Craig – Nellie C. Craig of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on July 14, 1917, in Perry County, IN, she was the daughter of William and Mary Bird (Blake) Gilliland. She married Cleophus Craig on April 7, 1944, and he died January 19, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Joe McCluskey and James Craig, both of Bedford, IN; two daughters, Nancy Terry and Wilma Donoghue, both of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Anna Feeley of Mattoon, IL, and Dorothy Siegmund of Tolona, IL; one brother, Jesse Gilliland of Bedford, IN; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers, six sisters, and one grandson.
She was a homemaker, a member of First Church of God, and attended Donica Church of God.

Sutherland – Bennie H. Sutherland of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on December 6, 1920, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Benjamin and Mary (Covey) Sutherland. He married June Rose King on April 6, 1970, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are eight children: Joanna Crecelius of Hardinsburg, IN, Jennie Govero of Florida, Herbie Dillon of Texas, Jan Tolbert of Campbellsburg, IN, John Dillon of North Vernon, IN, the Rev. Bennie Sutherland of Ohio, Sandy Sutherland Wycoff of Mitchell, IN, and Dana Sutherland of Pennsylvania; one brother, Frank Sutherland of Apple Valley, CA; twenty grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobbi Jo Sutherland; one brother, Winfred Sutherland; and four sisters: Myrtle Bryant, Estie Waldrop, Lois Jones, and Goldie Evans.
He was retired from Bedford Auto and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge #13 F&AM, American Legion Gillen Post #33, Eagles Lodge, V.F.W., Moose Lodge, and Hilltop Pentecostal Church.

Flinn – Frances M. Flinn of Bedford, IN, died Monday, October 29, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on August 11, 1920, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Tom and Laura E. (Phillips) Roberts. She married Clifford R. Flinn on December 17, 1938, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Judy McCracken of Bedford, IN; one son and his wife, Tom E. and Nancy Flinn of Reynoldsburg, OH; two brothers and their wives, Dean and Pat Roberts and Joe and Patty Roberts, all of Bedford, IN; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by he husband; three brothers, Carl, Harold, and Glen Roberts; one sister, Mary Pipher; and four brother and sisters in infancy.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ.

Mundy – Eva Jane Mundy of Mitchell, IN, died Monday, October 29, 2001, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born on August 7, 1914, in Copeland, AL, she was the daughter of Asa D. and Polly O. (DeWeese) Miller. She married Paul T. Mundy on December 24, 1930, and he died January 1, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte R. White and Janelle Grissom, both of Mitchell, IN; two sons, Knofel V. Mundy of Bedford, IN, and Nelson C. Mundy of Milton, FL; one brother, Alfonzo Miller of Fenwick, MI; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers: Eddie D., Elbert B., Carl W., and James M. Miller; and four sisters: Martha F. Miller, Gypsey M. Rone, Celesta P. Flint, and Sallie A. Neal.
She had been employed at Reliance Manufacturing and retired as head cook at Headstart. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church.

Payne – John A. "Whitey" Payne, Sr. of Bedford, IN, formerly of Edgewood, KY, died Sunday, October 28, 2001, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on July 28, 1914, in Newport, KY, he was the son of Collier and Alice (Rozelle) Payne. He married Ruth E. McCrary on January 14, 1945, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Sandra J. Bell of Mitchell, IN; two sons, John A. Payne, Jr. and Gerald L. Payne, both of Bedford, IN; one sister, Rozella Schadler of Independence, KY; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Collier Payne.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1983 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Hall – Robert T. Hall of Oolitic, IN, died Friday, October 26, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on March 3, 1914, in Jackson County, IN, he was the son of Isaac J. and Aliby C. (Mitchell) Hall. He married Dorothy Godsey on December 17, 1938, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Phyllis Abel and Barbara Abel, both of Bedford, IN; one son, Wayne Hall of Bedford, IN; one sister, Charlotte Houtchings of Mitchell, IN; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley and Clarence Hall; three half-brothers: Lestin Hall, Burnie Hall, and Ted Hicks' two sister, Elloyd Workman and Mary Catherine Hall; and one half-sister, Ola Mitchell.
He retired from Indiana Limestone Company and was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Springville and the Millworkers Union. He was a graduate of Oolitic High school.
Services for Robert Hall will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Grace Baptist Church in Springville with Bros. Roscoe Godsey and Romar Reuter officiating. Burial will follow in Lowder Cemetery. McArtor – Gloria P. McArtor of Springville, IN, died Thursday, October 25, 2001, at her residence. Born on September 29, 1937, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Max and Myrtle (Long) Holmes. She married Paul McArtor on January 29, 1955, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are three sons: David Paul McArtor of Bloomington, IN, Danny McArtor of Bedford, IN, and Bill McArtor of Springville, IN; one daughter, Diane Stidd of Springville, IN; one brother, Keith Holmes of Springville, IN; two sisters, Florence Ashcraft of Bedford, IN, and Marie Shelton of Springville, IN; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Robert Wayne, Donald, and Maxwell Gene Holmes.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Springville Community Church.

