Fiddler – Dorothy Mae Fiddler of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Mitchell Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 27, 1917, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of George W. and Mary Annie (Miller) Jenkins. She fir married Thomas Fiddler on May 21, 1938, and he died on December 18, 1983. She married Guy Stocks on November 8, 1985, and he died in May, 2000.
Surviving are one daughter, Twanette Seidle and her husband, Jerry, of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren: Brian Seidle and his wife, Vickie, of Pinckney, MI, Brett Seidle and his wife, Claudia, of Bedford, IN, and Brad Seidle of Bedford, IN; five great-grandchildren: Alec, Alaina, and Aaron Seidle of Pinckney, MI, and Christian and Alexis Seidle of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Judy Scholbert and her husband, Ray; two step-sons, Terry Stocks and his wife, Janet, and Jay Stocks and his wife, Margie. She was preceded in death by both husbands, three brothers, and one sister.
She was a secretary at Smith Trucking in Bedford for twenty-five years and was a 1936 graduate of Shawswick High School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Miller – Irma Evelyn Miller of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Westview Manor. Born on May 27, 1911, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Hugh E. and Sarah Isabelle (Berryman) Miller.
Surviving are one nephew, Bud Arnold and his wife, Alice, of Bedford, IN; great nephews: Michael Lee Arnold of Oolitic, IN, Larry Dean Arnold of Bedford, IN, and Tom Haskett of New Castle, IN; one great niece, Barbara Maplethorp and her husband, Bill, of Oregon; and several cousins of Mitchell, IN; She was preceded in death by four sisters: Bernice Arnold, Gertrude Sheeks, Jenne Box, and Iva Box; three brothers: Milton, Howard, and Allen Miller.
She was a domestic worker for Joe and Johanna Elliott and Jay and Betty Lou Hale. She was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple.
There will be graveside services for Irma Miller at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30th, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor Dave Colgan officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Prall – Nelson L. Prall of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born on July 9, 1906, in Henryville, IN, he was the son of Clarence and Amelia (Sohn) Prall. He married Bertha Mahan on February 3, 1933, and she died July 1, 1984.
Surviving are two sons, Eric L. Prall of Harker Heights, TX, and Daniel N. Prall of Newark, DE; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, and two brothers, George Albert and Chester Prall.
He was a land surveyer, retiring in 1990, and held degrees in both civil engineering and law. He did land surveying from 1950-1990 and served as Lawrence County Surveyor for many years. He became an attorney in 1959 in order to better argue his position on land surveys. He was a member of the Henryville Masonic Lodge, Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers. He served as Chairman of the Indiana Professional Land Surveyors Legislative Committee and wrote several bills defining the duties of land surveyors, and they are still on the books today.
Services for Nelson Prall will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, IN. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ritchison – Ralph C. Ritchison of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at his residence. Born on July 14, 1943, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Edward and Eva (Walters) Ritchison. He first married Sonja Frizzel in 1961. Later he married Norma Davis on August 8, 1975, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are seven children: Kimberly Sayre of California, Lisa French of Bedford, IN, Christopher Taylor and his wife, Sally Ann, of Rayetteville, IN, Tommy Hughes and his wife, Laura, of Needmore, IN, Robin DeRosier and her husband, Mike, of California, Ellen Ritchison of Bedford, IN, Eddie Ritchison and his wife, Melissa, of Bedford, IN; one brother, Vanie Ritchison and his wife, Bonnie, of Florida; thirteen grandchildren: Jonathon Horton, Bridgette French, Meryl French, Christine Taylor, Jayme Sayre, Haley Butler, Charlie Hughes, Shayna Sayre, Amanda DeRosier, Sammy Ritchison, Andrew DeRosier, Reese Ritchison, and Zachary Hughes; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, one aunt, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, and numerous cousins.
He was an explosives technician for the Austin Powder Co., in Columbus, IN, a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman's Club, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Atchison – Norma Jane Atchison of Norman, IN, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on March 21, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of John W. and Florence Mae (Eason) Curren. She married George R. Atchison on June 21, 1950, and he died on January 14, 1998.
Surviving are two son, Mike Atchison and his wife, Karen, of Bedford, IN, and Donald D. Atchison and his wife, Darlene, of Norman, IN; two brothers, Robert Curren of Cape Coral, FL, and John S. Curren of Bedford, IN; three sisters: Maxine Scherschel of Mitchell, IN, Colleen Smith and Frances Wilson, both of Bedford, IN; and four grandchildren: Chris, Cory, and Carrie Atchison and Carmen Davis and her husband, Joshua, all of Lawrence County, IN. She was preceded in death by two brother, Everett and Thomas Curren.
She retired from G.E. in Bloomington and was a member of the Mundell Christian Church.

