Margaret L. Goble
Margaret L. Goble, 82, of Seymour, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Lutheran Community Home. She was born on November 30, 1943, and on April 24, 1968, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, she married William Goble, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Margaret was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. She found great joy in baking cakes and making Christmas candy and was well known for her delicious cheesecake, which was a favorite among family and friends. She had a love for gardening, especially tending to her flowers, and enjoyed playing cards and reading. More than anything, Margaret treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories through her kindness, warmth, and caring spirit.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Ernie (Brenda) Goble, David (Rikki) Goble, Curt (Connie) Burns, and Carol (Mike) McIntosh; grandchildren, Brandy (Clint) Robinson, Josh Burns, and Jessica Burns; great-grandchildren, Rylee Johnson and Waylon Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Goble.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:00 am, at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, 344 Vehslage Road in Seymour, Indiana, with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Scotty Wessel and Jon Pace at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.

Robert Eugene Stewart
MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Robert Eugene Stewart, 101, passed away Friday, April 4, 2026, at his residence in Melbourne, Florida.
Born March 21, 1925, in Bono Township, he was the son of Herbert and Bessie (Roberts) Stewart, and the brother of Norman Stewart. He married Dixie Marie Dunn on July 22, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 5, 1994.
Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War and eventually achieved the rank of Captain in the Navy Reserves. He retired as a contract manager in bioscience and had received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southeast Missouri State College.
Surviving are his children, Jeffrey (Shelley) Stewart of Apopka, Florida, Barry (Michelle) Stewart of Apopka, Florida, and Rebecca (Jeremy) Stewart Nagel of Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Wyatt Nagel, Rachel Nagel, and Jake Stewart; nephew, Dean (Paula) Stewart of Bono Township; and niece, Marilyn (Jay) Wilkins of Franklin, Tennessee.
His parents; wife; stepdaughter, Kimberley LaRue; and brother, Norman Stewart, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Reggie Clark officiating. Burial, alongside his wife Dixie, will follow at Talbott Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Delores Marthelene Beasley
MITCHELL – Delores Marthelene Beasley, 93, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born May 2, 1932, in Orange County, she was the daughter of Walter Clarence and Sarah Lois (Pruett) Powell. She married Charles Edward Beasley on January 24, 1953 and he preceded her in death December 16, 2002.
Delores was a 1950 graduate of West Baden High School. She worked for M. Fine & Sons and Trav-lers, and was a homemaker. Delores worked on the family farm and loved sewing, gardening, and canning. She always enjoyed watching the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Delores was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Sharon (Gary) Cheatham, Larry (Debbie) Beasley, Judy Pugh, and Troy (Sherri) Beasley; grandchildren, Zachariah (Heather) Beasley, Audria (Mike) Griffin, Ezra Beasley, Brian (Amanda) Cheatham, Karen Cheatham, Trisha (Nathan) King, Shala (Jesse) Burnette, Nicholas (Bailey) Beasley, Trenton Beasley, and Treva (Grant) Turner; great-grandchildren, Braxston Griffin, Adalyn Griffin, Kolton Beasley, Lincoln Beasley, Blake Cheatham, Cole Cheatham, Abby Lechner, Lane Cheatham, Noel Menaugh, Reagan (Madison Hensley) Walls, Hunter Sneed, Jimma Sneed, Hattie Beasley, Hank Beasley, Lennon Beasley, and Nicolette Turner; great-great granddaughter, Serena Walls; step grandchildren, Alayla Mitchell, Aiden, Jaydan, Blake, Peyton, and Kinley King; step great-grandchildren, Azella King and Psalm Pinnick; and brothers, Billy Dean Powell of Mitchell and Bernard Earl Powell of Bedford.
Her parents; husband; brothers, George Robert Powell, Lee Clark “Plush” Powell, and Lyle Scott “Bud” Powell; and son-in-law, Michael Pugh, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Don McNabb officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church.

Sharon Dale Fox
August 14, 1944 – April 4, 2026
Sharon Dale Fox, 81, of Bedford, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2026. She was born on August 14, 1944, in Bedford to the late James and Olive Case Chaillaux. She married Jerry Fox, and he preceded her in death in 2016.
Sharon was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and worked as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln and Parkview Elementary Schools, where she enjoyed helping and encouraging the children she worked with. She loved visiting the beach, which she often called her happy place, and she found great joy in collecting seashells along the shore. Sharon cherished life’s simple moments, but nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering, and the memories they shared together will always be treasured.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kelli (Brian) Prince and Kris (Tom) Allen; stepson, Jeff (Marie) Fox; grandchildren, Gavin (Jacey) Anderson, Lance (Amanda) Grimes, Jesse Prince, Zach Prince, Camden (Jade Hill) Wedgewood, Vance Allen, Landon (Anicia) Fox, and Garrett Fox; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Terri) Chaillaux; sister-in-law, Joyce Chaillaux; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Fox; parents, James and Olive Case Chaillaux; sister, Nancy Baker; brother, Kenneth Chaillaux; and an infant brother.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana 47421. Graveside services will follow at the Old Union Christian Church Cemetery, with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating.

