Thank you to all those businesses and individuals that assisted us in our efforts to stop county wide zoning for Lawrence County. The effort was indeed successful and I appreciate all the assistance that was recieved.
This was an issue that effected all persons in this county and would have increased our taxes,created a new fee system, reduced our property rights and expanded the scope and power of local government. This would not have been of benefit to the majority of local citizens and the County Commissioners made a wise decision when Zoning was taken of the table. This was not the first time this issue has arisen and it will not likely be the last, but for now our point of view won the day.
