Angela Michelle Owens, 42, of Bedford, died at 3:22 a.m. on Wednesday at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.
Born March 7, 1969, in Bowling Green, Ky., she was the daughter of Donald and Norma Tincher. She first married Larry Abel and later married Rob Owens and he survives.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Rob, of Bedford; a son, Darren Abel and wife Cheyenna of Bedford; a daughter, Miranda Abel and her significant other Kala Pheylan; stepchildren, Destiny and Andrew Wilson; three grandchildren, Braxton Johnson and Sadie Wilson and Tonya Wilson; two brothers, Brian Mitchell of French Lick and Troy Mitchell of Paoli; a sister, Janet Foster of Kentucky; her ex-husband, Larry Abel; and her biological mother, Patricia Parker.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Beyers-Rainbolt Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary.

Ruth McGlothlin, 76, of Bedford, died peacefully at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday at Garden Villa in Bedford with her family by her side.
Born Aug. 17, 1934, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of John Elza and Frances L. (Corbin) Wiles. She married Mackay McGlothlin and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She had worked at PRD in Bedford.
She was a member of the American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very loving and wonderful mother and grandmother who devoted her life to taking care of her family. She enjoyed going to play bingo with her granddaughter, Amber.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa McGlothlin and companion Joanna Edwards of Mitchell and Cathy Williams and husband Jon of Bedford; one son, Corky McGlothlin and wife Cindy of Bedford; one brother, Larry Wiles and wife Carol of Bedford; four granddaughters, Amber Grogan and husband Cheyenne of Crane, Joy McGlothlin and Gabrielle McGlothlin, both of Bedford, and Wendy Arthur of Bloomington; four grandsons, Joe McGlothlin, Michael Boles and Robbie Boles, all of Bedford, and Jon Williams, Jr. of Bloomington; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Buddy, J.R. and Austin Wiles; and one sister, Betty Flick.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Pastor Tim Wiles officiating. Burial will follow.

Charles E. Baker, 83, of Oolitic, died at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 31, 1928, in Owensburg, he was the son of Frank and Ruby (Wagner) Baker. He married Jewel Adams and she survives.
He was employed in Research and Development at NWSC Crane and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell of Oolitic; a son, Mike Baker and wife Shelly (Arp) Baker of Judah; two grandchildren, Shaun Baker and Robyn Baker, both of Bedford; one great-grandchild, Mackenzie Lee Baker of Bedford; three step-great-grandchildren, Morgan Plocher, Gage Plocher and Kaitlyn Teagarden, all of Bedford; one brother, Paul Baker of Owensburg; two sisters, Ethel Baker Jackson of Owensburg and Carol Baker Wisley of Oolitic; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Baker; one sister, Imogene Baker; and a half-brother, Albert Wagner.

Jamison “Jami” Hopper, 34, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on Sept. 1, 1976, in Bedford, Jami married Holly Pruitt on June 3, 2000.
He had worked at Jensen Cabinet Inc. and Auto & Truck Restylers.
Jami was a member of the Orleans Masonic Lodge No. 153, F&AM and Orleans Christian Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing poker, volleyball, golf, and was an avid softball player with Tim’s Tavern. Jami won the Brian Scott Keane Award for sportsmanship and mental attitude at the Mitchell Babe Ruth league in 1992.
“Jami was everyone’s best friend and his love of life will be missed.”

Joyce A. Wilcox Salyers, 74, Danville, passed away Wednesday in her residence.
Born Feb. 20, 1937, in Campbellsburg, she was the daughter of John C. and Helen Briscoe Wilcox.
She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and worked as a shipping clerk for many years.
Joyce married Leland “Joe” Salyers on Jan. 18, 1958 in Leesville, and he survives. Other survivors include her children, Jeffrey Joe Salyers and wife Anita of New Maysville, Jill Ann Birchler and husband Randy of Danville, and Jerilyn Renea Fisher and husband Greg of Fishers; brother, Larry Wilcox and wife Ottie of Bedford; sister, Shirley Kielhorn and husband the Rev. Frances I. Stultz, 86, North Vernon, died Tuesday morning at the Jennings County Nursing Home in North Vernon.
She was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Bedford, the daughter of Carroll and Pansy (Cooper) Morrison.
While living in North Vernon, she worked at Green Thumb and the Jennings County Historical Society as a Museum Assistant. While living in Bedford, she worked at the Bedford Public Library and ran the Homestead Restaurant and Stultz’s Craft Shop.
She was a member of the Jennings County Historical Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Suellen (William) Viers, North Vernon; one son, Carroll Edward (Jackie) Owen, Madison; one stepson, Richard Stultz of Bedford; one sister, Emily Batman of Clearwater, Fla.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Owen; one stepson, Franklin David Stultz; one grandson, Stevie Viers; and two brothers, Carroll Morrison and Glenn Morrison.

Douglas E. Moore, 56, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday in Bedford.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1954, at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford to Ervin and Barbara (Bailey) Moore, He married Marsha (Scott) Moore and she preceded him in death.
Doug was a self employed electrician and he attended the Body of Christ Fellowship in Bedford.
Survivors include his parents, Ervin and Barbara Moore of Bedford; two daughters, Lori Ann Moore and Jamie Moore, both of Bedford; grandchildren, Tyler and Carol Ann; and one brother, James Scott Moore of Springville.