Hayes – Tommy D. Hayes of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on March 2, 1932, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Tom and Myrtle (Robinson) Hayes. He married Norma Thomas on February 6, 1953, in Bedford, IN, and she died on July 12, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter, Debara Henderson and her husband, Larry, of Bedford, IN; two brothers, Jerry Frank Hayes of Bedford, IN, and Donald Hayes of Mitchell, IN; one sister, Phyliss Clawson of Delphi, IN; and two grandchildren, Shannon and Landon Henderson, both of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife; three sisters, Rose Lee, Gerry Fines, and Kate Judah; and three brothers: Billy, Sam, and Richard Hayes.

Mosier – Rachel Rosetta Mosier, of Eureka, IN, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on August 18, 1922, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Elza and Julia Delphina Lewis. She married James Edwin Mosier, Sr. on November 1, 1947, and he survives.
Surviving with his wife are three sons: Eddie L. Payton and his wife, Linda, of Shoals, IN, James E. Mosier Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Eureka, IN, and Richard L. Mosier and his wife, Melinda, of Mitchell, IN; two daughters, Juanita K. Mosier of Mitchell, IN, and Miranda J. Sallee and her husband, Steve, of Orleans, IN; two sisters, Barbara Seabold and Bonnie Gabbard; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She wa preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Elizabeth Milligan and Doris Goldia Florence Taylor; two brothers, FreedieClampitt and Paul Lewis; one granddaughter, Sheila Mosier; and one great-grandson, Joshua Johnson.
She was a 1940 graduate of Heltonville High School and a graduate of the House of James Beauty College of Indianapolis. She had worked at Burns City during WW II and also at the Blue Bird Cafe, RCA, Essex, Older Americans in Orleans, and at the Mitchell Tribune. She and her husband owned and operated Southern Indiana Damage Appraisal, Southern Indiana Salvage Services, Mosier Trucking and Mosier Wrecker Service, all in Eureka. Services for Rachel Mosier will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29th, at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville with Brother Wimpy O'Steen officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pugh – Luella P. Pugh of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born on September 29, 1913, in Bloomington, IN, she was the daughter of Vernie and Jennie (Fordyce) Miller. She married Harold J. Pugh on July 25, 1931, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Nancy Pugh Brock of Bedford, IN; one sister, Mary Ziegler of Bedford, IN; four grandchildren: Brian Pugh and his wife, Deb, of Mitchell, IN, Lisa Pugh and Beryl Horrall, Susan McGregor and her husband, Schel, and Kim (Pugh) Bridges, all of Bedford, IN; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Harold Pugh Jr., in infancy, and Larry Pugh; three brothers: Aubra Miller, Herbert Miller, and Warren Miller; and one grandson, Steve Pugh.
She was still actively working at the U.S. Forestry Service in Bedford and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Marsh – Robert Lee Marsh of Bedford, IN, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at the Bloomington Hospital. Born on July 11, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Loren and Ruth (Reynolds) Marsh. He married Priscilla Barlow on June 24, 1989, in Bedford, IN, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Terry Marsh and his wife, Debbie, of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Judi Swartz and her husband, Randy, of Bedford, IN; one sister, Connie Jenkins of Bloomington; one sister; two grandsons, Jeremy and Curtis Marsh; two great-grandson: Kaden and Gaven Marsh; three nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry, and two granddaughters.
He was a retired vending route man for the Kaylor Candy Co, which later became the Hamilton-Harrison Co. of Bedford and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in Korea and Japan. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W., both of Shoals, and the Moose Lodge of Bedford.

