Jones – Jamie Alan Jones of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at his residence. Born on July 5, 1977, he was the son of William L. and Kathy E. (Gibbs) Jones. Surviving are his mother, Kathy E. Wininger, of Mitchell, IN; his father and step-mother, Bill and Kathy Jones, of Mitchell, IN; three brothers: Eric Jones and wife, Trena, T.J. Jones and Aaron Jones, all of Mitchell, IN; two sisters: Tia Jones and Katie Jones, both of Mitchell, IN; three step-brothers: Dr. Tyson Medlock and wife, Kristin, of Lafayette, IN, Tanner Medlock and wife, Dana, of Mitchell, IN, and Tate Medlock of Indianapolis, IN; grandparents: Roy Gibbs, Helen and Harold Seacat, Burl Jones, all of Shoals, IN, and Bob and Barbara Hall of Bedford, IN; three nieces: Loren Jones, Barbara Eilers, and Stephanie Neimeler; one nephew, Alex Jones; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gene Gibbs. He was a member of the Class of 1995 of Mitchell High School and a graduate of KJ's Barber School. He was self-employed at Jones Barber Shop in Mitchell, IN. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 250 and the Mitchell Lions Club. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2006, at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Shoals, IN, with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Smithers – Jerry Smithers of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the Westview Manor Nursing Home in Bedford, IN. Born on October 3, 1941, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of John and Hazel Ruth (Mitchell) Smithers. Surviving are one son, David Smithers of Pendleton, IN; two sisters: Mary Loving of West Palm Beach, FL, and Susie May and husband, Roger, of Bedford, IN; one brother, John Smithers of Bedford, IN; one niece, Christina Jones and husband, Eric, of Mitchell, IN; and one nephew, Roger May, Jr., of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Smithers. He was an apartment manager in Indianapolis, IN. There will be no services. Cremation was chosen with interment at a later date. Memorial contributions may be considered to the American Diabetes Association. Sowder – Florence Sowder of Heltonville, IN, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born on June 8, 1924, she was the daughter of Delmar Russel and Laura (Kirk) Smale. She married Birtle Roy Sowder on December 3, 1942, and he preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons: Larry Dean (Butch) Sowder and wife, Nancy, of Bartlettsville, IN, and D. Randy Sowder and wife, Gina, of New Whiteland, IN; one daughter, Rita Thompson and husband, John, of Bloomington, IN; one sister, Gertrude Goodman of Heltonville, IN; two brothers-in-law: Plass Johnson of Bedford, IN, and Gerald Sowder of Bedford, IN; two sisters-in-law: Mildred Acuff of Ellettsville, IN, and Freedona Scott of Heltonville, IN; nine grandchildren: Jeffrey, Brian, Kevin, Kelly, Kyle, Cindy, David and Robert; four step-grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Tracy and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren: Taylor, Sydney, Courtney, Tanner, Paris, Bailey and Kyra. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandson, Justin, one brother, Jerry Smale, and three sisters: Emma Lee Johnson, Helen Baker and Marjorie Ford. She was a homemaker and a member of the Heltonville Christian Church. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at the Bartlettsville Christian Church in Bartlettsville, IN, with Brother Larry Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery. Allen – Helen Thelma Lantz Allen of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the White River Lodge in Bedford, IN. Born on July 19, 1913, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Jack and Leafie (Brown) Lantz. Surviving are one daughter, Janet Fleetwood and husband, Donald, of Bedford, IN; one son, Harold Allen and wife, Elaine, of Heltonville, IN; two brothers: Russell Lantz of Alabama and Doyle Lantz of Florida; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and nine brothers. She retired from Stone City Products in 1975. Private family services are scheduled for a later date. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford, IN. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford, IN.

Johnson – Kenneth William Johnson of Bedford, IN, died Friay, July 28, 2006, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on April 6, 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Thomas Merle and Lelia (Johnson) Johnson. He married Dorothy Irene May on December 10, 1948, and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2001. Surviving are two sons: Jan S. Johnson and wife, Judy, of Bedford, IN, and Jay Johnson and wife, Ok Sun, of Indianapolis, IN; and one daughter: Deborah Floyd and husband, Roger, of Ellettsville, IN, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arthur L. Johnson, and one sister, Ruth Thomas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. He was the chief financial officer for Indiana Limeston Company in Bedford for thirty-five years, retiring in 1986. He was a sixty-year member of the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. and was of the Christian faith. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford, IN, with Reverend Richard Chase officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by members of the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006, at the funeral home.