Eleanor Louise Smith, 82, Mitchell (Lawrenceport Community), passed away at midnight Monday at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Aldon and Bessie (Brock) Cogwell. She married Harry Wayne Smith April 9, 1948.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed farming.
She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1947, and was a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa, and Lawrence County Homemakers Club.
She was a devoted wife and mother.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Wayne Smith of Mitchell; children, Linda (Mike) Wedgewood of Sevierville, Tenn., Mary Jo (Mick) Losey of Mitchell, Harriet (Tim) Prince of Anderson, S.C., and Larry (Connie) Smith and Mike (Lori) Smith, all of Mitchell; grandchildren, Jeri (Jason) Brown, Dustin (Misty) Johnson, Melinda (Brian) Howle, Angie (Aaron) Kolar, Jacob Smith, Chelsey Smith and Levi Smith; and great-grandchildren, Marisa and Lucas Brown, Jeslyn and Dalton Johnson, Georganna and Emma Kolar, and Alexa Howle.

Mr. Merlin L. Sears, age 82, of Bedford, passed away at 4:22 a.m. on Saturday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington.
He was born June 7, 1929, in Bedford, to Ambrose and Esther (Baker) Sears. He married Irma Mae Williams on Dec. 18, 1948, she preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2007.
He retired from GM Powertrain in Bedford after many years of service, and was a Regional Director of United Auto Workers in Indiana and Kentucky. He was a member of UAW Local No. 440 and the Highview Baptist Church in Oolitic.
He was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash and was also an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion, Gillen Post No. 33, Bedford.
Survivors include two daughters, “Rosie” Rozella Ritchison of Seymour and Patricia Sears of Bedford; three sons, Michael L. Sears (Gail), Jeffrey Sears and Timothy Sears, all of Bedford; his companion, Dana Dippel of Bedford; four grandchildren, Misty Wellman (Dane) of Nashville, Tenn., Dirk Sears (Missy) of Oolitic, Keith Collins (Angela) of Seymour and Kaitlyn Sears of Mitchell; six great-grandchildren, Grant and Clark Wellman, Coleton Ballentine, Chloe Sears, Ryan and Ashley Collins; one sister, Ruth Brim (Phillip) of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

Clarice was a homemaker, and member of the Church of Christ, she also attended Spice Valley Church of Christ.

She had been employed as a nurse technician at Bedford Regional Medical Center, and attended Mitchell Wesleyan Church. Carol loved her grandkids, and cooking, sewing, and shopping.

James Walter Hawkins, 87, of Bedford, died at 6:16 a.m. Friday at his residence.
Born Sept. 1, 1923, in Bedford, he was the son of Geoffrey Gordon and Edna Grace (Dodds) Hawkins. He married Elsie Lucille Hunter on Dec. 19, 1946, and she preceded him in death.
He was a farmer and worked at General Motors for over 30 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a graduate of Shawswick High School with the Class of 1941.
He was a member of New Hope Community Church, UAW Local No. 44, serving as trustee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a diesel mechanic on Navy transport ships.

Emma Lee Tedrow, 79, Mitchell, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born April 4, 1932, in Shelby County, Ky., she was the daughter of Virgil and Emma (Miller) Cheek. She married Donald Tedrow Feb. 8, 1975, and he preceded her in death May 12, 2002.
She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Full Gospel Church in Bedford.

Earl T. Silvers
Feb. 5, 1918 — June 9, 2011
A World War II veteran, he served in the 10th Infantry regiment, 5th Infantry division. He was proud of his service with this unit and the unit had a terrific battle history during the war. They were part of Gen. George Patton’s 3rd Army, and the “Red Devils” of the 5th Division were instrumental in the success of the 3rd Army in moving across France and Germany. Earl was one of the soldiers to deploy with the 10th Regiment to Iceland and then move through England and ultimately by boat to the shores of France. The unit entered France on 9 June 1943 at Utah Beach, three days after D-Day, and after fighting their way into Germany, participated in the Battle of the Bulge to break through the Siegfried Line and move on into the heart of Germany.
A quiet man who will be greatly missed by his nephew, Robert Golden; his nieces Kay Garbe and Gladys Lee Sansone; and his many great-, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Sylvia Faye Watterson, 80, Mitchell, passed away at 1 a.m. Wednesday at her residence.
Born Aug. 31, 1930, in Orleans, she was the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Lynton) Bell. She married Carl Frederick “Fred” Watterson June 18, 1949, and he preceded her in death April 2, 2002.
She was secretary for Watterson Shuttle Service and graduated in 1948 from Orleans High School.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathy (Roger) Jones of Mitchell; a son, Dennis F. (Brenda) Watterson of Mitchell; sisters, Betty Hackler of Bedford and Emma Bell of Orleans; brothers, Kenneth Bell of Mitchell and Larry Bell of Mitchell; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her parents; husband; brother, Howard Wayne Bell; and sisters, Linda Bell, Wanda Foster, Hazel Smith, and Elizabeth Bell, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with the Rev. Wade Judy officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ruby B. Grimes, age 100, of Auburn, Mich., formerly of Orleans, died at 12:45 p.m. on Friday at Carriage House of Bay City, Mich.
Born on April 13, 1911, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Orville and Ella (Anderson) Bodenhamer. She married Loral T. Grimes on Aug. 25, 1935, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1990.
She was a bookkeeper and office manager for many years. She was a member of the Orleans Christian Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Auburn, Mich.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Curt) Campbell of Auburn, Mich.; two grandsons, Doug (Kelly) McCracken of Dallas, Texas, and Greg (Holly) McCracken of Plymouth, Mich.; two sisters, Dorothy Wykoff of Vero Beach, Fla., and Velma Todd of Meridian, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Ed Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery, Bedford.