Harris – Eleanor Jean Harris of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at her residence. Born on June 10, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Elery and Susie (Riggle) Bough. She married Herman Harris in 1947, and he survives.
Surviving with the husband are three daughters: Connie Harris Barrett of Bedford, IN, Cindy Harris Dowling of Mooresville, IN, and Beth Harris Grissom of Mitchell, IN; one son, Ron Harris of Smithville, IN; one son-in-law, Travis Grissom of Mitchell, IN; two brothers, Ed Johnson and Phillip Johnson, both of Bedford, IN; five grandsons, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Susie and Charlie Johnson, and her father and step-mother, Elery and Florence Bough.
She was retired from Essex Corp. in Orleans and was a homemaker.

Bunch – Alvin G. Bunch of Bedford, IN, died Monday, October 22, 2001, at the Hospitality House. Born on March 25, 1906, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Elza and Sallie (Walters) Bunch. He married Edith G. Taylor in Lawrence County, IN, and she died on October 1, 1971.
Surviving are one son, John L. Bunch of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Mrs. Juanita Mitchell of Speedway, IN; three brothers: Robert D. Bunch and James F. Bunch, both of Bedford, IN, and Charles Bunch of Boaz, AL; one grandson, four granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, and one brother.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Burnette – Essie J. Burnette of Bedford, IN, died Monday, October 22, 2001, at the home of her daughter. Born on February 9, 1915, in Greene County, IN, she was the daughter of Dowden and Cynthia (Stalcup) Jackson. She married Bradley Burnette on February 18, 1932, and he died on May 1, 1958.
Surviving are one daughter and her husband, Mary Rosalie and Jim Cecil; one son and his wife, Billy Dowden and Delores Burnette of Bedford, IN; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Sue Burnette of the Guthrie area and Beulah Burnette of Williams, IN; one brother, Owen Jackson of Bloomfield, IN; seven granddaughters, nine grandsons, forty-four great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Darrell Burnette and the Rev. Jack Burnette; and two sisters, Ruth Voorhies and Ophia Voorhies.
She was retired from RCA in Bloomington and was a member of the New Union Christian Church.

Wallner – Clarence J. Wallner of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at Westview Manor Nursing Home. Born on May 8, 1914, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of George (Kyden) and Margaret (Akers) Wallner. He married Helen Mae Byers on January 16, 1940, and she died August 25, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Boswell and Kathy Maxwell, both of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.
He was a retired assistant postmaster in Bedford, a member of the First Christian Church of Mitchell, a life member of the Bedford Elks Lodge,, where he was a past exalted ruler, past deputy grand exalted ruler of Indiana Elks Assoc., a member of Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM, the Eagles Lodge, and the Postmaster Association.
Services for Clarence Wallner will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. York – Margie L. York of Mitchell, IN, died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at her residence. Born on December 16, 1923, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Oval Murray and Ruby Fern (Smith) Mayden. She married Chase B. York on January 14, 1949, and he died in 1971.
Surviving are one son, Timothy Chase York of Mitchell, IN; one daughter, Sandaleee Jeffries of Mitchell, IN; one sister, Betty Atkinson of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Wayne Mayden of St. Charles, MO; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Malcom Gene York (10/30/80).
She was a retired secretary of Crawford-Morris Lumber Company and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Leonard – Cecile May Leonard, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, October 20, 2001, at Mitchell Manor Nursing Home. Born on September 24, 1901, near French Lick, IN, she was the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Wininger. She married Charles Leonard, and he died in 1967.
Surviving are two daughters, Maxine Vetor and husband Max of Anderson, IN, and Marilyn Jean Pollack of Nederland, TX; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Beverly (Lumpe) Gilmore in 1995; and three brothers: Larry, Eddie, and Henry Wininger.
She was a member of the Bedford Free Methodist Church.

