Camp Mariposa – Aaron’s Place, is a year-round, free addiction and drug prevention and mentoring program for children and teens aged 9-12, affected by the substance use disorder of a family member. Camps take place six times a year in central and southern Indiana locations. Activities include traditional camp activities, educational and therapeutic activities led by mental health professionals and mentors trained in substance use prevention.
“The healing doesn’t just happen during structured therapy,” said Rachel McFadden, MS, OTR, clinical director of youth programming at Aaron’s Place. “Sometimes it happens in a quiet moment of recognition, an honored memory, and a shared smile.”
Camp Mariposa is a program of the Eluna Network and Overdose Lifeline is an official provider of Aaron’s Place in Indiana. For more information about Camp Mariposa – Aaron’s Place, visit AaronsPlace.org. For more information about Overdose Lifeline, visit OverdoseLifeline.org.