Joseph W. “Joe” Goldsby, 49, Oolitic, died Monday at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born July 24, 1961, in Phoenix, Ariz., he was the son of Carl Donald Goldsby and Wanda L. (Ridenour) Murphy.
He was a custom furniture finisher.
Survivors include his mother, Wanda L. Murphy of Bedford; former wife, Dawn Wood Oppendahl of Greenwood; daughter, Skyler M. Goldsby of Greenwood; son, Jeremiah J. Goldsby of Greenwood; sister, Terry A. Goldsby-Fiely of Greenwood; brother, John A. Goldsby, Bloomington; four uncles; two nieces, Jamie Fiely of Chicago and Andrea Fiely of Greenwood; and two nephews, Joe Fiely and Chad Underwood, both of Greenwood.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mable Deavers; maternal grandfather, G. Arnold Ridenour; paternal grandparents, Clyde and Nora Ritter; his father, Carl Donald Goldsby; two uncles; and one aunt.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford. There will be a private burial in Green Hill Cemetery.

Carlos Lee Blakey, 100, St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Lawrence County, died Friday at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Fla.
Born May 15, 1911, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Robert and Susan (Green) Blakey. He married Mary L. Hunter on Oct. 28, 1935, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2003.
He was a retired diesel mechanic from Pinellas Lumber and Concrete in Clearwater, Fla.
He attended Fairview Church in Bedford and Central Bible Church in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include three sons, Don (Amy) Blakey of Bedford, Dennis Blakey of St. Petersburg, and Steven (Betty) Blakey of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Elaine Blakey (fiance John Fitch) of St. Petersburg and Barbara (Tom) Miller of Bedford; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Cheryl) Blakey of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Frank and Ray and two infant brothers, Silas and John Thomas Blakey; sisters, Ruby Webber, Naomi Hutchison, Lillian Copas and Hazel; daughter-in-law, Gayle Blakey; granddaughter, Tracey Jo Blakey; great-grandsons, Evan Blakey, Bobby and Tony Johnson, and T.J. Holtsclaw; and great-granddaughter Robie Marie Gandarillies.

Daisy M. Reynolds, 77, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday at her residence.
She was born on March 2, 1934 in Bedford, to William and Betty (Cook) Viers. Daisy married Roger R. Reynolds Jr. on Sept. 2, 1951, and he preceded her in death.
Daisy worked as a hairdresser and at Ford Visteon in Bedford. She was a member at the Grace Methodist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary; she also loved to play poker with family and friends.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Cathy Meadows and husband Michael of Heltonville; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Jeanie Davis of Wabash; and one brother, Bill Viers of North Vernon.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; two daughters, Sheila Nikirk and Terri Gray; and four sisters, Juanita Bates, Dorothy Quakenbush, Mildred Meadows and Marjorie Hannum.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Joseph W. ‘JoBill’ Ritchison

Joseph W. “JoBill” Ritchison, 71, of Bedford, died at home on Saturday following a short illness.
He was born March 25, 1940, to William T. and Eulah Mae (Tucker) Ritchison. He married Edith R. Neal on May 25, 1974, and she survives.
Joe was a 1958 graduate of Needmore High School and he retired from Whitney Tool Company.
He enjoyed fishing, his vegetable garden and yard care. He was a Christian, having given his life to Christ late in life.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Joseph “Jody” W. (April) Ritchison Jr. and Timothy Neal Ritchison; two daughters, Tracy Lynn Cushway and Patricia Jo Ritchison; two grandsons, Daniel and Shane (Andrea) Staggs; one granddaughter, Blaise Nycole Ritchison; one granddaughter of the heart, Tiphnie Nevaeh VanHentenryck; one great-grandson, Jeremy Staggs; a sister, Carolyn Sue Stewart of Bedford; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, and daughter of the heart, Crystal VanHentenryck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Billy Lee Ritchison; and an older brother, Donald Ritchison.
There will be no formal funeral service as he will be cremated. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
We, his family, request that a donation to the American Cancer Society be made in his honor in lieu of flowers.