Beulah “Boots” M. Wright
TUNNELTON – Beulah “Boots” M. Wright, 90, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her residence.
Born July 23, 1935, in Jessamine County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Harlan and Ora (Adams) Whittaker. She married William “Bill” Wright on December 29, 1961 and he survives.
Boots was the Postmaster at the Tunnelton Post Office for 45 years. She was a devout Christian and was a member of the Tunnelton United Methodist Church. Boots was a fantastic cook, baker and candy maker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved doting on her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, William “Bill” Wright of Tunnelton; children, Craig (Alfredia) Thomas of Bedford and Jamie (Karen) Wright of Noblesville; grandchildren, McKenzie (James) McDonald, Dylan Thomas, Evan Wright, Ava Wright, and Cory Thomas; and great-granddaughter, Madisyn Thomas.
Her parents; infant daughter, Sherrie Lynn Wright; and siblings, Katherine Stevens, Otis Whittaker, Charles Whittaker, and Edwina Cole, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Tunnelton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert Steven “Bob” Strothmann
December 27, 1946 – March 31, 2026
Robert Steven “Bob” Strothmann, 79, of Seymour, IN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 31, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Born December 27, 1946, in McLeansboro, IL, he was the son of Clemens L.F. and Freda E. Strothmann.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Seymour Senior High School, a 1970 graduate of Purdue University (B.S. in Mechanical Engineering), and pursued numerous post graduate courses in Computer Science.
Bob fell in love and married the love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” Anne Mack on May 22, 1971 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. The couple was blessed to have the service performed by Kathy’s father, Rev. Victor A. Mack. Their union endured almost 55 years, giving them two daughters; Stephanie Anne and Heidi Suzanne.
Bob had a work ethic like no other and started his working career at Texas Eastern, then Cummins as a Software Engineer, before moving to Gar Tech Enterprises in Austin, IN as their Software Engineer where he was still working.
Bob was a man of faith and believed in the Triune God, and he enjoyed so many things during his life. He enjoyed playing music on his tenor saxophone and clarinet, working out, and driving fast. His happiest place was the country, visiting his daughter’s small farm in rural Jackson County, which brought back happy memories of his grandparents’ farm in Southern Illinois. A true joy, Bob’s favorite thing was to take the couple’s dog, Abby, out for car rides.
Survivors are his wife, Kathy; his daughters, Stephanie Anne Strothmann of Seymour and Heidi Suzanne (Andy) Worthington of Reelsville, IN; and grandsons, Oscar McQuay Worthington and Irwin Noah Worthington. He was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn daughter, Jennifer Eileen Strothmann; and stillborn sister, Jane Ellen Strothmann.
Visitation will be held from 2:00PM-4:00PM on Friday, April 10, 2026 with a celebration of Bob’s life at 4:00PM at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
To honor Bob’s wishes, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran High School, the Jackson County Humane Society, Jackson County United Way, or a charity of the donor’s choice in lieu of flowers.

James William “Jim” Griffey
September 5, 1951 – April 2, 2026
James William “Jim” Griffey, 74, of Clinton, IN, passed away at his residence at 3:40pm on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Born September 5, 1951, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Katherine (McIntyre) Steers. He married Retta Adams on March 14, 1970, and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2012.
Jim graduated from the Arlington High School in Indianapolis, IN, and then proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corp. After serving his country, he worked as a Union steel worker until his retirement. After retirement, Jim worked at Camp Atterbury as a Fiber Optic Locator. He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church in Waldron, IN, a member of the Clinton Eagles Lodge, and was an avid ham radio operator. He loved motorcycle riding, fishing, golf, and was a self-taught piano, guitar and saxophone player, Jim also enjoyed shooting pool.
Jim is survived by his three daughters, Leah (Paul) Welker, Velvet (Rick) Schmidt, and Amber (Scott) Deverall; four grandchildren, Alisha VanArsdale, Jordan VanArsdale, Abby Welker and Lauren Schmidt; step-granddaughter, Yasa Deverall; and one step-great granddaughter, Emberlynn Deverall. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Steers; his wife, Retta Griffey; half-sister, Karen Sue Jordan; and his step-grandchild, Alex Schmidt.
Graveside services for James William “Jim” Griffey will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Heltonville, IN, with Pastor George Mitchell Officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the Honor Guard of the Gillen Post 33 of the American Legion.

Marilyn “Sue” Meadows
Marilyn “Sue” Meadows, 88 of Bedford passed away on March 30, 2026, at IU Health in Bedford. Sue was born on April 9, 1937, to Forrest and Anna (Jackson) Inman. Sue married Virgil R. Meadows, he preceded her in death on April 10, 2001. Sue retired from the Citizens National Bank in Bedford after more than 30 years of service, she then managed the Senior Citizens in Bedford for several years.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Meadows, and Robbie Meadows, six grandchildren, Christy (Bill) Norris, Brandy (Jamie) Bell, Heather (Thomas) Sargent, Andrew (Emi Yamanaka) Meadows, Phillip Meadows, and Bryan Meadows, six great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, nieces, Susie Jarman, and Melanie Inman Rainey, several nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil R. Meadows, two sons, Bryan Meadows, and James Meadows, one daughter-in-law, Lisa Meadows.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Cresthaven Funeral Home burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens, visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Cresthaven Funeral Home.
