I was told that Chopper passed away this morning. It started me thinking about how many people call Chopper a friend. He never met a stranger. he always went that extra step to help a person in need.
I know for a fact that he once gave his last twenty dollars to a lady so she could buy some groceries to feed her kids. As a friend you couldn't do any better. I was lucky enough to have Chopper as a neighbor, not once, but twice. He was always fast to say hello and ask sincerely "How's it going?" and he really wanted to know. Chopper had many friends on many different levels of society. He didn't see poor or rich, he saw into a persons heart and spirit.
I can only imagine the number of people who call Chopper 'friend'. As the news spread throughout town today, many people wept openly. Some said a silent prayer for Debbie and his boys. Some can only pay tribute in words such as these. Sam Shaw erected a sign today with the words.. "In memory of Terry L. Marsh.. Choppers last ride to heaven". Sorry Sam, I am not usually one to disagree.. But I think Chopper will now be making many rides to and from heaven as he carries blessings down from God.. to bestow on us who have yet to meet Him.
Rest well now Chopper.. My friend.. and friend to countless others.