Buford D. “Bud” Hartzell, 79, of Mitchell, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
He was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Mitchell, the son of Buford and Magel (Chastain) Hartzell. He married Peggy Lewis in 1952 in Bedford.
He was retired from the First National Bank in Mitchell.
He was a member of the Mitchell First Christian Church. He was a board member of the Virgil I. Grissom Memorial and the Opera House in Mitchell. He was a Sagamore of the Wabash and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving 1950-54.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Mitchell; a son, Mark Hartzell of Mitchell; a grandson, Nathan Hartzell; and one sister, Phyllis Powers of Bradenton, Fla.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Hartzell in July 1997.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Mike Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Gayle Burton, 94, of Orleans, died Friday evening at the Paoli Health and Living in Paoli, Indiana.
Gayle was born September 3, 1916 in Paoli Township, Orange County, Indiana. Her parents were Ernest O. and Margaret Kaiser Pickens.
She graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of the Orleans Christian Church, the Orleans Order of Eastern Star #352 and was an Orange County 4H Leader for many years.
She was married to Harold Kenneth Burton on April 11, 1936 and he preceded in death on February 27, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Michael D. (Laura Joan) Burton of Orleans and her daughter, Patricia Lynn (M. James) Mathers, also of Orleans. There are six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Gayle was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Hazel Rasche of Orleans and Majel Goodin of Mitchell, Indiana.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 with Bro. Thomas Bostic officiating. Calling hours will be at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday.

She was born March 8, 1966, in Bedford, the daughter of Clint Raymond Keith and Velma (Phillips) Eagers.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two brothers, Roger Keith of Springville and Raymond (Terri) Keith of Bedford; one niece, Trisha Keith; one nephew, Jackie Keith; one great-niece, Marislynn Keith; one great-nephew, Cody Keith; two aunts, Zula (Roy) Bell and Betty (Preston) Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jackie Keith.

Barbara Ellen (Powell) Fackler, 82, of Rolling Meadows, Ill. died Thursday at her residence.
She was born March 14, 1929, in Oak Park, Ill, to the late Dewey and Frances Powell.
A graduate of Notre Dame High School, she and her husband, Paul, moved to Rolling Meadows in 1954 and transferred with her husband to Bedford in 1971 and then back to Rolling Meadows in 1997.
She had a career in civil service, working in the defense department, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Colette Church and Rolling Meadows Senior Center.
She was the wife of Paul Fackler; and mother of Sandra Fackler Anderson, David (Mary) and the late Georgia Fackler. Also surviving are five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond (Nancy) Powell.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Collette Church. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Ill.

Betty W. Deckard, 80, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital in the presence of her loving family.
She was born in Pinhook, the daughter of Lovell and Lillie (Winegar) Sowders and attended Shawswick High School.
She was a retired employee of Cook, Inc. and previously worked for Sarkes-Tarzian Corp., RCA of Bloomington and Bloomington Plastics. She was the first female school bus driver for the Monroe County School Corporation.
The true loves of Betty’s life were her church and her family. She loved to sing, served as choir leader and often as a greeter at the Sanders Pentecostal Church where she was a longtime member. Her family, her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were precious to her.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Becky Deckard of Springville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Roger Vaught of Bloomington, Karen Hale of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joy and Steve King of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Jim Ray, Carol and Don Andis and Kay and Randy King, all of Bedford; and one brother and sister-in-law, Lovell “Jr.” and Penny Sowders, also of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ancil Deckard in 1994 and one brother, Danny Sowders.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sanders Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Clover Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 and at the church on Saturday one hour preceding the services.

Jack Neal Sears, 56, of Vallonia, died at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbus Regional Hospital. He had been ill for three years.
Born Jan. 5, 1955, in Bedford, he was the son of William Jack Sears and Marcella J. Turpin Sears, both whom survive in Bedford. He married Rita Lonsberry in November of 2004 at the Medora Christian Church and she survives in Vallonia.
He attended Medora United Methodist Church.
He worked for General Motors in Bedford for 34 years. He was a member of the UAW.
Mr. Sears loved fishing, camping, and still board shooting.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by two children, Rusty (Kristina) Sears of Mitchell and Steven Sears of Bedford; two stepchildren, Stacie Johnson of Medora and Shannon (Kenny) Flynn of Springville; two sisters, Amy (Tony) Wray of Buddha and Julie (Glen) Henderson of Bedford; four grandchildren, Jackie, Chase and Matthew Sears and Alex Lashlee; five stepgrandchildren, Shanace, Shiann, and Dylan Johnson and Kameron and Kailen Flynn; one sister-in-law, Jerri Kay (Tom) Starr of Medora; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia with the Rev. Dereck Fields and the Rev. Ken Bushey officiating. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery.

Born Sept. 18, 1940, in Louisville, he was the son of Lanclet Yank and Wilma Lucille (Minger) Terry.
He was a graphics designer for Wiley Publishing and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his former wife, Barbara Terry of Bedford; one daughter, Brett Terry of Westfield,; and three brothers, James Terry of Indianapolis, Michael Terry of Tampa, Fla. and Patrick Terry of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was employed at Rose Hill Greenhouse in Eminence, Ky.
He was an Army Veteran.
He is survived by a dear friend, Rita Nunn of Mitchell; his sons, Michael Tillette of Carrollton, Ky., and J.T. Nunn of Mitchell; four daughters, Cynthia Louden of Carrollton, Ky., Leah Howell of Salem, Shelly Jones of Madison and Rebecca Nunn of Mitchell; one brother, Millard Tillette of Georgia; two sisters, Vicky Neargarder of Carmel and Dorinda Hamilton of Michigan; and 10 grandchildren.