Miller – JoAnn Harrison Miller of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on May 23, 1929, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of James Albert and Roberta Ione (Foster) Harrison. She married John L. Miller on June 26, 1959, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters: Susan Elaine Stefaniak and her husband, Gary J., of Houston, TX, and Karen Ann Lee and her husband, Tim H., of Plainview, TX; two sons, Steven L. Miller and David Morgan Miller, both of Indianapolis; two sister, Mary Ellen Johnson of Oolitic, IN, and Brenda Kay Stierwalt of Peoria, AZ; one brother, David Daniel Harrison of Bedford, IN; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a homemaker, a 1947 graduate of Oolitic High School, and a member of the First Church of God.

Mitchell – Louis A. Mitchell of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at his residence. Born on December 3, 1932, in Arkansas, he was the son of Denny and Ethel (Clark) Mitchell. He married Martha Rogers on March 5, 1965, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife of three sons: Brian Mitchell of Fayetteville, IN, Lewis Wayne Mitchell of Bedford, IN, and David Mitchell of North Carolina; one step-son, Jerry Wayne Watts of Mitchell, IN; two step-daughters, Lillian Lesley and Rebecca Russell, both of Mitchell, IN; one brother, William D. Mitchell, of Arkansas; four sisters: Liz Elridge of Indianapolis, Martha Stotts of Williams, IN, Phyllis Vantuyle of Bedford, IN, and Marie Connors of Florida; fifteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Mitchell; one sister, Geraldine Wade; and one granddaughter.
He was a a self-employed stone mason and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church, Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post #250, and Marvin R. Davis V.F.W. Post 9107.
Services for Louis Mitchell will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2003, at Haverly Mortuary with Pastor Glen Hamer officiating. Magni – Peter L. Magni of Bloomfield, IN, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at his residence. Born on May 26, 1944, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Rodney and Morjorie (Owens) Gardner. He married Charlene Calinger on October 1994, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are are two daughters, Nanette Cunningham and her husband, Greg, of Linton, IN, and April Landis and her husband, Todd, of Linton, IN; one step-son, Donald Johnson, serving in the U.S. Navy in Washington state; one step-daughter, Chastity Puils of Bloomfield, IN; six grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Crane in 1994, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam War. He served as an umpire for the Indiana High School Athletic Association and the American Softball Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post #196 and the V.F.W. Post, both of Bloomfield.
Services for Peter Magni will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Haverly Mortuary, with the last military rites being conducted by American Legion Post #196 at 6 p.m. that evening. The body will be cremated.
Roshon – Jacqueline C. Roshon of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on November 3, 1930, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Garrison and Elizabeth (Grimes) Robinson. She married Lowell H. Roshon on June 12, 1948, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Judy Moore and husband, Dwight, and Lorena Roshon, all of Mitchell, IN; two granddaughters, Tina Case and Stcey Mann and her husband, Bryce; two step-grandchildren, Dustin Moore and Darci Medlock and husband, Michael; two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Ann Roshon, and one brother, Garrison Lee Robinson II.
She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Owens-Corning Glass while living in Lancaster, OH. In 1965, the family moved to Mitchell and established the Bow Kay Flower Shop, which she owned and operated with her husband and daughters for 27 years.

Bex – Ida Annice Bex of Bedford, IN, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at her residence. Born on September 7, 1918, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Earl and Dora (Chapman) Dumond. She married Archie Bex on April 22, 1939, and he died on May 12, 1983.
Surviving are two sons, Dale Bex and Robert E. Bex, both of Mitchell, IN; three daughters: Susie Meek, Madonna Meadows, and Linda Bex Cart, all of Bedford, IN; two sister, Mary Alice Carter and Laura Ellen Boone, both of Bedford, IN; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, James Bex; one daughter, Eva Mae Bex; one brother, Franklin Dumond; one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Midtown Church of Christ.