Pickett – Marcella J. Pickett of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Florida Hospital in Palm Coast, FL. Born on February 11, 1945, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Emmett H. and Mable (Acton) Dalton. She married Paul T. Pickett and he preceded her in death in 2000. Surviving are five sons: H. Don Moore and wife, Lisa, of Bedford, IN, Paul E. Pickett of Grovetown, GA, Tim Pickett of Jacksonville, FL, Darrell Pickett and Ernest Picket, both of Leesburg, FL; five daughters: Mary Snyder of Vunnell, FL, Mary Beth Pickett and Sandra Chambers, both of Ohio, Starr Palmer of West Virginia and Floryann Biggs of Florida; twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Emmett Dalton. She was a retired nurse's aid at the Bedford Regional Medical Center and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford, IN. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2006, at the funeral home. Ball – W. Dean Ball of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Stone Bridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born on July 29, 1938, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Noble and Lillie Edith (Owen) Ball. He married Mary Catherine Cox on October 4, 1988, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons: Gary Ball and wife, Linda, of Cecilia, KY, Noble Ball and wife, Elaine, of Heltonville, IN, and Vernon Ball and wife, Lucinda, of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Mary Edith Gilmore and husband, Mark, of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Floyd Ball of Bedford, IN; four step-daughters: Cathy Jean Mitchell and husband, Mike, of Bedford, IN, Sherry Lynn Hall and husband, P. Emerson, of Clearsprings, Carlotta A Beavers of Martin County, and Toni D. Sturgill and husband, Bruce, of Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Mildred Ball. He was a self-employed school bus driver, truck driver, auctioneer and produce seller. Sims of Williams, IN, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Mitchell Manor in Mitchell, IN. Born on November 25, 1929, she was the daughter of Lowell and Bessie (Daniel) Bridges. She married Glen Sims on December 24, 1967, and he preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters: Pam Sims of Clinton, OK, and Penny Northcutt and husband, Dwaine, of Ponca City, OK; one son, Kendall Sims of Jersey City, NJ; one granddaughter, Lisa Brooks and husband, Ron, of Guthrie, OK; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a retired school teacher and a Pink Lady volunteer for Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, IN. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pat Blyeth officiating. No calling hours are scheduled. Terry – Cathy Terry of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at her residence. Born on August 29, 1954, in Sullivan, IN, she was the daughter of George Harrison and Lois Maxine (Anderson) Long. She married Randall Terry and he preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving are two daughters: Christine Terry of Bedford, IN, and Deanna Tuell and husband, Matthew, of Bedford, IN; three sons: Charles Long, Danny Brosamle and wife Stacey, all of Bedford, IN, and Dustin Hardwick of Linton, IN; one sister, Judy Stockart and husband, Jeff, of Ellettsville, IN; one brother, Harrison Long and wife, Lynn, of Jasonville, IN; and six grandchildren: Brittany Long, Taylor, Jasmine and Zachary Brosamle, and Isaac and Quinton Hardwick. Arthur – Everett Arthur, Jr. of Springville, IN, died Monay, July 24, 2006, at his residence. Born on February 3, 1929, he was the son of Everett and Chloe (Smith) Arthur. He married Delight Hayes on March 20, 1954, and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy Baker and husband, Gregory; two grandsons: Aaron and Daniel; one sister, Joyce Arthur-Haywood and husband, Larry; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Arthur; one nephew, Jeff Arthur; two nieces, Sandra Imhoff and Lori Phillips; four great-nieces and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Arthur; two infant daughters, and a brother and sister in infancy. He was employed by Armstrong Farm Company and then was self-employes by Marathon Oil Company and Mullis Petroleum as a fuel distributor. He was a life member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. His passion in life was going to church, spending time with family, gardening and singing. Born on September 20, 1917, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Willie Newton and Lorenia (Reynolds) Eggers. He married Roxie Lillian Tincher on February 27, 1939, and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters: Josephine Eggers Horton and husband, Charles, of Norman, IN; Lela Mae Eggers Hackney and husband, Carson, and Nancy Lorenia Eggers all of Bedford, IN; one son, William Henry Eggers and wife, Shirley, of Bedford, IN; one sister: Ruth Marie Eggers Ross of Bedford, IN; five grandchildren: Dianna L. Hackney Fisher and husband, Gary, Jeffrey A. Hackney and wife, Lisa, Jill Ann Rose, W. David Eggers and Teddy Joe Eggers; seven great-grandchildren: Lucas and wife, Lacey, Sarah, Benjamin Fisher, Heather, Holly, Taylor Hackney, and Angela Rose; one great-granddaughter, Shelby Rose Pruett; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ray W. Eggers, and a great-grandson, Jason Rose. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired in 1973 as a supervisor at NWSC Crane. Reynolds of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, IN. Born on March 19, 1925, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Carl and Anna (Wright) Reynolds. He married Roanna Cooper on December 16, 1943, and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters: Connie Ruth Stoll of Chandler, IN, Elana Ro Reynolds at home, and Michelle Lynn Porter of Orleans, IN; one son, Dearl C. Reynolds of Mitchell, IN; two grandchildren, who were reared in the home: Jill A. Saman of Alpharetta, GA, and Brian R. Reynolds of Bedford, IN; eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronald Wayne Reynolds, one grandson, Dearl Reynolds II., and one brother, Carl Reynolds, Jr. He was a farmer, a truck driver for Mitchell Transport, and a bus driver for Tunnelton and Bono Township Schools. He was a charter member of the Talbott Cemetery Association and served on the cemetery board for more than fifty years. He was of the Christian faith. (Gail) Box of Bedford, IN, died Friday, July 21, 2006, at the Hospitality House in Bedford, IN. Born on August 8, 1937, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Bennie and Verlie (Flinn) Box. Surviving are two sons: Richard L. Box and wife, Carolyn, of Bedford, IN, and Kevin L. Box of Owensburg, IN; one daughter, Vicki Vaught of Bedford, IN; two sisters: Dorothy Farris of Bedford, IN, and Mary Jane Hamilton of Tunnelton, IN; one sister-in-law, Jewel Box of Bedford, IN; eight grandchildren, three great-granchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Roland Box and Donald Wayne Box. He was a retired carpenter. Downham – Bruce A. Downham of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the White River Lodge in Bedford, IN. Born on April 22, 1971, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Robert Downham and Diana (Craig) Archer. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Kenneth Archer, of Bedford, IN; his father and step-mother, Kim, of Bedford, IN; two brothers: Robbie Downham and wife, Tami, and Bradley Downham, all of Bedford, IN; two step-brothers: Bob Archer of Indianapolis, IN, and Ryan Archer of Hope, IN; maternal grandfather, Lowell Craig of Bedford, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Craig, an paternal grandparents, Brian and Vera Downham. He was a construction laborer. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Bedford, IN, and attended the Free Methodist Church. Hale – Otho Thomas "Bud" Hale of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, IN. Born on March 17, 1918, in Needmore, IN, he was the son of Bige and Shirley (Bennett) Hale. He married Della Mae Myers on November 30, 1938, and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2006. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II. He was a self-employed carpenter, part owner of Hale Stone Company and had also worked at Carriage House Furniture, retiring in 1990. He was a graduate of Mitchell High School. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bedford since 1959 and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Free Methodist Church in Bedford, IN. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens in Bedford, IN. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33 of Bedford. Ingle – Ruth Leone (Sheeks) Ingle of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Westview Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born on October 2, 1913, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of D.L. and Opal (Simpson) Sheeks. She married Louis Crawford Ingle on August 12, 1933, and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1999. Surviving are two daughters: Phyllis Howell and husband, Ed, of Ellettsville, IN, and Donna Bartlett and husband, David, of Bedford, IN; one son-in-law, Fred Dunn of Paoli, IN; one sister, Mary (Sheeks) Wood and husband, Oren, of Bedford, IN; six grandchildren: Vicki Gerkin, Mike Dunn, Mark Dunn, Jerri Todd, Jessica Allen and Najget Kern; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Roy Sheeks; one daughter, Mary Ruth Dunn; one grandson, Gregg Bennett; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Blackburn. She graduated from Tunnelton High School and was a homemaker. She was a fifty-year member of the Leesville Eastern Star. She was a member of the Tunnelton Methodist Church for sixty years. Wilson of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at her residence. Born on September 6, 1935, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Charlie and Clara F. (Hunter) Ramsey. She married Carl Wilson and he preceded her in death in 1982. Surviving are two sons: Carl M. Wilson of Bedford, IN, and Shawn Wilson and wife, Melissa, of Bedford, IN; two daughters: Melinda Owens and Melissa M. Wilson, both of Bedford, IN; three brothers: Harold, Gerald and John Ramsey; one sister, Melody Prudent, eleven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Leroy, Charles E. and Leathel Ramsey; one sister, Juanitta Stinson, and one grandson, Shawn Wilson, Jr. She had been employed by M. Lewis – Evelyn Lucille Lewis of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at the Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, IN. Born on July 2, 1920, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of William Bullitt and Josie (Blevins) Jolley. She married Lowell Lewis on February 18, 1956, and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1991. Surviving are one step-son, Dr. Robert E. Lewis of Athens, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Christine and Dorothy Jane Jolley; three brothers: Wayne, Clyde and Hollace Jolley; and three half-brothers: Leo, Justin and Cleatus Jolley. She was formerly employed at Reliance Manufacturing Company and GM Powertrain. She was a member of the Class of 1940 of Mitchell High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Modern Homemakers Home Ec. Club. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Josh Brumfield officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. She married Ken Hodges on September 9, 2000, and he survives. Born on April 16, 1923, in Shoals, IN, he was the son of Jesse and Rosa (Brown) Gammon, Sr. He married Martha Ann McGinnis in 1958, and she preceded him in death on December 12, 1990. She served on the state constitution committee of Tri-Kappa and was a United Way chairperson. She was president of the North Lawrence Scholarship Foundation for three years and served on the North Lawrence Scholarship Committee. She was president of Pink Ladies of Dunn Memorial Hospital in 1971 and from 1983 to 1985. She received the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in 1984 and the Daughters of Lawrence County Walk With Excellence Award in March, 2006. From 1983 until 1986, she was an advisory board member of the Bedford College Center Oakland City University. She was also a member of the Welcome Wagon for many years. (Fiddler) Klumpp. He married Rheadawn Browning on August 21, 1952, and she preceded him in death on July 3, 1976. Surviving are two sons: Steve Klumpp of Mitchell, IN, and Bradley Klumpp of Bedford, IN; and one granddaughter, Diane Michelle Luttrell of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Gus Klumpp, and his companion, Wilma Byers. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was retired from General Motors as a shipping supervisor. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33, 40&8, the VFW Post 1686, and the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club. Born on December 1, 1928, in Terre Haute, IN, she was the daughter of Carl A. and Mildred (Edwards) Valentine. She married William Riley McKeen on March 12, 1955, and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Candice McKing of North Vernon, IN, and Frederika Shwago of Ft. Wayne, IN; one son, William Riley McKeen of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Bill Valentine of Terre Haute, IN; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Callahan Hughes Funeral Home in Terre Haute, IN. Entombment will follow at the Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN. Christmas – Dorothy J. Christmas of Sellersburg, IN, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at the Sellersburg Health and Rehab Center. Born in Petersburg, IN, she was the daughter of Don Cecil and Jessia Pearl (Richardson) Hughes. She married John Phillips, and he preceded her in death. She later married Ivan Christmas. Surviving are one son, John William Phillips of Tunnelton, IN; three daughters: Mima Lou Meyer of Sellersburg, IN, Phyllis Colleen Smith of Pennsylvania, and Rose Mary Stone of Belleville, IL; one sister, Joyce Drew of Oakland City, IN; and eleven grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a domestic worker. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford, IN. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Phillips – Lucille "Tee" Phillips of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at the Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center in Mitchell, IN. Born on November, 2, 1923, she was the daughter of William Otto and Angie May (Miller) Stewart. She married William F. Phillips on December 7, 1946, and he survives. Also surviving are one son, Timothy Frank Phillips and wife, Louise Newburgh; three daughters: Kimberly Ann Todd and husband, Brent, and Anita Louise Stephens and husband, Mike, and Angie Kay Mercer and husband, David, all of Indianapolis, IN; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Louise Baugh. She retired from the Mitchell High School cafeteria and was a member of the Class of 1943 of Mitchell High School. She was a fifty year member of the First Baptist Church. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel of the Chastain Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Bex – Robert (Bob) Bex of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Bloomington Select Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born on August 6, 1925, in Williams, IN, he was the son of John Logan and Manie (Terrell) Bex. He married Doris L. Maick on February 5, 1944, and she survives.