Joe Richard Dobkins, 77, of 1616 13th Street, Bedford, died at 11:26 a.m. on Saturday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born Dec. 23, 1933, in Bedford, he was the son of Dow Dale and Elsie (Bolding) Dobkins. He married Mona Conner on July 19, 1968, and she survives.
He retired from General Motors as a die cast cleaner on Oct. 1, 2003. He was a Paratrooper for the U.S. Army and a member of the UAW Local No. 440.
He was an avid roller skater and managed Anderson Rollerland for over 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Gail of Bedford; one daughter, Brandi Dobkins of Bedford; two sisters, Martha McReynolds of Arizona and Jeanette Ashley of Michigan City; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Dobkins and Lois Dobkins; two nieces, Janet Collier and Delores Johnson, both of Bloomington; and one nephew, Wayne Hotseller of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Dobkins; and three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Jackie Dobkins.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1935, in Bloomington, to Stanley and Flora (Sexton) Anderson. Marjie married Earl H. Deckard, he preceded her in death, and she retired from Monroe County Schools in 1992 after 29 years of service as a custodian.
Surviving relatives are one daughter, Wyvonna Chastain; grandson, Daniel Puett; great-grandchildren, Nick, Matt, Jacob, Skyler, Axl, and Vada Puett; two brothers, Don Anderson and Marshall Anderson; and a sister, Mildred K. Robinson.

Margaret Walton Wirt (Myer) McFaddin, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday at Royal Oaks Healthcare Center in Terre Haute.
She was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Ohio, to Dillon S. and Jenness (Wirt) Myer.
Survivors include a daughter, Emilie Lynn McFaddin of West Terre Haute; a son, Donald Allen McFaddin and his wife, Claudia of Bedford; and five grandchildren, Brice Allen McFaddin, Ethan Nathaniel McFaddin, Jacob Andrew McFaddin, Dillon Wayne McFaddin and Chloe Noel Renae McFaddin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dillon S. Meyer; her mother, Jenness Wirt Meyer; two sisters, Mary Jeness Sandmeyer and Betty Ann Hall.

Loretta “Sis” Garriott, 71, of 331 Lower Leesville Road, Bedford, died at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.
Born Feb. 25, 1940, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Luther and Ruby (Flinn) Brown. She was a waitress at Rustic Inn, the Elks Lodge and a home health worker. She was a member of the Leesville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Garriott of Bedford and Kevin Garriott and wife Becky of Leesville; four grandchildren, Jason Garriott and Keisha of Ft. Ritner, Haley Garriott and Zach of Orleans, and Ashley Garriott and Bailey Garriott, both of Orleans; stepgrandchildren, Bradley Harper and wife Carri Harper, Stephanie Harper and Jeffrey Sebree and Kelsey, all of Bedford; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Bryson, Austin, Allie, Noah and Jaxen; four brothers, Donnie Brown and wife Delpha, Danny Brown, Jerry Brown and wife Kathy, and Terry Brown and wife Janice all of Bedford; two sisters, Oleta McCart of Bedford and Connie Scott and husband Joe of Heltonville; an aunt, Mildred Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank Brown.

Earl T. Silvers, 93, passed from this life to his eternal rest at Garden Villa on Thursday.
He was born in Tatesville, Ky., the son of Paris Sildon and Florence Etta (Lewis) Silvers. He had brothers, Verdell and Otho; and sisters, Geneva, Gladys and Delores Grace, all of whom preceded him in death.
He first married Ellen Gertrude (Gertie) Gilstrap and she preceded him in death in Nov. 2004. He then married Eva F. (Tidd) Gould on Nov. 15, 2008 and she survives.
An Army veteran of World War II with the 10th Infantry Division, he served in many major campaigns including such famous ones as the Battle of the Bulge. He often quipped that he had walked all over Europe in his six years in the service of our nation.
A General Motors retiree in October 1978, he enjoyed many hobbies over the years including traveling, fishing, and playing the guitar as well as other musical instruments. He enjoyed hours of card playing and board games.
He was a 91-year-member of his beloved First Baptist Church, and one of the congregation’s most senior members.
Earl loved his family dearly and was fondly referred to as “Uncle Earl” by his many nieces and nephews over the generations.
He is survived by his wife; stepdaughter, Brenda K. Fiddler (Edward), and grandchildren, Staci Hearth (Brad), and Lisa Fiddler-Moynihan (Mike); four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Heather, Amanda and B.J.; a brother-in-law, David Tidd (Janet); a sister-in-law, Virginia Wallace and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary with visitation from 2-6 p.m. on Sundayat the mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Carolyn (Watson) Crum-Jones, 78, of Bloomington, passed away at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital on Thursday.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1933, in Bedford, to Noble and Bernice (Ward) Watson.
Carolyn worked as a water analyist for the City of Bloomington Water Company, also at Kroger’s store on Walnut Street in Bloomington. She attended the Smithville Assembly of God, the Paynetown Pentecostal Church, and also while residing in Englewood, Fla., attended a Pentecostal church.
Carolyn was an avid gardner with flowers and tomatoes being her favorite. She also was an antique dealer and had several antique shops and enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Reva Deckard and fiancé Ronnie Collins; ex-husband Michael Deckard,; her brother, Robert Watson and wife Ella of Clearwater, Fla., her sister, Dorothy Dick of Bloomington; nieces, Kathy Gilbert, Karen Watson of Bedford and Cindy Shillingburg of Cincinnati, Ohio; nephews, Keith Dick of Columbus, Steve Dick of Englewood, Fla., and Scott Tirey of Mitchell; and many friends and family in both Bloomington and Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lana Jean Crum, ex-husband, Barton Warren Crum; husband Glen Jones; sisters, Sara Tirey and Linda Watson; and brothers, Richard Watson and Larry Watson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. at the Assembly of God in Harrodsburg. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, Monday, and one hour viewing prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow at the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Larry Paul Terry
Larry Paul Terry, 68, grandson of the late Dora Dorsett Terry and the late Howard Terry and the son of the late Marion Lucille “Dudda” Wren Terry and the late Warren Paul Terry, entered into rest Friday morning at Georgia Health Science University after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Moore officiating. The family will receive friends after the services.
Larry was a life-long resident of Wrens who had a passion for racing and speed. He built and raced cars all over the south. He passed that love onto his son and grandson and even built his grandson a go-cart and race track. Larry enjoyed NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. He was a mechanic who had a gift at diagnosing problems and getting the optimum performance out of an engine.
Larry’s greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandson whom he loved beyond words.
Larry was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Michelle Terry Mc
Zilkey. His survivors include one son, Michael K. Terry (Monica); a brother, Bill Terry; his grandson, Zachary Paul Terry; an aunt, Agnes Wren Terry; numerous cousins in Indiana and Georgia; and many friends.

