Orleans American Legion recently helped Kick-Start the upcoming 2023 Dogwood Festival. Legion member Will Terry said that the Legion members recently voted to donate money to help off-set the Chamber's large start-up costs for the annual Dogwood Festival.
Post 69 Commander, Ron Taylor, expressed his pride in being able to assist the town and its residents in any and all endeavors undertaken. Taylor said, "The Legion is so proud to help our town and encourage our organizations and residents to also help in any way and every way possible. The Dogwood Festival is only one of many events that makes our town unique and proud. What a great time to be a member of the Orleans American Legion!"
The Legion has been a longtime sponsor and provider of the festival carnival which sets up and operates the entire week of the Dogwood to the delight of countless festival goers both young and old each and every April.
Legion representatives hope others in the community will follow their example by stepping up and helping to keep the town's signature festival going for many more years to come.
Orleans Chamber Exceptive Director Robert F. Henderson said the Orleans Legion continues to be an integral part of the Dogwood Festival's overall success year after year. We are grateful for their continual support and community partnership.
The 53rd Dogwood Festival kicks off April 22 and will run through April 29.