Also surviving are one daughter, Sonya Riddle and husband, Kyle W., Jr., of Orlando, FL; one son, Robert Bex, II and wife, Patty, of Bedford, IN; three sisters: Ruth Hutsell of Indianapolis, IN; Lucile Williams of Bloomfield, IN; and Sarah Francis Bright of Anderson, IN; one brother, Russell Bex of Columbus, IN; five grandchildren: Soni McCarty and husband, Art, of Sanford, FL; Regiena Maxwell and husband, Carlos, of St. Cloud, FL; Kyle W. Riddle, III of Seattle, WA; Robin Bex of Bloomington, IN; and Jennifer Bex of Indianapolis, IN; two step-grandchildren: Matthew Turner and wife, Dianna, of Bedford, IN; Angela Chase and husband, Joe, of Springville, IN; five great-grandchildren: Gia, Mari and Carlos Maxwell II, Allie and Kenzie McCarty; four step-great-grandchildren: Lauren and Garrett Turner, and Taylor and Ashely Chase; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Grace Doane and Ida Trublood; four brothers: Dennis, Logan, Glen and Raymond Bex; and a daughter-in-law, Claudia Helton Bex.

He was a veteran serving with the United States Army during World War II at Hickam Air Field in Hawaii. He retired from Central Foundry Division of General Motors in 1983 after thirty-two years of service. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and U.A.W. Local #440. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years hunting in the hills of Indiana with friends and family members. He played with the Bedford AC's baseball team and played both fast and slow pitch softball with several teams.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Reverend John Dodd and Reverend Glenn Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be considered to The Robert Bex Baseball Scholarship Fund.

