Daniel,

The current Obits are on the "News" page (click the link in the menu on the left) and they are displayed in a box at the top. Currently, they are linked by day. We are trying to work something out to get them listed by name instead.

If you are more interested in the Obituaries Archive that was on the old site, we have not yet moved it into the new site. It is still there, and can be found by following this link:

http://www.bedfordonline.com/archives/obit/index.htm

They are listed by year and by month at the bottom of that page.

Panic set in until I stumbled on to Daniel's question.

Many Genealogy sites on the internet contain a link to the archived obituaries found at Bedford Online.

Such complete obituaries are like GOLD to genealogy researchers and the loss of the archives would be considered a tragedy !

It appears, though, that May 2007 will be the last to be posted in their entirety??

Only the "brief" details are found on the WBIW site..

(the 'new' Bedford Online is looking great!)

We're still trying to figure out how to get the full text like we did before, in an automated way. It may not be possible unless the mortuaries e-mail us the information directly. Previously, the text was copied from various sources on a daily basis but it was never given directly to us.

I also noticed that some of the URLs in the obit archives were broken, they should be fixed now. Let me know if you come across anything that doesn't work like it should.

Janet, Daniel, et al:

I have managed to import all of the old obituaries into the new site, and I brought the current obits up to date. The format may change in the future, perhaps for September and beyond.

The current obits can be found here or by using the link in the main menu on the left. They may also be accessed at the bottom of the news page here.

Let me know if you have trouble accessing anything.