Lyons – John E. Lyons of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, October 20, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on October 23, 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of the Rev. Daniel and Bertha (Lytton) Lyons. He married Jane E. Burkhart on February 16, 1946, at Salem, IN, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son and his wife, Gary L. and Janie Lyons of Springville, IN; two sisters, Mary James of Anderson, IN, and Evangeline Craig of Brazil, IN; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
He worked at Holsum Bakery Co. in Bedford for thirty-six years, retiring in 1977, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was of Protestant faith and a member of Baker's and Confectioner's Union.

Oakley – Jeremy Keith Oakley of Leesville, IN, died Saturday, October 20, 2001. Born on June 4, 1977, he was the son of Kathryn Diane (Eagan) Oakley.
Surviving are his mother, Kathryn Oakley of Bedford, IN; brothers and sisters: Angel Tapia, Sky Pemberton, Christie Leonard, Amy Pentzer, Mike Crews, Dave Easton, Jacob Enochs, Sheila Sparrow, John Mooney, Osy Kirby, Owen Pentzer, Christ Carter, Jon Key, Cory Woodward, Genile Kaho, and Barbara Merriman; maternal grandparents, William and Phyllis Eagan of Bedford, IN; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was a welder and a member of Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America, and the N.R.A.

Fultz – Lorena M. Fultz of Mitchell, IN, formerly of Sullivan, IN, died Thursday, October 18, 2001, at her residence. Born on August 30, 1931, in Sullivan County, IN, she was the daughter of Vorhe V. and Ethel (Frakes) Bragdon.
Surviving are two sons, Randall Merle Morrison and Paul Morrison, both of Lexington, KY; two daughters, Kimberly Briner and Robin Holmes, both of Mitchell, IN; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Donald Morrison.
She was a former supervisor at the LARC Center in Bedford. She was a member of Friends of the Library and attended the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.

Jordan – Christina L. Jordan of Springville, IN, died Thursday, October 18, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born on May 8, 1984, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Dewey W. and Pam (Sipes) Jordan.
Surviving are her parents of Springville, IN; two brothers, Jeff and Matthew Jordan, both of Springville, IN; maternal grandfather, Larry D. Sipes of Cannelton, IN; paternal grandparents, Anthony Jordan and Roxie Bex, both of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joyce Sipes.
She was a junior and Bedford North Lawrence High School and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of God in Bedford.

Stultz – Frank Allen Stultz of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on May 24, 1922, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Charles and Emma (Stipp) Stultz. He married Maxine Miller in early life, and she died in 1988. He married Frances Morrison.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Richard Allen and Ramona Lee Stultz of Bedford, IN; two step-children, Eddie and Susie, both of North Vernon, IN; one brother, Dale Stultz of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Bernice Boofer of Bedford, IN; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one son, Franklin David Stultz, and two brothers, Herschel and Charles Stultz.
He was a retired school bus driver and heavy equipment operator and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Winner – Robin "Derek" Winner of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, October 18, 2001 at Dunn Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born on March 7, 1985, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Jerry W. and Patty (Seidle) Winner.
Surviving are his parents; three brothers, Justin Brown of Mitchell, IN, Jerry Wayne II and Marcus Daniel Winner, both of North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Alpha Bass of North Carolina; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Mina Seidle of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by the paternal grandfather, James Bass.
He was a junior at Bedford North Lawrence High School and attended the Friendly Bible Church in Bedford.

Tolbert – Lou Alma Tolbert of Mitchell, IN, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on January 13, 1925, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Henry and Sophie (Fry) Reynolds. She married Byron Tolbert on June 11, 1947, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are one son, Tom E. Tolbert of Greenwood, IN; two daughters, Linda L. Chapman and Nancy L. Crawford, both of Mitchell, IN; two brothers, Donald Reynolds of Noblesville, IN, and George Reynolds of Trenton, FL; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Tolbert on August 16, 1965; one sister, Nancy Howell; four brothers: Herbert, John, Tom, and Burns Reynolds, and two brothers in infancy.
She was a homemaker and had been employed at M. Fine and Son, Essex, Subway, and McDonalds. She was a member of the Spice Valley Baptist Church.

