Indiana
The League of Women Voters of Indiana (LWVIN) is proud to become a part of The Indiana Civics Coalition and to join Business For America (BFA) as it announces the BFA-led launch of the Indiana Business Alliance for Civics (IBAC) on Monday, September 18th, 2023 at 10:00am at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
LWVIN believes civic engagement is the responsibility of everyone in our communities; this
includes individuals, organizations, and businesses alike. The responsibility to be good ‘civic
citizens’ should be shared by all. But the business community can play a greater role to promote civic health. To quote BFA, “Business leaders can play an essential role in addressing Indiana’s civic education gap by stepping outside the partisan fray and promoting constructive bipartisan dialogue... to discuss ways for business to play a role in elevating civic literacy in the Hoosier State.”
Some of the core and ongoing activities for League Chapters throughout the State are voter
registration, voter education, and voter engagement. Monday, September 18this sandwiched
between two other very important dates – Constitution Day on September 17th, and National Voter Registration Day on September 19th. With these important September dates fast approaching, here are highlights for some of the League Chapters that will be conducting voter registration drives on or near National Voter Registration Day, September 19th.