Private family services were held today for Beatrice Williams, 91, formerly of 1502 22nd Street, Bedford. She passed away on June 6, 2011, at Stonebridge Heath Campus in Bedford.
Born Sept. 3, 1919, in Barboursville, Ky., she was the daughter of Millard and Delorah (Jones) Jarvis. She married Cecil Williams on Feb. 24, 1941, in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2006. She was the co-founder of the Carousel Restaurant and Party House in Bedford and was a long-time member of the Central Church of Christ in Bedford.
Survivors include two daughters, Cecelia (Cedar) Orman of Bedford and Linda Gayle Groce of Martinsville; grandchildren, Stephen Haverly of Bedford, Stephanie Koontz, Anthony Short and Tate Short; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Josephine Williams, Mariah Petit, Alice Jarvis and Diana Williams; three brothers, Matt Jarvis, Millard Jarvis Jr. and Delmar Jarvis; and one granddaughter, Tammy Arnold.

Bill Wayne Terry, 67, of Bedford, passed away Saturday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born Oct. 23, 1943, to the late Wayne Terry and the late Jean Hyslop Terry.
Bill was a 1961 graduate of Bedford High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961 and was a hospital corpsman until being honorably discharged in 1963.
He was employed at Philco Ford, Bedford Medical Center as an inhalation therapist, and at General Motors until he retired.
Bill was loved by many and was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He sincerely loved his family and was “Johnny-on-the-spot” when needed. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son, Christopher James and friend Tammy Still, of Bedford; his sister, Jan Terry Grow of Fairview, Tenn.; his nephew, Kevin Bill Martin (Maria) of Louisville; cousins Ron Terry and Jim Terry, both of Indianapolis, Mike Terry (Suzie) of Tampa, Fla., and Pat Terry (Jo) of Bedford; and special friend, Beverly Blunk.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Dr. M. Girgis and the staff of IU Health Bedford Hospital for the care that Bill received.
Cremation was chosen. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Born Sept. 1, 1912, in Bedford, the daughter of Campbell and Myrtle (Hatfield) Fields. She married August W. Endris on April 9, 1931, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1983.
She was a homemaker and taught piano and violin. She also worked for Bell Telephone in Bedford in the early 1970s and also at Endris Family Grocery.
She was a member of the Bedford High School class of 1929. She studied violin at the Chicago Music Conservatory and Indiana University School of Music.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and choir, the St. Vincent Altar Society, Ladies of Columbus, and was violinist in a local orchestra at Bedford High School.
Survivors include six sons, Louis E. (Evelyn) Endris, San Marcos, Texas, Morris D. (Linda) Endris and Mike A. (Janet) Endris of Springville, H. Vincent (Lynn) Endris of Bedford, Carl W. (Linda) Endris of Indianapolis, and Paul (Jenny) Endris of Bedford; three daughters, M. Sue Graves of Bedford, Mary Virginia “Toody” Leggio of Bedford, and Dinah J. (Tom) Hook of Walton; 48 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, three sisters; two sons, Bill and Fritz Endris; infant daughter, Catherine Anne; four grandchildren, Julie Graves, Drew Endris, Anne Endris, and Eric Endris; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Beretta Endris, Annie Page Leggio and Eric Haseltine.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1946, to Norma Jean and George Ross Adams in Burkesville, Ky. He had lived in the Bedford area for the past five years.
One of his prior employers was Church Brothers Collision Repair in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his sisters, Rhonda Hall of Indianapolis and Beverly Moler of Greencastle; his brother, William D. Murphy of Mexico Beach, Fla.; his uncle, James W. Spencer; his sister-in-law, Connie Murphy and his niece, Cristy Murphy of Bedford, and many nieces and nephews.
Tony would have wanted Connie and Cristy to know how much he loved them. He appreciated how constant, loving and caring they were the last several years of his life.