Jones – Doyle R. Jones of Springville, IN, died Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on May 14, 1937, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Charles C. and Fronia (Colyer) Jones. He married Karen Wisley on June 1, 1963, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Darby C. Jones of Springville, IN, two brothers, Ralph Jones of Tennessee and Charles Jones of California; four sisters: Janet Tyree of Bloomfield, IN, Bonnie Ramsey of Springville, IN, June Chavis of Bedford, IN, and Diane Cooper of Mitchell, IN; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford and Darrell Jones; and one sister, Maxine Jones.
He was a self-employed mechanic.

Stephenson – Faye B. Stephenson of Mitchell, IN, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on September 7, 1916, in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of Frank and Leatha (Williams) Batman. She married Carl Stephenson on April 13, 1939, and he died December 25, 1980.
Surviving are two sons, Max Stephenson and John Stephenson, both of Bedford, IN; two daughter, Sue Hamilton of Salem, IN, and Linda King of Mitchell, IN; nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Dale Ingle; two sisters, Catherine Hamilton and Geneva Jackson; and one brother, Lester Batman.
She was a homemaker and attended Leesville Methodist Church.

Brewer – Katherine Brewer of Bedford, IN, died Monday, October 15, 2001, at her residence. Born on March 28, 1922, in Pawnee, IL, she was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Alvey) Brown. She married William Fiddler on November 22, 1941, and he died in 1972. She married Lee Brewer on December 25, 1976, and he died in 1989.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands: Janet and Merlin Baker of Centreville, MS, Linda and Bill James of Centreville, MS, and Carol and Mike Porter of Springville, IN; three step-daughters: Kathleen Milburn of Indianapolis, Pat Lewis of Columbus, IN, and Shirley Sewell of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
She was a homemaker and worked at Crowder's Drub Store from 1970 until 1980. She attended the Assembly of God Church.

Hamner – Harold Hamner of Newnan, GA, died Monday, October 15, 2001, at his residence. Born on May 17, 1920, in Junction City, KY, he was the son of William H. and Lilie (Smith) Hamner. He married Ruby Worl on October 4, 1941, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are four sons: Dean Hamner of Newnan, GA, John Hamner of Ft. Pierce, FL, Mark Hamner of El Paso, TX, and Alan Hamner of Baycliff, TX; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Owen, Clarence and Elmer Hamner; and one son, Michael Hamner.
He was a retired painter and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

Lee – Lyle Reed Lee of Mitchell, IN, died Sunday, October 14, 2001, at his residence. Born on April 22, 1939, in Sunnyside, MD, he was the son of Earl and Cleo (DeWitt) Lee. He married Geneva Ingram on April 11, 1981, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Kevin Trosper of Texas and Derek Lee of Ohio; two daughters, Cindy Ford of Indiana and Robin Heckman of News Jersey; one sister, Norma Jean Hull of Ohio; five granddaughters, four grandsons, and two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freightways in Richfield, OH, retiring in 1998 with 37 years of service. He was a graduate of Southern Garrett County Junior-Senior High School in Oakland, MD, and was a member of the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.

Houchin – Robert E. Houchin of Oaklandon, IN, died Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Community Hospital North. He was the son of Earl E. and Jeanne (Fulk) Houchin.

He was a 1976 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a degree in hotel management from Piedmont University. He was employed several years at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a member of Oaklandon Christian Church.

Santure – Myrna J. "Sissy" (Hollars) Santure of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, October 13, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on November 22, 1927, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Odis and Louise (Goodman) Hollars. She married Clayton Santure on June 15, 1957, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her mother, Louise Hollars of Bedford, IN; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Ansel Deckard of Bedford, IN; Kay and Bud Bridges of Mitchell, IN, and Donna and Dennis Maddox of Bedford, IN; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; two brothers, Sonny and Charles Lee; one nephew, and one great nephew.
She was a homemaker and a member of Monroe Michigan Missionary Baptist Church.