Koetter – Mildred Virginia Koetter of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the residence of her daughter. Born on December 8, 1917, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Ziba and Mamie (Nelson) Hill. She married John Potter on December 26, 1936, and he died on December 27, 1958. She then married Irving Koetter in June, 1978, and he died in January, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Gay Turner and her husband, Greg, of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Jean McKenzie of Tucson, AZ; one daughter-in-law, Ruthie Potter of Bedford, IN; five grandchildren: Mohn Potter, Mike Potter, Kyle Foddrill, Kara Graves, and Kory Foddrill; four great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands; one son, Dennis Potter; one step-son, James Koetter; two sisters, Betty Sons and Carol Keithley.
She retired as an office worker at the Edgewood Clinic and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Hall – Glenn E. Hall of Bedford, IN, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Westview Manor. Born on May 26, 1928, in Silverville, IN, he was the son of Claude and Arless (Fisher) Hall. He married Violet M. Reynolds on March 31, 1943, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Darrell Hall of Chandler, AZ, and Dwight Hall of Indianapolis; one brother, Leonard Hall of Guthrie, IN; one sister, Katherine Russell of Terre Haute, IN. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
He retired from Central Foundry and was a veteran of WW II. He was a member of the First Christian Church, F.O.P., AARP, UAW Local 440, Farm Bureau, Bedford York Rite Bodies, Cedar Lodge F&AM of Leesville, American Legion Gillen Post #33, and past member of the Lawrence County Fair Board.
Services for Glenn Hall will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Dailey officiating. Perkins – Ronda L. Perkins of Bedford, IN, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Hospitality House. Born on August 29, 1958, in Huntington, IN, she was the daughter of Lester and Marjorie Crull. She married Mark Perkins on June 22, 1984, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Maggie Perkins, at home; her parents of Bedford, IN; and one sister, Martha Ann Crull of Atlanta, GA.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Vineyard Community Church in Bloomington.

Tincher – Iva M. Tincher of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on September 28, 1909, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Lee M. and Lusettia (Etichison) Chapman. She married Curtis Tincher on February 14, 1931, and he died on November 18, 1997.
Surviving are four sons: Roy Tincher, Daniel Tincher, Phillip Tincher, and Gerry Tincher, all of Mitchell, IN; two daughters, Doris Sheeks and Mae Lou Howard, both of Mitchell, IN; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, and two sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bryantsville Church of Christ.

Anderson – Raymond W. Anderson of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on October 6, 1914, in Lucas, IA, he was the son of John Irwing and Pearl (Spencer) Anderson. He first married Georgetta Allen on December 18, 1937, and she died on October 8, 1980. He then married Jewell Binter on November 5, 1983, and she died on May 26, 2000. He married Geraldine Miller on January 16, 2003, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Timothy J. Anderson of Indianapolis; one daughter, Barbara R. Duncan and her husband, Larry, of Bedford, IN; one step-daughter, Connie Allen of Milltown, IN; one brother, Donald Carter and his wife, Clara, of Des Moines, IA; one sister, Cherie Hermann of Burlington, IA; three grandchildren: Jamie Milton of Indianapolis, Jason Anderson of New York, and Matthew Duncan of Bedford, IN; three great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Max Anderson, and one sister, Marquitta Pearson.
He retired after thirty-two years with the U.S. Forestry Service. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Air Force in India as a weatherman.

Surviving with her parents are one brother, Less Paul Couch, at home; her paternal grandparents, Rita McGinness and John and Debbie Goen, all of Bedford, IN; her maternal grandparents, Tabby Brewer and Steve Owens of Bedford, IN; great-grandparents, Bill Kirkman, Gordon and Ann Brewer and Bernon Owens, all of Bedford, IN; one aunt, Deanna Riggle and her husband, Reece, of Williams, IN; two uncles, Bryan and Bradley Owens.

Hall – Anna Lee Hall of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on January 10, 1930, in Decatur County, IN, she was the daughter of George and Ida Mae (Flint) Chadwell. She married Lester Hall on September 1, 1973, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Deborah (Nikirk) Underwoon of Bedford, IN; two sons, Gregory Nikirk of Bedford, IN, and Terry Nikirk of Baytown, TX; one step-daughter, Ruth Ann Tolliver of Bedford, IN; two brothers, James Leroy Chadwell of Tennessee and George Chadwell of Greensburg, IN; two sisters, Lucille Donica of Shelbyville, IN, and Norma Burner of Greensburg, IN; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a former husband, Walter Nikirk, and one great-granddaughter, Susanna Day Nikirk.
She was a cook, a kindergarten teacher's aid for North Lawrence Schools, and was a teacher for Pal Nursery School. She was a member of the Dive Christian Church.