For several years, she had managed the concession stand at Spring Mill State Park.
Twila graduated from Mitchell High School in 1965 and also graduated from Vincennes University.
She attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Robert retired from Cummins Engine Company after 22 years of service. He enjoyed golf, traveling, sports, NASCAR and cookouts.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Walls of Loogootee; sons Delbert Walls Jr. of Olathe, Kan, and Michael D. Walls of Bedford; daughters Debra J. Taber of Springville, Tenn. and Rebecca L. Born Jan. 8, 1955, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Jane (Lake) Eagan. She was a mule driver for Visteon in Bedford and a member of New Life Apostolic Church in Harrodsburg for 35 years.
She enjoyed life, her family, her church family, fishing and gardening.

Marjorie retired from RCA/Thomson in Bloomington in 1990, she had over 30 years of service.

Robert E. “Pinky” Morgan, 77, Martinsville, former longtime Bedford resident, passed peacefully from this life on Friday at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, while in the care of Yellow Rose Hospice.
He was born to the late Benjamin G. and Josephine (Bush) Morgan on Sept. 10, 1933, in Salem. Pinky worked as an insurance salesman for Commonwealth Insurance Company for 25 years and as a testing tech for RCA in Bloomington for 17 years.
He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge No. 14, American Legion Post No. 250, Mitchell, V.F.W. Post No. 1686, Oolitic and the Disabled American Veterans Lt. Col. C. Bailey Post No. 2, Bedford and the Gosport V.F.W.
He was of Christian faith and he served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
He was a graduate of Gosport High School with the class of 1952.
Pinky leaves behind his children, Joseph E. Morgan, Martinsville and Bob E. Morgan, Jr., Greenwood, Cheryl L. Morgan and Josie M. (Norman) Ferguson both of Martinsville; and the mother of his children, Sarah Sally Blackwell of Martinsville; grandchildren, Joseph C., Dalaney S., Paige R.M., Malory B. and Bradey Shea Morgan, Tobi L. (Kelli) Ferguson, Ryan K. (Danielle) Ferguson and Alexandra N. Rooker; and two great-grandsons, Cooper Elliot Russell and soon-to-be Emerson Keith Ferguson.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John Brewer and Charles and Howard Morgan.
Friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center, Martinsville. There will be a Masonic memorial service Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
A celebration of life service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Gosport Cemetery, Gosport.

Stella V. (Deckard) Langley, 77, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, May 29 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Stella was born on Oct. 20, 1933, in Monroe County and was the daughter of Orville and Virginia (Sciscoe) Deckard. She had worked through the years as a nurse, florist and hairdresser.
She enjoyed fishing, sewing, crafts, cooking and loved spending time with her family and friends. Stella was of the Apostolic Faith.
Survivors include her husband Willis Langley of Bedford, four daughters, Karen Lasley (William) of Greensboro, NC, Tereasa Polley (Dan) of Bloomington, Willena Owens (John Cook) of Mitchell, and Sheila Gevedon (Mike) of Brandon, Fla.; two sons, Allen Langley (Fiancée Christine Gordy) of Bloomington and Tony Langley of Bedford. Stella is also survived by two brothers, Cletis Deckard (Helen) of Unionville and Louie Deckard (Nancy) of Modesto, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Tangie Shirely (Mark), Joseph Hunter, Sherry Kay, Melissa Smith (Chad), Michelle Owens, Natalie Crohn (Drew), Branan and Travis Gevedon; 4 great-grandchildren Shawn Kay, Dylan and Alex Smith and Jacob Gevedon; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charlie Deckard, Chauncey Deckard. Wallace Ray Deckard; and sister, Dora Mae Deckard preceded her in infancy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Rev. Charles Kelley of Columbus, Rev. Ron Hawkins of Turning Point Church in Ellettsville and Rev. Richard Reed, New Horizon Church, McCormick Road will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be on from 11 a.m. until the service Saturday at The Funeral Chapel.

Zelma Wilson Crane

Zelma Wilson Crane, 74, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2011.
Born Feb. 6, 1937, to Alex and Magdalene (Morrow) Wilson. She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Crane on Feb. 12, 1955, and they were married 50 years when he passed away on Oct. 19, 2005.
She was employed at Cortron in Orleans for 20 years before she became a stay at home mom and surrogate grandma to many of her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Mom was famous for her home cooking and especially her homemade noodles. There was always a meal for anyone to share.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her gentle touch and loving arms will be greatly missed.
She was loved and cherished by her loving daughters, Sandra Owens and husband Wayne of Springville, Donna Baker and husband Mike of Bedford; a niece, Brenda Corey who was also raised as a daughter in the home; grandchildren, Michael Joe Baker and wife Julie of Mitchell, Laci Owens Miller and fiancé Jon Hays of Springville and Kyle Owens of Bloomington; and nine great-grandchildren, Mallory Lynn, Michael Ray, Peyton Marie and Kaya Jade Baker, Mattea Mae, Mackenlee Dean, Elijah Josiah, and Emmalie Jolyn Miller. She was preceded in death by great granddaughter, Mackenzie Mae Jolyn Miller. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
One of thirteen children, she is survived by two sisters, Rosalee Wright and Kathy New; two brothers, Floyd Wilson and Earl Dean Wilson all of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Carl Wilson, Cecil Wilson, Dorothy Sego, Emma Poole and four in infancy, Wendell, Chester, Doris and Zelma’s identical twin sister, Thelma.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the mortuary.