Hill – Marilyn Anne Hill of Fredericksburg, VA, formerly of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, October 11, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Born on July 25, 1947, she was the daughter of James L. and Esther M. (Hall) Hill.
Surviving are her mother, Esther Hill of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Carolyn A. Hill (her twin) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Sherry M. Cummings of Bedford, IN; and several aunts,, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, James, in March 1986; one brother, James R. Hill in 1981; maternal grandparents, Oral L. and Addie (Jackson) Hall; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Monclova (Fields) Hill.
She was a medical lab technician in Ft. Belvoir, VA. and was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of the John Wallace Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Kidd – Melvin Kidd of Owensburg, IN, died Thursday, October 11, 2001, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on March 14, 1929, in Wayne County, KY, he was the son of Harley and Pearlie (Thompson) Kidd. He married Linda Kay Brummett on December 24, 1968, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Tonya Dale Jones and her husband Roy of Owensburg, IN; four brothers: Goldman E. and Hobert Kidd, both of Springville, IN, Gola Kidd of Bedford, IN, and Ernie Kidd of Bloomington, IN; three sisters: Arie Rush of Bedford, IN, Dottie Murphy and Wilma D. Kidd, both of Seymour, IN; and one niece who was raised as a sister, Linda Sue Smith of Celina, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Allen Geiger; three brothers, Novel, Lester, and Leslie (in infancy) Kidd; and one sister, Ada Riser.
He was the owner and operator of the Kidd Sawmill in Fayetteville for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

McFadden – James R. "Bob" McFadden of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, October 11, 2001, at White River Lodge. Born on October 21, 1906, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Herman and Iva (Fry) McFadden. He married Thelma Sullivan on November 7, 1942, in Huntsville, AL, and she died in November, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Brown and Nancy Phipps, both of Bedford, IN; one son, William "Bill" McFadden and his wife Beverly of Bedford, IN; one sister, Mary Ellen Melcher of Bloomington, IN; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was a retired farmer, a graduate of Needmore High School, and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, where he served as deacon, National Farmers Organization, Lawrence County Farmers, and active in Springfield Feeder Auction.

Born on January 31, 1936, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Glenn and Anna Jean (Cassady) Henderson. He was former married to Lula M. Harper, deceased, and to Janice Travis Todd.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy Henderson and Richelle Deckard, both of Bedford, IN; one son, Richard (Richie) Henderson of Bedford, IN; one brother, Robert Henderson of Bedford, IN; one sister, Ann Curtis of West Palm Beach, FL; two grandchildren; one uncle, Gordon Henderson of Bedford, IN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and companion Margaret Thomas of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Henderson.

Nicholson – Deloris A. Nicholson of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on May 19, 1947, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of William and Wilma (Stockton) Wilson.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin and Jason Rayhill, both of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Maria Ferraina of Bloomington, IN; three sisters: Evelyn Allen of Indianapolis, Linda Murphy of Sacramento, CA, and Deitra Wilson of St. Petersburg, FL; two brothers, Gerry Wilson of New Palestine, IN, and Jimmy Wilson of Bedford, IN; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rita Wilson; and one brother, Ernie Wilson.
She was the assistant director of human resources at Dunn Memorial Hospital for twenty-eight years.

Smith – Russell M. Smith of Mitchell, IN, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born on July 8, 1921, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Harry B. and Mary (Beasley) Smith. He married Faye Chastain on September 12, 1944, and she died on April 24, 1973.
Surviving are one son, Russell Dean Smith of Mitchell, IN; friend, Jean Rout of Bedford, IN; one brother, Harry Wayne Smith of Mitchell, IN; two sisters, Priscilla Cessna and Joan Buher, both of Mitchell, IN; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Rhea Dawn Pyle on April 13, 1984; one sister, Lois Mitchell.

Reynolds – Thelma M. Reynolds of Bedford, IN, died Monday, October 8, 2001, at the Hospitality House. Born in 1909 in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Charles and Carrie (Goldsmith) Jean. She was twice married; first to Paul Dotts in 1925, then to Lester A. Reynolds on March 28, 1932. He died on April 19, 1988.
Surviving are three children, Estill Eugene Dotts of Bedford, IN, Jack D. Reynolds of Springville, IN, and Mrs. Jerry D. (Nancy) Covey of Bedford, IN; one sister, Pauline Saylor of Beech Grove, IN; three brothers, Roscoe Jean and Hugh Jean, both of Mitchell, IN, and Harold Jean of Bloomington, IN; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Maxine Chapman; two brothers, Ed and William Jean; one sister, Lorena Stephens; and one grandson, Michael Wray.

Storm – Kenneth B. Storm of Mitchell, IN, formerly of Windsor, IL, died Monday, October 8, 2001, at Paoli Health and Living Community Center. Born on March 25, 1931, in Windsor, IL, he was the son of Cecil Dean and Mary Louise (Meador) Storm. He married Beverly Joanne Calvert on June 10, 1952, and she preceded him in death.