Kelley – Camilla Jean Kelley of Lake Brownwood, TX, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, in Austin, TX. Born on February 18, 1938, in Stephens County, OK, she was the daughter of Riley and Odessa Huddleston. She married Ray Nelson Kelley on March 17, 1973, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons: Calvin V. Oates and his wife, Nancy, of Lake Brownwood, TX; Stephen E. Oates and his wife, Joanne, of Joplin, MO; and Bradley W. Oates and his wife, Linda, of Goldthwaite, TX; one daughter, Aquilla Ann "Susie" Kern and husband, Ray, of Bedford, IN; one brother, Verdell Veal of Sherman, TX; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.
She was a homemaker and a retired apartment manager.

Phillips – David Eugene Phillips of Springville, IN, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at his residence. Born on July 1, 1930, in Wayne County, KY, he was the son of Ben and Roxie (Bell) Phillips. He married Janna Cobb on July 10, 1954, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are four sons: David Phillips and his wife, Trish, of English, IN, Ricky Phillips and his wife, Donna, of Springville, IN, Mark Phillips and his wife, Sharon, of Springville, IN, Tracy Phillips and his wife, Pam, of Bedford, IN; two daughters, Beth Feldman and her husband, Dr. Mark Feldman, of Bedford, IN, and Terri Speer and her husband, Marty, of Oolitic, IN; his mother-in-law, Nancy Stout; one brother, Howard Phillips of Springville, IN; three sisters: Aline Nelson of Houston, TX, Charlene Banks, and Alma Jones, both of Springville, IN; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Herbert, Stanley, R.C., Glen, Luther, and Joe Ray; and two sisters, Carrie Gregory and Opal Chattman.
He retired as a welder for the Monon-CSX railroad in Bloomington and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Springville, a member of the Big Red One and the railroad union.

Stevens – Josephine Ruth Stevens, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at The Waters Nursing Home in Dillsboro, IN. Born on February 14, 1919, in Neoga (Cumberland County), IL, she was the daughter of Harmon and Sarah (Andrews) Compton. She married Walter (Woody) Stevens on May 13, 1939, in Salem, IN, and he died on June 23, 1995.
Surviving are three sons: Jerry R. Steen of Mitchell, IN, James W. and Ronald C. Stevens, both of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Mrs. James (Debra) George of Aurora, IN; one sister, Pauline Hall of Paoli, IN; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
She was a homemaker and a member of 1st Wesleyan Church of Bedford.

Henderson – Elmer "Buster" Henderson, Jr., of Bedford, IN, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on January 19, 1930, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Elmer and Goldie (Goodman) Henderson. He married Anna Mae Daugherty on January 21, 1949, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Larry Henderson and is wife, Debbie, of Bedford, IN, and Gregory Henderson and his wife, Pamela, of Williams, IN; two daughters, Lisa Millinax and her husband, Lee, of Bedford, IN, and Theresa Grimitt and her husband, Dale, of Indianapolis; two sisters, Janet Adams of Bedford, IN, and Myrtle Jacobs of Ellettsville, IN; two brothers, Jack Henderson of San Pablo, CA, and Edwin Henderson of Scottsdale, AZ; and five grandchildren: Tyson Hillenburg, Shannon Henderson, Landon Henderson, Katelyn Henderson, and Paige Mullinax, all of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Henderson; two sisters, Aldena Koons and Joanne Henderson; one daughter, Karen Henderson; and one grandson, Jeremy Henderson.
He was employed at NWSC Crane for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1975. He had also owned and operated Henderson TV from 1962-1987 and had served in the US Merchant Marines and later the US Army, Korean Conflict, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1166 (3rd Deg) and #1921 (4th Deg.), American Legion Gillen Post #33, and American Federation of Govt. Employees.
Services for Elmer Henderson will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17th, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Bernie Cox officiating. Graham – Jullisa Fern Turner Graham of Bedford, IN, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on Sugust 26, 1907, she was the daughter of Jackson Clark and Mary (Sipes) Fleetwood. She married Thomas Turner on December 22, 1923, and he died in August 1944. She married Hershel Graham and he died July 3, 1962.
Surviving are two daughters, Violet Harrell of Heltonville, IN, and June Goodwin of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Christie Spires and Donna Evans, both of Heltonville, IN; three grandsons: Thoma Harrell of Lexington, KY, Gary Goodwin and Clark Goodwin, both of Indianapolis; three great-granddaughters, and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by both husbands.
She was a homemaker and a member of Heltonville Christian Church.

