These cookies rise high and then fall, giving them a
wrinkled top!
Snickerdoodles
| 1 C soft shortening | 2 tsp cream of tartar |
| 1 1/2 C sugar | 1 tsp baking soda |
| 2 eggs | 1/2 tsp salt |
| 2 3/4 C flour |
- Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix well.
- Mix together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.
- Roll into balls the size of a walnut. Roll in a mixture of 2 T sugar mixed with 2 tsp cinnamon.
- Place about 2 " apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350°.
- Make about 5 dozen