Wilma M. Atkins, 76, Mitchell, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 17, 1934, in Nelson County, Ky., she was the daughter of William and Virgil (Humes) Duncan. She married Jimmie E. Atkins May 20, 1953, and he preceded her in death Nov. 15, 1998.
She had managed the Camp Store at Spring Mill State Park and worked in the cafeteria at Mitchell High School. Wilma was a past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star No. 503.
Surviving are her children, Steven E. (Sherri) Atkins of Orleans, Jimmie E. (Virginia) Atkins of Newberry, S.C., Larry D. (Christina) Atkins of Mitchell and Cheri (Robert) Ross of Southlake, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby (Huston) Burns of South Boston, Frances (Paul) Hoskins of Mitchell, Joyce (L.W.) Powell of Memphis, and Barbara (Terry) Kilhourne of Dallas, Ga.
Her parents; husband; and sister, Thelma Wasserman, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The Reverend Doctor Robert H. Anderson, 86, of Wichita, Kan., passed into the presence of our Almighty God on Friday, May 27 (Psalm 100).
Funeral Service was Wednesday at Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State Street, Augusta, Kan. Burial was at Kensington Gardens, Wichita.
Robert was born in Mitchell, on June 19, 1924, son of the late Nathanial Omer and Carrie Jane (Lagle) Anderson.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles E., Howard J., and Ferrell O. Anderson. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary L. (Johnson) Anderson of Wichita; daughter, Deborah J. (James) Wilkerson of Wichita; son, Jay Robert Anderson of Melbourne, Ky.; grandchildren, Quentin (Stephanie) Pittman of Wichita, Austin Pittman of Indianapolis, Sara Anderson of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Jacqueline Wilkerson of Wichita; and great-grandchildren Madyson, Nicholas and Anthony Pittman of Wichita.

Virginia Gobin

Virginia Whalen Gobin, 89, of Mitchell, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
She was born April 17, 1922, to Elmer and Icey (Walls) Stewart in Monroe County. She married Fred Whalen Jan. 2, 1937. This marriage produced four children and ended in divorce in May 1943. She later married Emerson Schultz, Harry Crabb and Carl Gobin and all preceded her in death.
Virginia worked at various jobs beginning with Reliance Manufacturing in Mitchell and she retired from Modern Cleaners in Bloomington.
She was a member of “Mary’s Sit Down and Shape Up Exercise Class” and the Mitchell Wesleyan Church, but had attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene with her daughter, Roberta, the past year. Virginia enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles, and was well known for her fried chicken and yeast rolls.
She is survived by children, Nancy (Donald) Mahan of Bedford, David (Louise) Whalen of Bedford, Roberta Henderson of Mitchell and Jean Elrod of Springfield, Ohio; brothers Bill Stewart of Ellettsville and Paul Stewart of Waldorf, Md.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Virginia also raised stepchildren, Bill and Jack Schultz, Barbara Webb, Catherine Cox, Karen Archer and her very special stepdaughter, Sondra Williams. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her parents; still-born daughter, Tina Marie Crabb; granddaughter, Christina Gibbons; brother, Warren Stewart; and sisters, Margaret Bush, Naomi Bush and Mary Ellen Jones preceded her in death.
Funeral services were May 26 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery.

Jeremy Lewis, 29, of 101 Private Addition, Mitchell, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Monday at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 20, 1981, in Bedford, he was the son of James E. and Helen L. (Edwards) Lewis. He was a graduate of Mitchell High School with the class of 2000 and attended Ivy Tech in Bloomington.
He was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple where he worked with the youth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his parents of Mitchell; a daughter, Alexzania Simpson of Bedford; three sisters, Kathy (Gordon) Campen of Bedford, Karen Wise of Mitchell and Lisa Dumond of Bedford; 11 nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Patrick Wise and his grandparents.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bedford Baptist Temple with Pastor Dr. Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery.

Bob C. Allender, 79, of Bedford, formerly of Bloomington, passed away Sunday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
He was the son of Cecil P. and Ruth (Snyder) Allender. He was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Brown County.
After 35 years of service, Bob retired from Cummins in Columbus.
He was a member of the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle and formerly a member of the Belmont Pentecostal Church.
Bob is survived by his wife Anna Lee Baxter Allender; three children, Donald “Cotton” L. Allender of Bloomington, Larry Allender (Wilma) of Morgantown, and Debbie Mathis (Paul) of Brown County; two stepsons, David Baxter (Jennifer) of Springville and Danny Baxter of Bloomington; four sisters, Dolly Wadke of Indianapolis, Irene Schroeder of Brown County, and Berl Deckard and Mary Brown, both of Florida; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Delores (Bruce) Allender in 1994; two sons, Lloyd C. Allender and Steven R. Allender; two brothers, Glen Allender and George Allender; and one sister, Mabel Tucker.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home with Mark Brock and Frank Gott officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery.