Boruff – Joyce Roberta Boruff of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on November 21, 1919, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Berlin and Goldia (Harrell) Stafford. She married Berne Boruff on March 12, 1939, and he died February 21, 1996.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Kate Boruff of Frederick, MD; one daughter-in-law, Julia Boruff Hale of St. Leonard, MD; three sisters, Clara Ellen Parham and Helen Grubb, both of Bedford, IN, and Rose Hardwick of Ft. Walton Teach, FL; one brother, Gene Stafford of Gallup, NM; one brother-in-law, Claude Boruff of Bedford, IN; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, John Boruff; one brother, Gordon Stafford; and one sister, Margeurite Davis.
She retired from Dunn Memorial Hospital and attended the First Christian Church.

Lee – Jack D. Lee of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1928, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Thomas L. and Roxie (Smith) Lee. He married Etta Mae Englehaupht and they divorced. He married Zellma Louise Grubbs Spinks on December 25, 1975, in Orleans, IN, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are four sons: Rick Spinks of Bedford, IN, Byron Wilson of Nebraska; Jack H. Lee and Nathan Lee, both of Bedford, IN; six daughters: Linda Kavanaugh and Cindy Inman, both of Linton, IN, Kathy Runyan of Ellettsville, IN; Sara Stewart of Indianapolis, Ramona Stultz and Sheila Terrell, both of Bedford, IN; one sister, Jaunita Meadows of Bedford, IN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jim, and Bob Lee.
He was a truck driver, retired from Peake, Inc., and was a World War II Airforce veteran. He was a member of Bedford Boat & Sportsmen's Club and the Teamsters Union.

McDonald – William Henry (Bill) McDonald of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on November 2, 1929, in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of William Henry and Mary Quinn (Kerr) McDonald. He married Mary Lou Winter on December 27, 1948, in Brown County, IN, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, William (Bill) McDonald of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Anne) Clark and Susan McDonald, both of Bloomington, IN; three sisters: Mrs. Richard (Jeanne) Nelson of Naples, FL, Mrs. Stanley (Peg) Aleksie, and Mrs. Mary Quinn Phillips, both of Florida; four grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Kathryn.
He retired in 1994 as Executive Director of the Indiana Limestone Institute. He was a graduate of Bloomington High School and Indiana University and was a member of Elks 826, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and Bedford Little Theatre.

Gould – John Wm. Gould of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at Westview Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 29, 1926, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of John E. and Cora (Pace) Gould. He married Eva Tidd on December 28, 1946, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Brenda Kaye Fiddler and her husband Edward of Bedford, IN; one brother, Gerald Robert Gould of Livonia, MI; one sister, Jeanne Young of Bedford, IN; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; one uncle, George Robert Pace of Bedford, IN; several cousins and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was an automobile dealer in Bedford for more than thirty-five years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the American Legion Gillen Post #33.

Hart – Bobby Donald Hart of Bedford, IN, died Friday, October 5, 2001, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on Mary 12, 1930, in Mitchell, IN, he was the son of Fred Sherman and Bessie Ann (Rayhill) Hart. He married Alice Marie Terrell on October 25, 1957, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Doris Jane Robertson of Texas; one brother, Walter F. Hart of Bloomington; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and a former son-in-law, Mark Key. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Ida Beasley, Margaret McNeely, Gladys Whalin and Lena Whalin; and four brothers: Cecil, Dennis, Virgil, and Clarence Hart.
He was a retired employee of W. F. Meyers Company, a 1950 graduate of Mitchell High School, and attended Indiana University. He was a member of the Mason Lodge #14 F&AM, Order of Eastern Star #129, and the Oolitic United Methodist Church.

Hardwick – Jeffrey S. Hardwick, D.D.S. of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, October 4, 2001, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis from complications following a stroke. Born on November 9, 1959, in Butzback, Germany, he was the son of Arthur Collier and Nedra (Hall) Hardwick Collier. He married Lisa Siemers on August 3, 1985, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, John Hardwick, at home; one daughter, Sara Hardwick, at home; his father, Arthur Collier; one sister, Susan Hardwick of Newburgh, IN; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother.
He was a dentist in Bedford, practicing wince 1986. He was a 1982 graduate of Indiana University and a 1986 graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church, American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, and Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity.