McIntire – Joseph Patrick "Pat" McIntire of Tunnelton, IN, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at his residence. Born on January 20, 1939, in Jennings County, IN, he was the son of Emerson and Mary M. (Arbuckle) McIntire.

Surviving are two daughters: Mary M. Coolbaugh and husband, Jess, and Tina M. Shields and husband, Scott, all of Virginia; one son, Joseph P. McIntire, Jr. of Virginia; one brother, Johnny Ray Miller; his former wife, Audrey Fisher McIntire of Virginia; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, George Miller, one sister, Carrie Mae McIntire, and one brother, William McIntire.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Seymour Tubing.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in North Carolina. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Patton – Anna Patton of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at the Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born on December 21, 1922, in Berlin, PA, she was the daughter of Michael and Florence Farina Mollica. She married Calvin Patton on October 27, 1944, in Maryland, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons: Tim Patton and wife, Sheena, and Scott Patton and wife, Debbie, all of Bedford, IN; four daughters: Peggy Elmore and husband, Roy, of Montana; Marilyn Elmore and husband, John, of Sellersburg, IN; Linda Harrell of Lafayette, IN; and Pam Walden and husband, Matt, of Bedford, IN; two sisters, one brother, sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sharon Rogers in 1987, one grandson, and nine brothers and sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford, IN. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Cresthaven Funeral Home.

Thomas – Treva J. Thomas of Owensburg, IN, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at her residence. Born on December 31, 1923, in Owensburg, IN, she was the daughter of Ray and Juanita (Smith) Cobb. She married W. L. (Tuffy) Thomas on Movember 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2001.

Surviving are one daughter, Derenda Thomas Todd of Bedford, IN; one son, Myron L. Thomas and wife, Faye, of Owensburg, IN; five grandchildren: Gregg Todd and wife, Pamela; Mike Todd; Deann Todd Perry, Steven L. Thomas and wife, Allison; and Lora Thomas; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was the owner of W. L. Thomas, Inc. of Owensburg, IN, which was founded with her husband in 1960. She was a member of the Owensburg Church of Christ.

Graveside services for family and friends will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the Owensburg Cemetery in Owensburg, IN. There will be no visitation as the family will gather for private time at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