Groomer – Norris Eugene Groomer of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Mitchell Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on November 8, 1917, in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Frederick D. and Mabel S. (Kimmell) Groomer. He married Alma LaVera Daily in 1934 in Olney, IL, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Frederick L. Groomer of North Judson, IN; three daughters: Carolyn S. Lowe of Orleans, IN, Peggy A. Jarosak of Portage, IN, and Patty M. Linkenhocket of Bedford, IN; one brother, Ted L. Groomer of Georgia; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Gene Groomer; and one sister, Peggy Kunkle.
He was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

Blake – Lucy Della (Neely) Blake of Oolitic, IN, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Westview Manor. Born on October 15, 1915, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Soloman and Minnie (Burton) Greer. She married Walter Neely and he died in 1968. She then married Ray Blake in 1979, and he died in 1992.
Surviving are three sons: Roger Neely of Oolitic, IN, Robert Neely of Mitchell, IN, and Charles Neely of Ellettsville, IN; three daughters: Joan Graves of Henderson, KY, Norma Phillips of Bedford, IN, and Paulette Gilbert of Springville, IN; one sister, Rosella Fleetwood of Bedford, IN; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.

Henderson – Jeremy S. Henderson of Williams, IN, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at his grandparents' home in Bedford, IN. Born on June 8, 1982, in New Jersey, he was the son of Gregory M. and Pamela (Chenault) Henderson.
Surviving are his parents of Bedford, IN; maternal grandparents, Jennie Edwards and husband, Art, of Bedford, IN; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Anna Mae Henderson of Bedford, IN; one maternal aunt, Beverly Chenault of Bedford, IN; one paternal uncle, Larry Henderson of Bedford, IN; two paternal aunts, Lisa Mullinax of Bedford, IN, and Theresa Grimitt of Indianapolis. He was was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Felix Chenault.
He was a laborer. He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Iron Workers of America.

White – Anna C. (Collins) White of Bedford, IN, died Monday at Core Nursing Home. Born on June 3, 1924, she was the daughter of Edward and Eva Collins. She married Harold Dean White, and they were divorced.
Surviving are one son, Edward White and his wife, Shay, of Bedford, IN; one sister, Betty Kirkman and her husband, George, of Springville, IN; one brother, Harrison Collins and his wife, Pam; four grandchildren: Aaron, Tyler, Kelsey, and Kyra White: two nieces, two nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
She was a homemaker and attended the Spice alley Methodist Church.

Cooper – Jackie Lee Cooper of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on July 13, 1935, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Ollie and Stella (Dowling) Cooper. He married Sandra Book on August 5, 1972, in Illinois, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Cindy Miley of Evansville, IN, and Honey Stuart of Oolitic, IN; seven sons: Jack E. Cooper, Steve Cooper, Jeffery Cooper, and Rod Farber, all of Evansville, IN, David Cooper of Carlisle, IN, Michael Farber of Groton, CT, and Tim Farber of Indianapolis; four sisters: Fran Hash of Oolitic, IN, Jean Mitchell of Bedford, IN, Mildred Henley of Arizona, and Sue Lewis of Muncie, IN; one brother, Dale Cooper of Mt. Vernon, IN; eighteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters: and two sons, Larry and James Farber.
He was a retired laborer with Laborer's Local 561 in Evansville, IN, after 50 years employment.

Sowders – Helen Sowders of Grapevine, TX, formerly of the Guthrie Community in Lawrence County, IN, died on Friday, July 4, 2003, at the Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine. Born on June 7, 1925, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Raymond and Leatha (Quillen) Hawkins. She married Harold Wayne Sowders on May 8, 1946, and he he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Wilson and her husband, Steve, of Grapevine, TX, and Becky Hargis and her husband, Ed, of Heltonville, IN; one brother, Charles Ansel Hawkins of Bedford, IN; one sister, Elsie Clampitt of Indianapolis; six grandchildren: Cindy Hart, Christy Bowman, Chad Wilson, Christina Harden, David Hargis, and Daniel Hargis; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers: James Loyd, Joseph Kelsey, William Richard, and Morris Eugene Hawkins.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Avoca. She attended the Colleyville First Assembly of God in Colleyville, TX.

