Bedford Center
The Bedford Center is a branch of Oakland City University located in Bedford, Indiana, which is approximately 70 miles south of Indianapolis. It was established in 1977 to meet the needs of the local community. Since its beginnings, the campus has grown in size, facilities, and programs. Enrollment is sufficient enough to offer both associate and bachelor's degrees. The Center is now located in a large, historic limestone structure located at 405 "I" Street. The University is continually adding to the facility. It has a computer laboratory, library, and learning resource center and classrooms. Cooperative graduate and undergraduate classes have been established with Purdue University and Ball State University.

Oakland City University is committed to the missions of its Bedford Branch which is to provide curriculum that meets the particular needs of the Bedford area and, to promote an academic program of integrity within the context of Christian values. It offers traditional degrees as was as Accelerated Adult Degrees.

  • General Announcements:
  • Campus Bookstore hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9 - 4 and Tuesday 9 – 6.
  • Library Hours for Fall 2008: 8:00 - 4:30 Monday through Thursday. Karen Ruble, Library Coordinator, gladly assists those new and returning students. Stop by and see her on the upper floor across from the Cyberlab. “A library user is the most important person in any library.”
  • Traditional Program Announcements:
  • Office hours for the traditional program are 8:00 – 4:30.
  • Admissions Representative, Stephanie Armstrong is available after 4 pm by appointment (812) 279-8126 Ext. 29.
  • Open House dates will be available soon.

  • SAEL Program Announcements:
  • SAEL Academic Program Coordinator is Pat Sharp (812) 279-8126 Ext. 15.
  • SAEL is now accepting applications for the Adult Learning Format MBA program. This one-night-a-week, three semester cohort program for business bachelor degree grads interested in academic advancement must have files completed by mid-November. Apply and attend locally. Financial aid options may be available. For more information or an appointment with Pat Sharp, APC, SAEL Office, call 279-8126 x21.

  • Event Announcements:
  • Student Assembly is November 13th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
  • Thanksgiving Break starts Thursday, November 20th at 10:00 p.m. Classes resume on Monday, December 1st at 8:00 a.m.
  • Club Announcements:
  • Student Ambassadors for the 2008/2009 academic year are Jenny Brown, Lyndon Hopkins, Sarah Johnson, Donetta Schrader & Stacy Trambaugh.
  • Sigma Kappa Sigma is collecting donations for the White River Humane Society. See Stephanie Armstrong, Advisor or Keli Parker, President for information regarding needed items.
  • FREE Bowling at Broadview Bowl sponsored by Sigma Kappa Sigma is scheduled for Friday, November 21st from noon – 2:00 p.m. Sign up so that SKS will know how many are going.
  • Student Government Association executive meetings are the 1st Monday of every month from 12:30 – 1:30 in Room 203; bring brown bag lunch.  General meetings are held on the second Monday of the month and are open to students only. 
  • Media Club’s “Name That Media Baby” Contest winner is Julie Conley.  Julie correctly matched the Media Class participants to their baby pictures. She will be awarded a gift bag and recognized in November’s assembly.
  • SGA Turkey Bowling is scheduled for Thursday, November 20th. This hilarious activity is a must-see event!
  • The SGA Thanksgiving Dinner will be Thursday, November 20th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Use the sign-up sheet outside the faculty copy room for donations of sides and desserts.
  • Decorate the Halls with SGA on Monday, November 24th. Lunch will be provided. This is a perfect opportunity to have fun with peers while creating holiday cheer!
