the family I raised, the friendships I made, the officers I developed, and the people I served.” We are indeed grateful for his life and lasting contributions.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, at the Bedford First Baptist Church with a memorial service conducted by the Stone City FOP Lodge No. 94. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Gillen Post No. 33.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the church.

Born February 8, 1937, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Samuel and Rena May (Cornish) Smith. She married Charles E. Sutton on March 20,1973 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2010. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Terri Goddard and husband, Jeff, of Vero Beach, FL, Susan Duke of Terre Haute, Tammy Chambers, of Bloomington and Kimberly Roberts, of Bedford; six grandchildren, Joe and Matt Duke, Michele McDonald, Brandy Fleener, Myra and Leroy Roberts; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Leroy Fleener; two grandchildren, Jamie Luttrell, and Christopher Buchannan; four sisters; one brother.

Cindy A. (Limeberry) Crockett, 60, of Orleans, Indiana, passed away at 11:25 AM on December 28, 2021 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
She was born September 18, 1961 in Bedford, IN, the daughter of Gerald Limeberry and Doris (Toliver) Fancher. She married David Crockett on April 14, 2007, and he survives.
Cindy graduated from the Orleans High School, Class of 1980, and was a member of The Crossroads Community Church. She loved life, GOD, her kids and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors, flowers, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband David of Orleans; her mother, Doris Fancher; five children, Heidi (Bryan) Robertson of Bloomington, Miranda (Paul) Gillespie of Mitchell, Rebecca Terrell of Orleans, Hannah Terrell (Nick Howe) of Bedford and Levi Terrell of Orleans; fifteen grandchildren; and one sister, Jill (Roger) Jacobs, of Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans with Lyndon Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Claysville Cemetery in Campbellsburg, Indiana. Friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