Keithley – Margaret Jean Keithley of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on August 4, 1929, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Ollie and Dora (Clifford) Beasley. She married James Robert Keithley on August 23, 1952, and he died on April 23, 1983.
Surviving are two sons: Robert Kent Keithley and his wife, Cindy, of Mitchell, IN, and Brian Scott Keithley of Bloomington, IN; one daughter, Ruthellen Elaine Lane and her husband, Darrin, of Mitchell, IN; one step-son, James Keithley and his wife, Pat, of Shelbyville, IN; one step-daughter, Diane Broy of Jeffersonville, IN; one sister, Ruth Johnson of Bedford, IN; three grandchildren: Blake Keithley, Evan Keithley, and Marisa Lane; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one step-son, Dennis Keithley; two sisters, Lora Cooper and Clara Ethel Beasley; and five brothers: Morrell, Ted, Lewis, Gus, and Glenn Beasley.
She had been employed as a bookkeeper at S.S. Kresge Company and K-Mart. She was a 1947 graduate of Mitchell High School. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Gillen Post #33 American Legion Auxiliary.

Sanders – Clorine "Dutch" Sanders of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford. Born on September 1, 1911, in Bonnieville, KY, she was the daughter pf Andrew and Ruby Frances (Roof) Houchin. She married Lloyd Sanders and he died on September 27, 1970.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary L. Crozier of Bloomington, IN; one son, Larry Sanders of Mitchell, IN; one sister, Wanda Stigall of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Earl Houchin of McCordsville, IN; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Sanders; three sisters: Pearl Grissom, Lula Grogan, and Maxine Taflinger; and five brothers: Charles, Clyde, Eugene, Max and Paul Houchin.
She retired from Roberts Brass Manufacturing.

Mitchell – Ervin R. Mitchell, of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on September 29, 1923, in Greene County, IN, he was the son of Bert and Mary (Hamilton) Mitchell. He married Delores Jane Baker on April 10, 1954, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Marsha Holmquist of Bedford, IN, and Melissa Brewer of Bloomington, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers: Carl, Romia, Leo, Merle, Charles, and Oral Mitchell; and three sisters: Dorothia Hardgrove, Zora Lackey, and Myrtle Mitchell.
He was a retired grinder at W.F. Myers in Bedford, where he was a member of the union local 1123, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Fayetteville Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving is one son, Jack C. Burton and his wife, Tracie, of Mitchell, IN; two daughters, Brenda Denen and her husband, David, of Orleans, IN, and Joann Cooper and her husband, Jack W. of Indianapolis; one sister, Mary Taylor of Mitchell, IN; four grandchildren, and eleven grat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers: Lester, Chester, Bernard, Leonard, and Robert Bowden; and one sister, Helen Bosley.
She was a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Hartman – Cora Etta Hartman of Shelbyville, IN, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Waldron Health Care Center in Waldron. Born on August 6, 1913, in Martin County, IN, she was the daughter of William and Nora (Hovis) Henry. She married Jacob R. Hartman on June 20, 1936, in Bedford, IN, and he died in May 1991.
Surviving are three sons: Charles W. Hartman of Shelbyville, IN, Dr. Claude E. Hartman of Elkhart, IN, and Colin D. Hartman of Reseda, CA; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, and three sisters.
She was a homemaker and a practical nurse, doing private duty nursing until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Bedford Eastern Star, serving as Past Worthy Matron and Secretary and as a state officer, a member of the Bedford Tarum Shrine No. 1, serving as Past Worthy High Priestess, and a member of the Bedford Women's Department Club.

Smith – Charles E. Smith of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on June 15, 1920, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Roy and Esther (Turner) Smith. He married Mary Anderson on May 25, 1941, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Peggy Reuter and her husband, Lyle, of Bedford, IN; one sister, Mary Kimmel of Bedford, IN; one granddaughter, Julie D. Norris and her husband, James, of Bedford, IN; one great-grandson, Kyle Ollis of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, George Lockenour; and one brother, Vance W. Lockenour.
He was retired as vice president in charge of operations for the Admiral Corporation, formerly the Trav-lers Corp. and Hoffman Electronic Corp. in Orleans, IN, Des Plaines, IL, New Albany, IN, Buffalo, NY, Sheffield, AL. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. In 1953-54 he did much of the hands-on building of the church and purchased the communion table, the podium, and the flower stands for the church and put the music in the bell tower. He was a member of the Otis Park Gold Assoc., a former member of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement Program and several local professional organizations.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the Englewood Baptist Church.
